Tommie Smith and John Carlos receive the 2018 Tower Award

This year, SJSU recognizes the 50th anniversary of Tommie Smith and John Carlos’ impactful medal stand moment, which became a symbol for human rights. Tonight, Smith and Carlos receive the 2018 Tower Award, the university’s highest honor.
