In our biggest Vox Pop video EVER, we put the 'which Monaco are you?' question to celebrities and industry giants at Monaco Grand Prix 2022 - they must choose between the newly released 'Dark Lord' reissue and the all-time classic Calibre 11 CAW211P 'McQueen'. The McQueen is the quintessential Monaco that has stood the test of time and will continue to do so. It's an absolutely gorgeous piece when you see it in person, especially due to its milky blue dial and highly reflective and polished horizontal indices.
My favorite Heuer Monaco video was the one you made few years ago rewatched it many times, I was confident with my choice of the classic Calibre 11 but your video just added confidence. I like the Dark Lord but will always go for the McQueen Calibre 11.
That video just lives on and on! Tried to reprise it here, but suspect it will win in the end 😛 Thanks for watching and yes, you chose right 🙌

The Dark Lord although I’m not surprised tbh. My mates did a similar survey in work but they had Gulf 11 v black 02. Everyone chose the black one and when asked why they ( non WIS who mainly wore Apple or no watch) said it looked more normal. One person who likes watches (vintage Zenith) said although he liked the Gulf he wouldn’t buy it because he felt in time he would out grow it.

Being an absolute Steve McQueen tragic, the ‘69 Steve McQueen!😎👍🏼 I have SMQ30 rego on my 2011 “The Great Escape” Triumph. 30 being for only 30 models available in Australia. I actually double wristed back in 1990 doing the Europe backpacking trip Andrew. Yep for the simple reason of home time & current time.

I thought I'd only like chronograph round dials but the more I looked at the Monaco, the more I love it, and it was worn effortlessly by the King of Cool himself. After hemming and hawing for a couple of years, I saved up and took the plunge, I have had the Calibre 02 for just over 3 weeks now and I have been absorbing all writings and YT videos about it (yes, I watched your 2017 post) and tonight I came across this one. Loved your enthusiasm at the Monaco GP, as I am a F1 fan. My wife wanted me to get the Dark Lord but they are hard to come by on the westcoast of Canada, and I also love the blue shimmer of the original. Like @watchanish said, it is about art, emotion, and how it make you feel. I don't need to show off my timepiece to anybody, I just need it to tell time and appreciate how uplifting it makes me when I look at my wrist. Going to swap out the alligator strap for a steel bracelet so I can wear my TAG wherever I go, even in the shower. Thank you for your vid.

Of course the dark lord has more value, but I always like de dial design of the calibre 11 more, no matter what colour: thanks to the crown and pusher on two sides and the horizontal markers, the calibre 11 watches looks more “square”….. like the original. The calibre 12 or this 02 always looks a more like a rectangle watch to me.
