Maybe, there's a questionable scene at 28 sec and I was disappointed they used a child for this song anyway. I can see why someone would think he's there to be healed, early in the video he's grasping his chest plus the lyrics. But If you check out their other video Road to Nowhere, there's also a young boy who had been kidnapped and the implication of sexual abuse. I think they've left the meaning ambiguous intentionally.
No, I see the story as about a child who is sick. He knows he is going to die and know medicine is going to work. He heard of the story of the forest goddess, she isn't known for kindness but he knows she could heal him. He just tried his luck with her and wasn't afraid. That's why the goddess didn't attack him since there was nothing malicious about the intent but also didn't want him to get the wrong idea that she's nice .
