Great video. I bought a BMW 2 weeks ago and took it for an oil change. Because the last person who changed the oil tightened/torqued the oil plug too much the threads were stripped when the pulled out the plug. Very expensive repair. Just wanted to throw this comment on here in case anyone has experienced the same and for those that hopefully have this information and never have to go through this. Thanks!
When I first got my 2016 X5 xdrive35i I thought it had a twin turbo as well for the first few years. When I learned about twin scroll, I was pissed off! 😆
@@benten6301 Twin scroll is just 1 turbo . The “scroll” is a spiral path that the exhaust gases take when they enter the turbine section of a turbocharger. This reduces turbo lag. Twin turbos.....well.......are 2 turbos.
I would disagree, a full synthetic oil change runs me around $40, or a little over 1 penny per mile at 3k intervals. It helps your engine stay well lubricated and clean. I think it's worth it.
@@SergeyPip or you could spend a penny per 3 miles and have the same level of lubrication. It’s your money so you can do with it what you please, but to imply that it’s wrong to use as directed is very misleading. Not to mention that you’re having to discard 7 quarts of oil 3 times faster than you actually needed to.

Thanks for the video. I think you're supposed to snap the new filter onto the top before screwing back into the canister.
Yea he installed the filter incorrectly.
Wow, great video, brother. Smooth and simple. You gave me the confidence to do my own X5. Subscribed and liked. Thanks!
Thank you Sergey, keep up the great work and great content
my BMW mechanic introduced me to Motul 8100 X-Cess 5w40. It is a premium oil for your auto. I change out twice a year or 6k miles. My car thinks me.
Thank you for the video just did this with my dad and myself
I came here to see if anybody had a commented about a 3000 mile oil change on synthetic fuel
Great video! Thanks for your time and dedication. Les NJ
Help me a lot even I just had the oil changed at a shop, but I will wait and do it myself soon.

The original BMW 0W-30 (7L) with Mann filter at FCP Euro costs just above $80, I would go with that.

Where did you put jack stand and the jack?
Where did you place the jackstand? I’ve been looking for a good location.
I usually put it under a bigger control arm, or cross-member
Thank you it wasnt to hard...
Do you really need to jack up the vehicle?

Not a twin turbo. Single turbo. It has a twin scroll turbo

Changing synthetic oil at 3,000 miles is a huge waste of money and the engine won’t be any better off
