Not as excited with the new enemies but looking forward to the changes!!! Moria at a more difficult level will be great, I am ready to make things more of a challenge again.
Yeah can't be agroing like a whole pool of mobs lol. Everytime I do that on Angmar, I forget about the wraiths and get them to spawn just to have them slay me.
Took part in the Nazgul testing with dev Tapiokka on BR Tuesday and afterwards, he spawned some of the new Moria special mobs for us to try out. The first two tiers of mobs were about the same as Shadowy and Mournful wraiths like you said. The Troll (Harrowing equivalent) was very cool. Also, VERY large with somewhere around 20-30K morale. Forgot to take a screencap. :P There were still a good number of people around from the Nazgul testing, so were able to take him down pretty easily, but they will probably be extremely difficult to solo, just like the Harrowing wraiths.
Oh snap! I didn't know a Moria revamp was in the works. After the first big revamp I thought it was pretty good. EDIT: sounds like revamp was the wrong way to describe it as it's just stat tuning the instance mobs. But anyways.... Cool beans! I still hate that I don't remotely have time for the Legendary servers right now. Still struggling to get my main to Umbar! ;p
Always in two minds with Legendary Servers... I kept feeling rushed like I was pressuring myself to level to cap before next expansion was ready, but I enjoyed the concept! Maybe I'll have to re-dip in, left a 48 LM there
Yeah the old style hand drawn maps were the worst for the twisting 3D environments of Moria. The "satalite view" maps would be better but still not great just due to 2D limitations.
After playing since beta and running 55 characters across six servers through the game, Moria is a matter of time spent familiarizing yourself with it, no different than anything else in life. If you aren't into difficult maps, I can understand not wanting to spend leisure time in one, but I love labyrinths, so it's perfect for me.
Honestly, now is the best time. More people will be on for Moria, but honestly, they will probably die out going forward because Rohan has never been an expansion people stick along long for.
These sound like positive changes. I do wish that they would update the regular servers in general to 64bit. I have so many characters on arkenstone and I have small desire to pay for anything or even play because of the lag and clunky combat. I also wish that they would update the regular servers’ travel paths first, because I think that if you were a person who was going to play on these legendary servers, you already kind of have the mindset that you are going to be doing it to get the full experience of the content as it was. I also wish they would take some developments cycles to just polish up the game in general. It doesn’t make any sense that so many instantaneous abilities require you to be stand still. It’s not exactly an instantaneous ability if you have to stop moving, sit there and use the ability and watch the animation, and then you can move again. I’m trying to remember which abilities that supplies to you, but there were a whole bunch of them that would like this. I’m pretty sure the burglar or the hunter and it was so blatantly appear that it was a problem because it existed for one class, but not the other. And the question has to be, why? Why is stuff like that still in the game for abilities that have been around for decades almost It doesn’t make any sense that you can increase the resolution to make the game look nice, but then you can’t even scale some of the text. And maybe they have fixed this since the last time I played, but it doesn’t make much sense that you couldn’t interact with things in Wonderlust form as a bear without switching to human form manually, or that you can’t use abilities from wanderlust form to break you into the normal bear or human forms automatically. Like who designed that? Wanderlust should just passively increase your speed and bare form until you use the next ability - until you get out of combat again. Anytime stuff like that happens, it’s a barrier from you interacting with the game and enjoying the functional control of your own character, it just doesn’t feel good. When you compound that with the server lag -and- the skill queue system which already alienates most players coming from not just from most MMOs, but nearly all RPGs in general. I think these are things that should’ve been high priorities to address. What could be more important than the way the game feels to play? I understand the need to make more content to get people to buy stuff, but once they’re in the game, there’s no reason for them to keep on encountering all of these barriers that push them away there should be an option to be able to play with global cool down based skill usage.
Yes, but I must say I appreciate them introducing landscape difficulty. It's been really helpful to add a challenge and they have made the legendary servers challenging with wraiths and world bosses.
Turn on landscape difficulty, 9 can be chaotic and adds more effects into the game than back in the day, with the the difficulty as well Plus you get bonus xp with it on Although lotro landscape was never exactly difficult, with trait trees everyone got a lot stronger as well which is where the ease comes from
@@moondog548 Well I’m not sure if Orc assassins and bounty hunters will be on the regular servers, but I see no reason they can’t implement the new travel systems in as they’ve done for the legendary servers.
@@aubreytheweirdone Yes, sorry, they clearly have their experimental/special mechanical systems just for the legendary servers like the wraiths, but the game world itself, quests, etc is going to be the same for everyone. What we really need is the 64bit server tech on the regular servers. They can get more money out of the hardcore base by forcing us into VIP for a while, but the game will keep turning away most new players who keep getting hit with the infamous lag.
I would imagine that the travel network would be implemented to all servers, orc assassins etc. are features of the legendary servers so those would only be added to Angmar and Mordor

The base health, mitigations and damage are back to what it was when Moria was first released.

Perhaps I am just bad at maps, but the ones in Moria left me perpetually lost. This was years ago and I still won't go back there because of it.

Is it worth jumping into the legendary servers now?
Better now than later. Level cap is still relatively low. Moria is a popular expansion so we should get a little population spike as well.
Honestly, now is the best time. More people will be on for Moria, but honestly, they will probably die out going forward because Rohan has never been an expansion people stick along long for.
