If only Disney believed in this concept, I bet Disney Infinity 4.0 could be revived by getting rid of the toys to life mechanic and simply have a full crossover Disney game where any of the characters from past games and new ones are present
Unfortunately with Disney, the second it stops making them money it's no longer worth it in their opinion. So unless there's enough demand for it (which unfortunately there isn't) it ain't gonna happen.
@@blackvendaeta7104 Indeed, and back when Infinity 3.0 was released, the toys-to-life genre was already oversaturated with Skylanders and Lego Dimensions to the point where it began to die out, as gamers were probably tired of due to how expsensive it would be to get every character.
So sad 4.0 got cancelled, but we got a lot of concept art and a video of gameplay that was only partially done! Plus, we still get to play the first 3! I love these games, and can’t wait for more things to be seen of what could’ve been in 4.0!!
Even though we will (I’m 99% sure) never get more content coming out for these games, it’ll be in our hearts infinitely! We love them and I’m sure many people will be playing these for a long time! We love you Disney Infinity! Happy 1st decade!

I had heard for ages that one of the planned vehicles that they toyed around with that got scrapped was actually Benny the Cab from Roger Rabbit. To be honest, the amount of things that never made it is shocking.
The Badoon is actually a species of aliens and not a unique character, and if I recall were originally planned to feature in the first Guardians of the Galaxy film before being replaced by the Sakaarans, so I'm pretty sure they were meant to be enemies in the Guardians playset if I were to guess.
Happy 10th anniversary Disney Infinity! Thanks for covering everything that could have been but at least we can be happy for what we got while it lasted. 10 years of great memories all thanks to this game.

Even after a whole decade, Disney Infinity remains one of my favorite Disney video games EVER. I was lucky enough to get ahold of one of the Peter Pan figures as well. In addition to Peter, the other scrapped content I'd have like to see come true are the Kingdoms Toy Box Story Mode, Moana Playset, Darkwing Duck, Jafar, Goofy, Jiminy Cricket (even if he wasn't meant to be playable), and the Premium figures of Buzz Lightyear, Jack Skellington, and Ursula
It's hard to believe the greatest toys to life game ever made came into our lives 10 years ago! I knew the game had a lot of scrapped content, but I had no idea it had so much scrapped content! I'd have to say my favorite scrapped thing, aside from the entirety of 4.0, would be the Frankenweenie playset.
Happy Birthday Disney Infinity. I'm so glad I've had as much fun with the games over the years. I still go back to it. I'm still devastated about all the content that was lost during the game's life and when it was canceled. 4.0 would have been amazing and it's a such a shame we will probably never see any of it released.
Man I miss this game. As much as I loved being a collector of the physical figures, I honestly would have loved to see a rebooted version of this game that got rid of the toys to life features. Maybe then it would've been more successful.
Oh definitely, they confirmed the reason the game got cancelled is because they put too much money into figures that people didn't want and so they were spending more than they were making on creating and shipping out the characters. If they did a reboot, made it solely digital, it would be doing amazingly. They could even plausibly try to attempt to sell the characters separately, just digitally, but I don't entirely know how well that would go. I think Skylanders eventually stopped because people realized they were spending way too much money on one game just to play certain characters.

My favorite scrapped thing was the cancelled sequel Disney Infinity 4.0 Kingdoms. That game would've made a good story that I would add to my game adventure list. I love how Disney characters come together and fight the forces of evil. A new action adventure game with Disney characters and worlds would've been an awesome game. I mean I would definitely play that game if it really exists. It would've been super fun!

I am a obsessed Infinity fan. Man I wished they had came out with a 4th one. If they did they could have scraped all the Marvel (one of my gripes about DI... too much Marvel!) and concentrated on classic Disney. Two properties that come to mind that Disney could have made figures and toy boxes for would be Roger Rabbit and Toontown and Winnie the Pooh and The Hundred Acre Woods. Neverland and Duckberg would have made great toy boxes as well. It's a damn shame that the "toys to life" games came to an sudden end (Lego Dimensions cratered at the same time as Infinity and I like that game as well).
It probably never would have worked. Because of the character mechanics and setting up a weird underwater play set. But I would have loved to see Ariel from The Little Mermaid as a playable character. Mostly for the childhood and nostalgia factor but also have some of-the toys focused on the classic Disney with an action set. The Kingdom Hearts games were good at that.
It wasn’t Olaf that stole Darkwing’s spot, it was apparently Peter Pan. Darkwing actually won the fan poll, but Disney wanted to push Pan because it was the more brand recognizable franchise.
Peter Pan actually got the most votes for the fan poll. The other two characters that were close to winning the fan poll were Darkwing Duck (Like you said) and Mabel from Gravity Falls.

It was not so bad, the characters, the places, weapons, and enemies were kind of cool. But the figure console of summon was a bit something that doesn't have a feeling of selection choices in the game.
So glad I found this channel! I absolutely loved ALL of these games, my niece was only very little when we used to spend HOURS just building things and fighting baddies. A lot of nostalgia here.
Watching this video does bring back some memories. I know I was the first in my hometown to get the game because I came into Walmart just when they started to stock the shelves. I think the scrapped content here that I'm the most disappointed about is Ferb because his removal makes Phineas and Perry feel incomplete. I get he's not as popular as Perry, but what's Phineas and Ferb without Ferb? Also, a Phineas and Ferb playset would've been awesome. I hope this game does come back someway. I would like it if they made it so we don't have to spend so much money on the characters we want to play as.

Well, apparently, maybe doofenshmirtz would be in a 2 pack with ferb, along with the game piece playset. Yes, and then after they scrapped the phineas and ferb playset, they made phineas and perry only in the toy box.
If Disney infinity had been a PC game with online "toystore" instead of a toys to life game they'd have been able to give us playable and costume versions of every character as well as playsets for every movie and new toybox packs.
I agree. Going the DIGITAL route would make lots of money in today's gaming landscape. It's sad, they cancelled this project/platform WAY, WAY to early.

Was such a good game and one of my favorite's ever. I have every figure ever released but they are all open and played with. We haven't played the game in a while now but will have to give it all a go again someday soon. What could've been and maybe someday what could be again. Such an innovative idea
I loved Disney Infinity. Some of this content would have been great. Knowing Rex, my favorite Star Wars character, was close to being a figure pains me to my core!
I’m actually surprised by the fact that Simba never made it into the game, not even scar. Also considering that I became an avatar fan seeing wave of the water, it’s kind of unfortunate that Jake and Neytiri never got completed model figures.
Imagine if we had disney infinity 4.0 where they just decided "Meh we may aswell try and see how they go, we can always get rid of them if they are terrible!". And they just like added all of this into it- So much content..
If the Rogue One Play Set had come out, do you think they’d have changed the ending? Like maybe have the team survive and barely escape the Death Star firing? Or would they have kept everyone getting obliterated and finish the story mode with the Hallway Scene?
i remember playing this on my ipad i had so much fun even though i never got any other character aside from mr incredible still i love the game shame what happened, but i will always have it in a special place in my heart happy anniversary🙂
Ending this game is still the worst decision in video game history. We now have Speedstorm and Dreamlight valley which both seem to me like extensions of what DI was attempting to do. The Yellow car looks like a Test Track car
i used to have so much fun with these games back on the wii u and was so exited for each new character rlease they did was a real good game series too, hearing that we would have goten belle and beast from the luive action movie is making me sad becauyse unlike the critics online to me that movie was the best disney live action adaption they ever made with my fave acresss emma in it too it is pretty much exactly how i wanted a live action version to stay very true to original would loved to have those two as figures in my infnity shelf also omg darkwing duck it was my fave cartoon back in the day when it first aired rewatched it so many times on vhs that my dad recorded of tv with many other disney shows from that era

I had an ipad 2 with Disney infinity on it, unfortunately my brother formatted it, at that time it meant nothing, looking back at it; it just gives me so much nostalgia... I miss the old days. I just remember that game to this day, I would fight with my siblings just to play that game.. it's just you don't understand how much something means to you until you lose it. Just seen this and I'm definitely wishing they continued with 4.0. Most upset with the Marvel ones that were scraped. Hopefully this comes back in someway.
I didn’t know there was so much scrapped from this series. I’m a Star Wars fan and I loved rouge one, so learning of a canceled play set for that movie is such a shame. The same thing goes for all of the rebels stuff too, but at least we got some of that before cancelation.

Honestly 4.0 wasn't heading in a good direction. The rerelease of characters is extremely lame for the people who've stuck with the game for years. Not having a ton more Disney classics and blatantly ignoring massively fan requested characters like Mabel/Dipper makes the cancellation bittersweet for me... How could they have so much gravity falls in 3.0 and not have the characters...
Can you do a video on what we can still do with Disney Infinity? My son is just getting into it but of course we are restricted with a lack of online content.
Basically the only things you cannot do are upload/download/share Toyboxes and no online multiplayer anymore. However, MP is possible on Playstation. I should do a video on it.
I think if Disney had implemented a monthly pay for toybox uploads/downloads and server usage for online cross play, they would have made their money and then some. Instead they just thought of the quick lining of their pockets and to heck with the fans/players. Here's to you content creators STILL providing us with limitless fun that Disney corporation wouldn't live up to.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
It’s really sad to see what could have been, but you know what I wish we could have seen? Kingdom Hearts content. Yeah, there’s the one super exclusive D23 disk, but imagine a full on Sora figure and playable character with something like a Traverse Town or Twilight Town play set. I mean, MAYBE 4.0 could have gotten there if it had been released since you know, it’s called Kingdoms, but who knows.
Honestly, it kind of seems like the Monsters University stuff was originally going to be Monsters _Inc._ stuff. I’m noticing a lot of the scrapped characters come from that movie specifically. It might’ve been changed to tie in with the newer movie.

I agree. There's lots of great games (Epic Mickey comes to mind), but Disney Infinity stands as #1 for me. Gone way, way to soon...

Super fun and addressed all the criticism of the Toybox and playsets tbh. It's such a shame we never got to experience it. :(

There was a Finding Nemo/Dory playset, so they had found a way to include water characters into the game
They could have used her human form

Well, apparently, maybe doofenshmirtz would be in a 2 pack with ferb, along with the game piece playset. Yes, and then after they scrapped the phineas and ferb playset, they made phineas and perry only in the toy box.
My mother used to work on this game, and originally, there was a scrapped concept for 4.0 which was an Indiana Jones Figure, and play set!

From my understanding, it would've been focused more on blending all the IP's together in shared experiences.
If Disney infinity had been a PC game with online "toystore" instead of a toys to life game they'd have been able to give us playable and costume versions of every character as well as playsets for every movie and new toybox packs.
I agree. Going the DIGITAL route would make lots of money in today's gaming landscape. It's sad, they cancelled this project/platform WAY, WAY to early.

Was such a good game and one of my favorite's ever. I have every figure ever released but they are all open and played with. We haven't played the game in a while now but will have to give it all a go again someday soon. What could've been and maybe someday what could be again. Such an innovative idea

I loved Disney Infinity. Some of this content would have been great. Knowing Rex, my favorite Star Wars character, was close to being a figure pains me to my core!

Also considering that I became an avatar fan seeing wave of the water, it’s kind of unfortunate that Jake and Neytiri never got completed model figures.
Imagine if we had disney infinity 4.0 where they just decided "Meh we may aswell try and see how they go, we can always get rid of them if they are terrible!". And they just like added all of this into it- So much content..
The developers were in the middle of all the development when they were told to stop. Such a shame.

If the Rogue One Play Set had come out, do you think they’d have changed the ending? Like maybe have the team survive and barely escape the Death Star firing? Or would they have kept everyone getting obliterated and finish the story mode with the Hallway Scene?

i used to have so much fun with these games back on the wii u and was so exited for each new character rlease they did was a real good game series too, hearing that we would have goten belle and beast from the luive action movie is making me sad becauyse unlike the critics online to me that movie was the best disney live action adaption they ever made with my fave acresss emma in it too it is pretty much exactly how i wanted a live action version to stay very true to original would loved to have those two as figures in my infnity shelf also omg darkwing duck it was my fave cartoon back in the day when it first aired rewatched it so many times on vhs that my dad recorded of tv with many other disney shows from that era

i really miss Disney infinity. I had an ipad 2 with Disney infinity on it, unfortunately my brother formatted it, at that time it meant nothing, looking back at it; it just gives me so much nostalgia... I miss the old days. I just remember that game to this day, I would fight with my siblings just to play that game.. it's just you don't understand how much something means to you until you lose it.

I didn’t know there was so much scrapped from this series. I’m a Star Wars fan and I loved rouge one, so learning of a canceled play set for that movie is such a shame. The same thing goes for all of the rebels stuff too, but at least we got some of that before cancelation.

Honestly 4.0 wasn't heading in a good direction. The rerelease of characters is extremely lame for the people who've stuck with the game for years. Not having a ton more Disney classics and blatantly ignoring massively fan requested characters like Mabel/Dipper makes the cancellation bittersweet for me... How could they have so much gravity falls in 3.0 and not have the characters...
I think they based a lot of it on sales predictions and whatnot.
I played this game with my kids we loved it when it was live i still have it and play time to time but man do i miss the figures

My son is just getting into it but of course we are restricted with a lack of online content.
Basically the only things you cannot do are upload/download/share Toyboxes and no online multiplayer anymore. However, MP is possible on Playstation. I should do a video on it.

I think if Disney had implemented a monthly pay for toybox uploads/downloads and server usage for online cross play, they would have made their money and then some. Instead they just thought of the quick lining of their pockets and to heck with the fans/players. It’s really sad to see what could have been, but you know what I wish we could have seen? Kingdom Hearts content. Yeah, there’s the one super exclusive D23 disk, but imagine a full on Sora figure and playable character with something like a Traverse Town or Twilight Town play set. I mean, MAYBE 4.0 could have gotten there if it had been released since you know, it’s called Kingdoms, but who knows.

Honestly, it kind of seems like the Monsters University stuff was originally going to be Monsters _Inc._ stuff. I’m noticing a lot of the scrapped characters come from that movie specifically. It might’ve been changed to tie in with the newer movie.

They did make toy figures (Toybox line) using the same art style, but those seem to be over too.
