Floyd is selling a fight here. I have no doubt that he likes and respects Cotto. The fact of the matter is that if Floyd was put on the defensive, he would bring up all of Miguel faults and losses. We all knew Floyd would beat him. When that happens, Floyd goes into his "this guy is great, tune in" routine. He did the same shit with McGregor. I love Cotto in the ring. He is very talented and great to watch. He is a nice guy too. I think he knew the ppv numbers would be ok because of the Puerto Ricans supporting their guy. I'm glad it went this way tbh, I wouldnt want to see him trashing Miguel.
Mayweather liked Cotto's responses to all Max's questions. He never tried to sell Floyd short. He respected the greatness of his opponent. Not all of Mayweather's opponents do that.
Dale De Souza he showed most of his opponents respect always had great sportsmanship and professionalism except a few of his biggest fights thats why we remember him most for shit talking lol
Dale De Souza because they know each other. Been knowing Each other during their time with TR. they have shared the same gym together and they have spared. Floyd helped cotto get ready for lovemore ndou
Floyd is bad azz but all this moving his chair back and forth asking for scores to games, bringing up what people are wearing seems like an uncomfortable man. Can't sit still
People forget how respectful Mayweather is to 90% of his opponents. The man has done nothing but believe in himself and his skill. Now 50 fight later looks like he was never wrong
I can't think of anyone that Mayweather showed respect to,.... what are you talking about? Floyd disrespected Ortiz, Guerrero, Shane Mosley, Pacquiao, Oscar dela Hoya, Maidana and Marquez,...those are the opponents I can remember. Now, you name the guys that he was respectful of? If you say Cotto,....you're a fool. Anyone can see why he pretended to give Cotto a little respect. Floyd's main enemy is Pacquiao, and he used every opportunity to trash Pacquiao. Twice in this episode he mentioned Pacquioa, berated and lying about him. Who else does that; talks about another guy that isn't involved in this? In order to get people to support his attack on Pacquiao, Floyd treated Cotto decent, trying to fake being a nice guy while tearing Pacquiao apart. He knew he would be getting support in this situation, because he knew Cotto fans would be watching, and he knew he could accuse Pacquiao of asking Cotto for a catch weight,....in effect gaining support from Cotto fans since Pacquiao had beaten Cotto. Cotto didn't bring it up, what business is it of Floyd's and why would Floyd ever defend another guy, especially the guy he's fighting next? Only one reason, he hates Pacquiao more then all other fighters combined, so giving Cotto credit is no problem for Floyd if he can talk shit about Pacquiao. For the record, and this is the truth, not bullshit like Floyd always brings; Miguel Cotto fought Joshua Clottey in his fight previous to the Pacquiao fight. Cotto weighed in at 146 to fight Clottey, about 5 months before fighting Pacquiao. That means that Cotto had no problem making the weight at 147, and it means that Cotto preferred coming in one pound under the limit for Clottey. 5 months later, Pacquioa asked for a 145 weight limit, Cotto weighed in at 145, and as always, he had 24 hours to add weight, just as in every fight. Floyd chose to mention Pacquiao's name regarding his fight with Cotto that was more then a year prior, when it had nothing to do with Floyd at all, and when Cotto weighed in 1 pound less then he had in his previous fight with Clottey. Doesn't it seem strange that Floyd thought that it was important enough to mention this when it involved a single pound in a fight that didn't involve himself, and that Cotto himself didn't complain about? If Floyd told the story honestly, he would have said this; I don't think it was fair that Cotto had to fight Pacquiao one pound less then he fought Clottey, which is the truth and anyone can verify. If Floyd told it that way,.... people would have wondered why Floyd is bringing up something that has nothing to do with this fight, nothing to do with Floyd, and a one pound difference is not a big deal to begin with. But Floyd didn't tell it like that. First he got Cotto fans on his side by defending Cotto, saying that in his opinion Cotto had no losses. Of course he's sucking up to Cotto fans, and some of the responses here show that some took the bait. Then he made it sound like the catch weight was a big deal, but he never once mentioned that it amounted to one single pound. Did Floyd ever go on another show, one that had nothing to do with Juan Marquez, and admit publicly that he chose to fight a guy that had never fought above super featherweight, 130, in his entire career? Did Floyd tell everyone that despite asking Marquez to go up 3 full weight classes to 147, that Floyd didn't make the 147 limit, so they had to write a new contract with a 150 pond limit? Did you hear Floyd mention those things about himself, that are the absolute proof? Did he mention that he made Hatton fight at 147, not his best weight (which was 140 ), where Hatton was unbeaten? Did he mention that Pacquiao agreed to fight Hatton at 140, Ricky's best chance to win? I don't think Floyd has ever said anything about himself that is the truth, because everything he does is dishonest, cheating, unsportsmanlike and cowardly. Cowardly, such as forcing Maidana to wear gloves that he didn't want to wear, that he had never worn previously, and that were known to soften the punches? Did he mention that he paid Maidana 1.5 million$ to wear those soft gloves? Who would disagree that Floyd made the most cowardly request of an opponent in the history of boxing? Floyd was afraid to let Maidana pound on him like Maidana did to Broner. Floyd was scared of Maidana,.....there's no other way to look at it. You'll never hear Floyd mention it, yet he went out of his way to make an issue of a one pound concession made by Cotto against Pacquiao, when it was none of his business. The fact is that Cotto was a bigger man then Pacquiao, and everyone knew it. Floyd has no excuses, he was a bigger man then Madaina if the truth be known, Maidana was fighting at 140 a couple of fights before, so was Guerrero, who fought at 135 not long before he fought Floyd, Hatton was a 140 fighter his entire career save for one fight, so Floyd has a record of fighting smaller guys, the most embarrassing was a 17 pound smaller guy in Marquez. Now Floyd let's hear some more bullshit,.........like being caught cheating 3 times with drugs for example.

Its hard to look at Floyd as tough, because he's always smiling and acting arrogant , but when you really think about how fucking tough his is its insane the man has NEVER been knocked off his feet , wobbled only 2 times and beaten up the toughest black and latino fighters in the last 20 years , the man is tough as nails!

Ramesh Hansa Ravendra that was some funny ish. Cotto just got taken in by Floyd. Floyd too smart. He smirked afterwards when he said" ok, let's get back to talking boxing".. lol He bossed it up
elMatatan309 as braggadocious as Floyd Mayweather is, is mostly because he replicates the same energy that the other fighter gives him. Look at when he fought Ricky Hatton and Oscar Dela Hoya, both were getting in his face so he gave them the same respect. Cotto has always been respectful towards him even back in 2008 when there was a ton of hype behind them in the welterweight division
Floyd was being so smart in this conversation. He was trying to make him feel real comfortable by complimenting his watch and boxing history and future. Perfect execution on his part.
Lmao bro I’m not a mayweather fan but I gotta love him this dude so easy he undefeated and don’t give af what anyone else do or say he just goes out whoops ass and leaves it’s effortless all these other guys make it look like this is there life and it’s the end of the world it’s war type shit mayweather treat it like a game love it!!

Turned out to be one of Mayweather's best performances and Cotto fought his ass off and gave Mayweather a tough fight and Mayweather still probably didn't lose 3 rounds.
Floyd gotta respect Cotto cause he knows Cotto is a beast, he is extremely skilled, that was a good fight, anybody who fights Cotto win or lose will always be busted up or bruised up NO CAP!!!
Floyd shows a true alpha personality here. The way he dominates the conversation and even manages to win his opponent over in a friendly manner. But make no mistake about it, this is not how he truly feels.
I like how Floyd tried to get underneath Cotto's skin with the whole tablet stunt and looking at the score and Cotto just counted it by asking him how does it work lol classic Cotto so u have to win by 4 or more right ? Lol
Let me go on record saying this....after Cotto was beat down by Margocheato, he was NEVER the same. I don't care if he avenged his defeat or whatever. Once you get hit from a guy with some bricks in his hands, it changes you as a fighter. Cotto was so sharp, so courageous, so confident when he was undefeated and never had that vicious lost. It's actually a shame of what he could have been.
They known each other since Miguel was at top rank back when Floyd was at 135 140. Floyd thought they would fight at 140 but cottos camp thought he needed a little more experience. I agree. Floyd would have dominant him at 140. That was his best weight. Both are beasts. A plus fighters
Crossover3king Great fucking idea, never thought of that. That fight would have been amazing to watch and I’m talking about the actual fight and the pre-fight hype
@@robbyrobinson4500 Floyd's boxing iq and the adjustments he would make in the middle of a fight were entertaining to watch by itself. Only casual boxing fans say his fights were boring
@@robbyrobinson4500 his talent inside the ring is led him to be undefeated throughout his entire career. His defensive iq, the way he calculated his opponent, his versatile fighting style, the list goes on and on. It was never boring to watch the one of the best in the business tactically break down his opponent. If you actually watch boxing to see the technical skill these fighters have instead of just wanting to watch 2 guys beat the shit out of each other, Floyd was an entertaining boxer and that's why so many prospects and young people look up to his skill and want to be like him
Floyd is a mental genius he know how to get in your head I seen Fighters with the ability to beat Floyd but because he already had control over they psyche he already had them beat they already lost before they even stepped in the ring look how he's draw Miguel cotto in he's talk clothes, watches gambling he's Miguel mind out it suppose to be on
The respect here is pleasing to the competitive soul. The ear 👂🏻 gesture Floyd did when Cotto asked about his preparation, was probably the only energy of confrontation this whole interview.

Floyd gotta respect Cotto cause he knows Cotto is a beast, he is extremely skilled, that was a good fight, anybody who fights Cotto win or lose will always be busted up or bruised up NO CAP!!!
Cotto fought two people (Margarito and Pacquiao) who were cheating... THAT is too dangerous.
that was fucked up, cotto should have been compensated somehow
Southcidal Music o
Southcidal Music That proves his got heart right ?
Mayweather is a cheater too... the most masterful at it.
ramiro lmfaooo stfu corn ball
ive not seen mind games like this in sports before, this was excellent
2 of my favorite fighters of all time... My favorite Floyd Mayweather fight Cotto gave Floyd all he could Handle.
Floyd shows a true alpha personality here. The way he dominates the conversation and even manages to win his opponent over in a friendly manner. But make no mistake about it, this is not how he truly feels.
Love seeing the respect given from both fighters, really the only person to get closest to cracking something in Floyd.
I like how Floyd tried to get underneath Cotto's skin with the whole tablet stunt and looking at the score and Cotto just counted it by asking him how does it work lol classic Cotto so u have to win by 4 or more right ? Lol
To this day this is still the best boxing interview of modern time
The masonic handshake and the respect floyd gives to cotto .. hmmm
alexda 1234 i peeped that 2
Yea me to that's wild
That Guy Masonic isn’t Illuminati
I looked at him as a undefeated fighter as well until floyd beat him because at the time floyd was the only one that fought him legitimately.
Y'all keep saying he was giving cotto respect he was disrespected him the old interview especially cutting him off to check his bets
Marquan Bowie 100 😂
Let me go on record saying this....after Cotto was beat down by Margocheato, he was NEVER the same. I don't care if he avenged his defeat or whatever. Once you get hit from a guy with some bricks in his hands, it changes you as a fighter. Cotto was so sharp, so courageous, so confident when he was undefeated and never had that vicious lost. It's actually a shame of what he could have been.
I agree. Probably serious effects in speed and endurance
Mayweather is very smart😂 he got in his head without even showing it
Classy as hell & with that background spooky music.....Watched every minute of it!
The reason why Floyd is being very respectful is because Cotto and Mayweather are both gentleman and real recognize real.
Never seen floyd give another fighter so much respect.
@Scout Olaf of course.
@Scout Olaf I don't know if he won the bet.
@Scout Olaf yes he won 86k
@Scout Olaf 86k he won
They known each other since Miguel was at top rank back when Floyd was at 135 140. Floyd thought they would fight at 140 but cottos camp thought he needed a little more experience. I agree. Floyd would have dominant him at 140. That was his best weight. Both are beasts. A plus fighters
FLOYD ALWAYS SHOWS RESPECT
Ha
Lol not always
thatchillkid07 he talks trash sometimes but who doesn’t like trash talk ?
Only boxer he didnt reallly like was Oscar
@@ATX-js1to he show respect after ever fight.
The fact that Floyd said he doesn’t know what’s gonna happen shows how much respect he has for cotto he’s diffntly a hall of famer
“Nice watch Cartier”😂😂
Nicest face off ive seen by far
This the only fighter Floyd really respected Cotto was a beast! Always walked down his opponents and had tremendous heart!
It's so hard to not respect Cotto. Even when he loses, he has this unbreakable "composure" to him
A fan of both
I would have loved to see this two face off in 2008.
boxfancb Damn right. Them two back in '08 was the fight that everyone wants to see. Two undefeated welterweight champions face to face.
77junior77mafia77 Floyd wasn’t even boxing in 2008, he retired in 2007 and returned in 2009.
Imagine mayweather and mayorga face off thats gonna be fucking LOL
Crossover3king Great fucking idea, never thought of that. That fight would have been amazing to watch and I’m talking about the actual fight and the pre-fight hype
mayorga is fucking bum
lmao i would love to see mayorga talk all that shit and still get his ass whooped
Mayorga would've got destroyed
They actually have a mutual respect for one another
It's crazy because I was first paying attention to Cotto and as soon as the bet convo popped up, I was focused on Floyd the whole time.
This is what it should be like. Both boxers respecting eachother
Miguel cotto look like he at a job interview waiting to sign his w2 form
The best face off ever. Much respect from both...
The respect is crazy!
damn i wish i was into boxing when floyd was active
Why so you could watch boring fights. He is the slickest boxer maybe of all time. But was never exciting at all and a bore to watch
@@robbyrobinson4500 false floyd last ten fights was not all that but in his 20's was big time
@@robbyrobinson4500 Floyd's boxing iq and the adjustments he would make in the middle of a fight were entertaining to watch by itself. Only casual boxing fans say his fights were boring
@@zorosdrip7966 thats why o said slickest boxer of all time. His iq and his talents made his fights boring
@@robbyrobinson4500 his talent inside the ring is led him to be undefeated throughout his entire career. His defensive iq, the way he calculated his opponent, his versatile fighting style, the list goes on and on. It was never boring to watch the one of the best in the business tactically break down his opponent. If you actually watch boxing to see the technical skill these fighters have instead of just wanting to watch 2 guys beat the shit out of each other, Floyd was an entertaining boxer and that's why so many prospects and young people look up to his skill and want to be like him
These guys don’t have beef but they have tension
You can tell Mayweather has tremendous amount of respect for Cotto. Dude didn’t trash talk him at all
Floyd mayweather moving the chair was funny asf but tbh this whole video funny cotto being calm is funny idk why and Floyd just funny asff 😂😂😂😂
This was Mayweather's greatest fight. This was a really good fight. I really respected Mayweather after this fight. Respect to both great fighters.
Maidana and Cotto were the best opponents for Mayweather
Floyd is a mental genius he know how to get in your head I seen Fighters with the ability to beat Floyd but because he already had control over they psyche he already had them beat they already lost before they even stepped in the ring look how he's draw Miguel cotto in he's talk clothes, watches gambling he's Miguel mind out it suppose to be on
I never really watched Cotto fight and I’m sad about it. Because Cotto to me was such a great guy and fighter.
He had the heart of the champion
The mad respect on these two fighters are amazing
Cotto one of the only guys floyd shows true respect to b4 and after
Floyd showed respect for every single opponent after a fight.
6:08
The dramatic music continues but it's just Floyd and Cotto doing small talk about sports bets 🤣🤣🤣🤣
"so you have to win by 4?"
"Yeah"
🎶 Brwaaaarrrrr 🎶 🎹😂
I was just about to write ‘ Nice to see maywether so open and honest ‘ then he pulls out the tablet to watch the game to check on the bet 😂
I watch these for nostalgia boxing is so different today lol I miss these kind of interviews
floyd gave cotto more respect than any other opponents
The most respect I've ever seen Floyd Mayweather paying any Boxer. Period.
Floyd waited til Cotto took a couple vicious L’s before facing Cotto. Cotto just wasn’t the same anymore
The respect here is pleasing to the competitive soul. The ear 👂🏻 gesture Floyd did when Cotto asked about his preparation, was probably the only energy of confrontation this whole interview.
