Honestly the taxi comments made this video. I have actual tears of laughter. For me this is hands down the best and funniest video you’ve ever done. Absolute gold 😂😂😂
Here's a tip for waste oil. Get 10inch water filters. Three in a row and use the cheap paper filter. 0.5 Micron final step. The finer the better. 0.2 clogged too quickly but 0.5 was good. The filter housing uses standard fittings and get a pump to pump the good stuff. Works like a charm
Alex said TX4 and my immediate thought was "Those are common rail and they get terrible fuel mileage" but they made it worse by buying a ticking timebomb transit engined TX2 lol
@@atherrien95 It's probably the most efficient in terms of MPG, and is generally the smoothest running as well. But it being common rail is bad in this context because it means the injectors are finer and are more susceptible to being clogged up, so you can't use cooking oil mixed into your fuel. My dad actually drives a TX4 with the 2.5 VM Motori Chrysler common rail engine, the injectors are so fine that you can't actually see or feel the holes in the injectors with your bare eyes and hands. It's also very 'thirsty'. Goes through diesel like it's nothing, since it's heavy and has basically no torque. I've been thinking about undertaking a project with my dad wherein we swap a 1.9 TDI PD VW motor into his TX4 since those have boat loads more torque and are likely more economical. Unfortunately it would have to stay auto, although a tiptronic would be nice.
@@Darkest_matter What do you mean by that? I didn't write anything clever intentionally lol. Unless you're talking about how the last line has 3 words in a row that start with T?
If you start to use veg oil in a vehicle that has always used diesel change the fuel filter after the first tank full has gone through. This is because veg oil is thicker than diesel and picks up any crap in the tank. If there's a lot of crap at the first filter change you may need to change the filter again after another couple of tank fulls. You can thin veg oil out by using methylated spirit (but you must pay fuel duty and VAT on the meths) if you get any running issues due to thick veg oil
That's exactly the reason why veg oil is the price it is today ~£1 per litre, because the last time there was a spike in fuel price everyone realised they could use veg, then the government realised they could tax it more aswell win win for them
@@funguy7218 The government didn’t tax it more. The supermarkets and suppliers just had to charge more as demand went up. It’s been going on for 20 odd years. Happens less effectively now as most people don’t want to drive a vehicle old enough to do it. Also the saving isn’t that great unless you have a very thirsty car or do mega miles.
here in Hungary, common people for 5 seat cars pay around 1.05 pounds, for me in my company car which is also my main car, i pay the full state price which is around 1.85 to 2 pounds

I live in France, in about October bought a kit of the internet for €150 to convert my petrol fiesta to e85, at the moment diesel and petrol are both €2 per litre, whereas today the E85 has fallen to €0.75. I loose about 10% range but get that back in performance feels a bit jumpier but does struggle on cold mornings.
I've got a 2014 ford focus 1.6 diesel. Get 60mpg on normal drives, nearer 70mpg on a good motorway run, and over 45mpg towing my 750kg trailer tent... At 60mpg with the new fuel prices in still better than a 30mpg car at the old price 🤙
You can also use old engine oil from any oil changes/ or and mix with oil. btw did you not think the motor started to stink like a graesy spoon? I used to run a old pd 100 seat Ibiza 1998 plate on these, just had to do a more regular fuel filter change.
Can I just point out that, because most of the UK's cooking oil also comes from Ukraine and Russia and supplies are running low, buying new cooking oil is not something that should be recommended given that it is also still needed for cooking. Used oil from chippies and the like is another matter
There's still a Skoda Fabia 1.9 SDI going strong in my family. It is slow and sluggish but parts are cheap and it's fuel efficient. And yeah, I drive 1.2 Clio, 8v one. It's also slow but I don't spend too much money on fuel, and it gets me from point A to point B in these expensive times 😬
Intercom is nice but i normally prefer intercum, its a little more personal, makes u feel more connected with the passenger, it just feels better u know?
What's the situatuoin with LPG in UK? I drive on LPG and according to the quick maths i did it comes out to be 52% cheaper than gasoline per kilometer driven. And just recently i've noticed LPG prices drop so it's even cheaper still. People around me are absolutely reeling from the fuel price hike and i'm here chilling with my LPG system. You may say that LPG is extra cost for the equipment, and that is true but it doesn't need servicing often (if ever really), is simple, reliable and parts pay for themselves very quickly, especially with current fuel prices. For example i recently changed out my LPG fuel regulator after it's been in service for 10 years! Price for a new one? Just 60€ and it paid for itself within the first four weeks. Anyways, i'm going back to watching the video as i'm only 4 minutes in.
Other than some bloke getting a womans tongue near his dirt star this answered almost all my questions. I would love to see how a modern engine that "isnt meant to run veg" handles it though. Do you still have that volvo D5?
I’m so glad I retired just before the massive rise in fuel prices, or else I’d be spending £5-600 a month commuting, instead of the £40 I am now. Only got to worry about paying leccy bills now…
According to the Shogun group I'm in, you can expect to have to change the fuel filter soon, as the veg cleans out the tank and can cause rapid build up of crap in the filter.
A lot of regular UK fuel pumps (i.e. not the special HGV and coach ones) also limited you to £99. Guess that's been temporarily binned. But you guys have the legendary G Whiz. Only problem there is that electricity has also got too expensive, so swings and roundabouts.

I have the answer Mitsubishi Colt CZ1 i bought mine 4 years back for £600 and it is still working , no repairs ever to it except brakes and tyres and for £5 of petrol it does 35 miles and tax is only £10 a month and on the track it can hit 120mph but good lord it feels so unsafe , as it only weighs 980kg and the metal is paper thin but apart from the safety issues it gets me from A to B , until i can save for an E car
Good video, loved the Fake Taxi bits, now we know what you three do in your spare time, and does explain why Alex has large biceps ? Do you know the cost of the filtering setup, so you can use chip shop oil ?
They still sell vegetable oil at the supermarket in the UK? It's sold out everywhere here in the Netherlands. Like the toilet paper thing all over again.
