UNTOUCHED Abandoned 1970's Time capsule *EVERYTHING LEFT BEHIND*

- this home was custom built in 1972 for a family of 3.
it was owned by what appears to be someone with a passion for fixing and building clocks.
everything about this place was original to the home décor wise.
sad to see it sit here in the middle of nowhere just rot away. - Розваги
You weren't playing when you said "untouched." It's rare to have a find like this. Nice!
Your uglying away too
I saw this house on another video. It is a bit more ransacked now, but not much. These finds always break my heart. The last occupant was the end of the line.
@j. kiser My Pringle’s have 24 hour expiration date. They never go stale.
Clearly not untouched since the 1970s with a can of 2000s pringles on the fridge. Cool video though
Its like the whole family left one day and never made it back. Kinda creepy and sad at the same time
Plane crashes with entire families aboard.
Portable tvs were the rage in the late 80s. That's what's at the top of the closet.
Seems to be an oscilloscope.
Same with the cd clock cds didn't come out till 82
Not to mention that living room tv and stove were easy 90s makes
We had one. I watched Luke & Laura get married on one of those in 1981
@@shaneapple8935 My cousins parents owned one just like that one .They would take it with them when they traveled out of town back in the 80s.Their parents used it in their camper to watch tv and listen to the radio .It plugged in to an outlet or could be batterie operated as well .
This looks like someone moved into a nursing home and the kids haven't moved the stuff out yet.
In the last 21 years!???
@@mercedesclark9282 I'm looking at from the stand point of working in a nursing home and listening to their kids. Old people keep all kinds of things like, papers, food that's sealed "because it's good if its sealed". I know for a fact that my own mother has things from the 90s that needs to go... man my father passed in the 80s and she still has most of his stuff.
Plot twist, they still live there but in a different dimension
🥺
@@mercedesclark9282 21 years and no dust on anything 🤔
It always freaks me out when personal photos are left behind. So sad.
Sometimes they leave pictures in frames in thrift shops so sad
@@JamieAug bexause maybe those people are no longer with us or maybe they just forgot...
Julie LibraArt70, it is sad to me too. I bet there's family members that would like to have those back. Those are special things that can't be replaced.
@@bonniebrown6960 The sad part is people die, their family forgets them or nonexistent. Eventually houses like these get cleaned out and the photo, essentially the remaining memory of these individuals existent is thrown away. In the end the experience and stories fade into oblivion and only a corpse in a buried box remains. That too will eventually to be gone.
There's another video of this house where they play one of the VHS tapes found in this house and it shows the former residents (including the click maker) opening Christmas presents in the same room that the urbexers are watching the VHS tape in. Very surreal. I can't remember who it was that put out that video but a search for "abandoned clock makers house" should bring it up, if anyone's interested.
I have figured out that you are an old soul. It makes me smile knowing that you have such a great appreciation for the cool old things and that you are person of integrity. I think you are amazing Ethan! I love the videos of your explorations. You do such a great job.
If I could get the address of this house, I'd put in a very generous offer to buy it. That house is absolutely breathtaking and needs to be preserved.
I am in love.
I hope you find a house available to purchase ! I think it's just awesome when people buy up these type houses to restore them and give them back their glory. I don't have budgets for that. I've always been living in vintage style interiors since '98.. still loving it !
Too bad some flipper will buy it and paint everything white
Looks like someone still lives there...
I agree with you 100% electric is still on. Also someone has to be paying the taxes and bills all these years. Definitely scary to go walking through a house thats "abandoned " could be a death sentence. I'd be scared to death the whole visit...😆 its a great video though. A true time capsule
Yeah they were probably terrified hiding under the bed!
@@nickpilkington9754😅😅😅
this home been filmed before the man died was a clock maker sas far i know what happen to the lady mystery
I watch your videos because you're the only one who completely respects the personal items of those who lived there.
Thank you
I think you are a good respectful person as well. But, I still think this place was not abandoned. My Grandfather owned 5 or 6 homes in 3 states when he passed. They weren't abandoned, he just couldnt be in all of them at once.
We enter the world with nothing and we leave with nothing. Personal possessions mean nothing.
bros of decay and Explomo also shows respect for the places. Check them out.
Same but where is this place?
I was born in 68 and we had alot of the styles and items in there. Cool find loved the trip back in time with all this nostalgia.
Ok so, clockmaker, he made a time machine and can’t return
A swinging wrecking ball stops for no man
A lot of time people go to a nursing home or pass away and family don't want to deal with the house and it's contents! Or they just take what they want and forget about the rest! It's sad!
A neighbor's family just rented haul away dumpsters and filled them up twice with most of the contents of the home after the elderly man passed away. Such a sad waste. They even left stuff behind for the new owners who are just tossing it. They've just put four appliances out on the curb. Not sure if they had them hauled to recycle or if a appliance store offered to take them. I am surprised that the family did not take more of the stuff. Maybe it was too hard emotionally to deal with. There were six children who actually lived quite close in the state.
@@rockymntain when our Dad died, my sister and I cleaned out his house! We took what we wanted, had an estate sale with the rest, and what didn't sell we either threw away, gave away, or put in our store room! And that was with the house being tore down! It was a lot of work, but the next people coming along shouldn't have to deal with!
@@karendworschack756 At least you were a good steward for the items that were left behind. I believe that whomever passes away would want someone to be able to benefit from their belongings. And, it keeps useful items out of the landfill that some people might still enjoy. I believe it's called upcycling.
@@rockymntain I hope over-consumerism and materialism i.e. "hoarding" is over

First of all - THOSE HANGING LIGHTS!!! those were super retro sweet!!
This was once a lovely home. This kind of find breaks my heart - seeing all of their possessions abandoned, all of the things that were so dear to “someone” just left behind.
So many cool 70’s memories in there ❤️

This house was built the year I graduated from highschool, seeing this house brings back memories of my house..like the color of dishwasher and cabinets in the kitchen I had also forgotten how popular the toliet seat covers were and the rug around the base!!!I bet they had some great partys in the den..love the fireplaces too.If only the walls could talk!!!
I'm 47 years old. I've watched allot of these abandoned places by allot of different hosts. THIS one really reminds me of the places I spent time in growing up. I wish I could BUY a place like this, memories/things and all...I LIKE this 'vintage' (normal to me) stuff and decor. Has allot of character!
Me as well, Im 45 and it’s weird that people think this is old, that 2001 is “old” 🤣😂
I feel the same, I'm 42 now and for me his is what a nice home looks like, I love the style and era, it has a bit of 70's, 80's, and 90's, just like many houses I grew up in
Three things I've noticed about the abandoned Canadian properties that you've explored-
1) Most of them still have power running.
2) Obviously, Canadians in the 70s WERE NOT AFRAID of mixing patterns and colors.
3) I'm under the impression that everyone in Canada took a vacation to Mexico at about the same time... And bought EXACTLY the same Sombrero as a souvenir.
😛
Nice work, Fellas! I enjoy watching your adventures.
Also a lot of them have big open staircases for the basements that often flood. Ive seen so many flooded basements and the air is open to the rest of the house, because of the staircase...im from Massachusetts, our basements occassionally flood if u live on like some kind of flat land or near an area of swamp/river. I lived on a former native american colony land near the namasket river but it only flooded during a BADDDD hurricane. Why in Canada do their basements flood soooo commonly?? The snow ?? Id rlly like to kno. And if they know this, why not have a door leading to the basement like we do here, to separate the areas?
I live in Canada & yes this is how our homes looked like back in that time.
What is best about your house tours is that you respect the property. You never touch anything. Love it!!!
I was born in 1969. I remember growing up in the 70s. This is such a great find. I'd love, to be the one to go through all the stuff and reminisce what I remember. It is so sad to think no one wanted to keep any of these memories.

U mean late 70’s u grew up in
Dude, hold the camera still for one second! Camera was moving so fast. Thanks for this video! Enjoyed it.
Wow! Always makes me wonder what the story is? Like is there no family left to get the family pictures and other items? Looks like it was never updated ever!
And if there wasn't a family why didn't the property then be snapped up, cleaned out and sold by the government ...... ?? Weird!!
@@claire040776 If there is no living family the government gets the home🤔? So all these abandoned homes I see on UA-cam belong to the government? Then why is the government allowing them to stay vacant and not putting a deserving family in them? Why are they left just to fall apart? There are so many people homeless that this is just pure wasteful😟.
@@glenchadwick420 And that is the fd up government for you!
Yea. Like, why did they leave? Why didn't they take their belongings? Wish we knew the story...
@@marksanchez8962 I think the elderly person was most likely alone in the home and either passed away in it, or was taken to a hospital or nursing home and died there. That would explain the car still in the garage and everything left in place.
This should be kept as a museum. Especially as the 1970s are back in fashion.

Such a cool house, Ethan. I'd love it if you showed us what's inside cabinets and drawers. Even in empty homes, it'd be cool to see how cabinets and drawers are laid out. We feel like you could be our grandson! We love your videos & really appreciate & admire your politeness. Thank you for your hard work & providing enjoyable entertainment!
Thank you!
This Home has so much potential. It was a Beautiful Home for it's time....and massive for 3 people. I would love to see it bought and redecorated.
This brings me back to my childhood. I noticed things like needing a microwave stand, they had a VCR, what looks like a cable box and DVD. Still too early for wifi, PCs, a gaming system, tablets, a collection of remotes and chargers. Lol. Thanks for this cool video.
Ethan, you are an old soul. It's like you should have grown up in my time. I was a kid from the 70s and it was an awesome time to grow up in. Seeing those untouched homes you are exploring takes me back to a time that is so precious to me. Thank you so much!
Either the people living here were very messy or items have been scattered everywhere since owner left. Who is paying electric bill and taxes? This split level is so typical of the period when the style was Mediterranean and colors of the time were harvest gold and avocado green. My first home was a split built in 1970. I had the wood paneling, royal blue bedroom carpet, dark cabinetry same as this house. Also popular was flocked and foil wallpaper. That green living room carpet is called plush, not shag. I had the same. Decor in this home is not all that old, less than 50 years. It’s ancient to you because you’re very young. Your grandkids will view your home in the same light as you’re viewing this home. I enjoyed your video. This home seems like yesterday to me.
This place needs to be preserved as a beautiful example of what life was once like.
Brought back a lot of good childhood memories. thank you so much for sharing and hope that no one finds this place and trashes it.
If the electric is still on, then someone has to be paying the bill.
Not always. U can start up and end power under ur name if he bought the place or someonelse did the power would be on. And if they low income it be nearly free and if a child is registered it don’t matter how long you are are late on electric it’s illegal for power to turn off due to payment based of ur area... I live in central ca and that’s our laws.
Did you just buy it and if so what are you doing with it.
the heat has to be on also because the walls will crack eventually if not. Even a brick building has to be heated at some where around 48 degrees I believe to avoid separation. Cracked mortar joints etc.
@@amberrose7495 no way in hell.
@@amberrose7495 I wish it was like that in NY! If you miss 3 payments they will shut you off. No matter the season and who lives with you (children, elderly, sickly).
I love all the clocks and 70s decor in this house. I'm a clock fanatic myself. I have over 16 clocks in my home. It's fun when they all chime at the same time.
Another thing that I love about your channel Ethan is that you are very respectful to the properties and the people who once lived there. Keep up the great work! See you in the next video!
My first thought watching this video is whoever lived here left in a hurry. Can we say witness protection.
That house should be used as a 70's museum. It had everything that was the newest things of the 70's. What fun it was totally a blast from the past. Nice job Ethan. ✌
You are right, they should have used it as a 70’s museum, I like those hanging lights. Maybe they had no next of kin, it made me sad they lost all those beautiful things. I hope you are doing good with your family?
Sad to see it in this state, but that’s a great house. I want my future home to be decorated as though it were the 70s.
Once again my favorite parts of this house are the basement bar and the lighting. It really is like walking into a time capsule.
I like those hanging lights, it made me sad they lost everything, I think they had no next of kin to claim their properties. I hope you are doing good with your family?
The thing on the shelf upstairs was a portable tv. I had one like it. They were advertised as personal tvs. I had a black and white one and later a handheld color. They were fun toys.
The early version of a laptop or tablet. LOL

“I don’t like the look of that switch. I’m not gonna touch it”😂
It doesn't surprise me!
You turn it. It was the almost first dimmer switch. I had one put in my bedroom in the 70s.
I always wonder what happened that makes people up and leave leaving their whole life behind... Like was there an emergency? Are they/were they still alive? Witness protection anyone lol?
It is nice though to imagine what type of people lived there and the lifestyle they had...
Beautiful house! You always have good finds! Oh and congrats on 40k man thats great!😎😁
I think a lot of times people grow old in their home. Eventually one of them dies, and the other stays until they can no longer manage, or they die. If there is no family and no mortgage, the house just sits, abandoned.
