I discovered BLACK GIVES WAY TO BLUE shortly after arriving in Afghanistan upon its release. I had a rough copy of it, so I had to use my imagination. But the opening track, "All Secrets Known," is a killer opening track signaling a resurrection to form. There is a ton of heart, pain, and ingenuity in that album. It's dark and restless. I listened to it quite a bit during that deployment. Since then, I guess I've always automatically considered that album as AIC "light"... a very convincing, highly authentic tribute to a band I adored in my later adolescence. I've seen them a couple of times - once around 2007, then again on the DINOSAURS tour. With the announcement of this reissue, I went back to listen to the album a few times and I have to say it's a truly exceptional album and it actually deserves to be released under the name Alice In Chains. I still feel that they could've done better than replacing Staley with DuVall, but he's grown on me and I just sort of accept that there's no AIC without him at this point. Plus, I guess I'd rather him than some sad attempt at replicating Staley. All that to say that BGWTB is an outstanding hard rock grunge album that stands on its own two feet and I have ordered a copy of the reissue. Hope it's mastered well from DSD (assuming by Chris Bellman) and not pressed by some crappy plant.
Didn;t know Live Burting Out was coming out on vinyl - I've preorderedthat that now. A couple that I've already preordered: 10,000 Maniacs MTV Unplugged. Been waiting for this for decades (on cobalt blue vinyl). Can't wait. And Kim Deal: Nobody Loves You More. Pixies, Breeders and now a solo album? She's a legend. Really can't wait for this.
Hey Nick. Thanks for posting this. As a newbie in the vinyl community (I posted my first video last week a response to Noble Records Summer Tag) I appreciate all of the time and effort that goes into posting new up and coming releases. Looking forward to the Tull, Davis, and MC5. Cheers.
I could be wrong, but you might want to double check your MILES 54 pre-order. I'm showing the CD version is $25 and the LP version is $112. If you got the LPs for the CD price, you're right; that's an absolutely insane deal.
No, I’ve double and triple checked it. It says it’s the 4LP set. Best Buy had it up for about an hour and then pulled it down. Last time I looked they didn’t have either version on their site, so I guess I’ll see what they ship me when it’s released.
@@TheVinylDen That's awesome, Nick. Happy if you get each LP for $6! I'll be interested to stream it if it hits Apple Music. About to complete my 5xLP collection of his "first great quintet" '55-56 Prestige-exit-sessions with the release of the MILES Craft OJC, cut by KPG and pressed by RTI. Have you heard it yet?
Building The Perfect Beast needs to be remastered! The old version is a Brick with no dynamics and it needs to breathe, so across 2 LP's should benefit. That Living Colour album is fantastic! I have the 1988 version and I saw them when they opened for The Rolling Stones in Toronto! Great show! The Green Day One-Step will be put out by Because Sound Matters, same company that put out the Linkin Park One-Steps.
I'm looking forward to the Eminem album, and already have the Pumpkins album pre-ordered. It's pronounced A Gory Morry May. A typical pretentious Pumpkins title. 😂
I’ll agree that most Billboard lists are irrelevant, especially since there’s hundreds of different ones each week so it’s not a big deal if an album lands on one, but the Billboard 200 is pretty widely seen as a legitimate achievement.
@@albumswithandy3561 it's not always accurate. Remember when many popular songs weren't allowed to chart because they didn't have an official physical single. Or how bout this one. Billboard called record stores to see what sold each week. Yet only called top chains for those numbers. Inaccuracies all over the board.
@@TheVinylDen only by the big dogs in the recording industry. I look at the charts and especially in the last 20 years, I own many albums by artists who barely scrap the chart or don't make it at all. It's all about the money. Pay for play.
@@JJ-qs9hu You are right that having an album in the Billboard 200 doesn’t necessarily equate to high quality (since music is very subjective), but it’s a good way to measure mainstream/mass appeal and popularity. The Billboard 200 is widely seen as that measuring stick.

The Purple Analogue Productions is the best sounding! Straight pressing from the master tapes!
I'm excited for the new Stryper and Jerry Cantrell. So far that's all I know coming out.

Hi Nick, Walmart and Target have the Bon Jovi as a 1 Lp release on colored vinyl. Both look pretty cool.
At Target. All I ever see in Target is Taylor. In blue, purple, pink... All Taylor 🙄. 😅
I'm looking forward to 10,000 Maniacs Unplugged, AIC Black Gives Way to Blue, STP 4 and Shangra LA Di Da, new Pumpkins, and the new Jerry Cantrell
You missed Everclear Songs from an American Movie vol 1 and
Better than Ezra's Friction Baby
Oh yeah, I’m not sure how I forgot Everclear since I’ve had it on preorder for a few months now. 😂
Hi Nick, I have the 2 CD version of the Bon Jovi Greatest Hits that came out in 2010. I think it was the same track list as the 4 lp version

Velvet Revolver on September 13th and House of Pain Same as it ever was on October 25th are 2 you didn’t mention that I have preordered .
Oh man, I completely forgot about that Velvet Revolver reissue!
Rhino is putting out an unnumbered version of the High Fidelity version of Black Sabbath first album.
Yeah, I think it’s going to be a Rocktober release from what I’ve seen.
You should really check out the Analogue Production Atlantic 75 Series of Core and Purple of STP. There outstanding
I almost picked them up, but $60 for an album is a little steep for me.
I'm looking forward to the Eminem album, and already have the Pumpkins album pre-ordered. It's pronounced A Gory Morry May. A typical pretentious Pumpkins title. 😂
I figured it was something like that. 😂
Why do you mention where an album landed on the Billboard 200? Billboard is a joke and not something to ever mention.
I’ll agree that most Billboard lists are irrelevant, especially since there’s hundreds of different ones each week so it’s not a big deal if an album lands on one, but the Billboard 200 is pretty widely seen as a legitimate achievement.
I agree. Hot 100 and Top 200 have been around for decades and a good measure of you've done well.
