Sir, could you please help.
We have a sedan and we are travelling to joshimath from delhi during Aug 15 weekend. What route should be take !
Option 1 rishikesh route
Option 2 via kotdwar / pauri / srinagar
Option 3 via haldwani / dwarahat / karnaprayag
option 1 has landslide risk and other routes looks lengthy. Please suggest.

During monsoon, Rudraprayag to Joshimath route is more prone to landslides than the rest of the route, so be careful, drive only in broad daylight and be updated with the weather forecast during your journey.
Plan in such a way that if you have to spend 2-3 extra days then it can be managed. Stay in touch with local people for better weather information. If it has been raining continuously for several hours or if there is an alert, then avoid traveling at that time.
There is no need to panic - local people, buses and taxis ply on this route all season, so even when the road is closed due to landslides, they are opened by the district administration as quickly as possible.
