- What an unexpected surprise; I read in the patch notes that bosses were getting their music replaced and hoped for a second Shadowbringers boss theme! The older mini-boss themes really broke up the flow of the SHB dungeons in my opinion so it's great that that's been addressed.

I kinda like how the Primals version of Insatiable is the miniboss theme, while the regular version is the main boss theme.
This version feels like a brawl against a savage beast, while the regular version feels like an uphill battle against an overwhelming foe.
ShB had the best mechanic teaching bosses

This is 4th Anniversary Remix from Dissidia. I approve.
It's by "The Primals", which includes Soken as one of their members. They cover alot of XIV songs that are used in various areas of the game, including Ultimate raids.

This song makes you feel so damn heroic. Immediately hyped tanking to this when it kicked on.
No matter what anyone else says, this will always be my favorite midboss theme. The others were just... less memorable and felt more generic, but I can’t help bop my head anytime this theme starts playing.
3:50 where it's at, the intensifying of the drum beats and the fade out to the guitar being the focus as the song closes out is just /sublime/.
Hnnngggg, that bass is the real star of this version! I would've believed it if you told me this was a huskybythegeek version.

about time we got a new mini boss theme
Wish this happened at the start of the expansion. I'll admit that the old mini-boss theme really ruined the flow and atmosphere of Amaurot for me. Better late then never though.
I really like this version a lot it's so fitting.
The first time you hear Insatiable in the first dungeon it starts slow and has a buildup as if the boss is such a new terror to you and its agression in attack patterns is nothing like you've ever seen in past bosses before. By the time you start hearing this version you've faced so many of the threats of the first and have gotten used to fighting the ferocious bosses of this foreign land that the theme just starts hard and wont let up as if this place has already battle hardened you and you're telling the bosses that YOU are the threat this time.
This track is pure HYPE! 👏👏

0:25 - 1:03 when you Q a dungeon for the first time this is sound of you and your sprout party getting your shit kicked in by the first appearance of the boss mechanic, coming out the other side of it with less than 30% health
While I didn't mind the other mini boss theme this one is way better
I got Amaurot for level 80 roulette. I'm sure I'll get used to it but this didn't seem like a good fit compared to the old theme for the first two bosses.
This theme really threw me for a loop when I heard it day 1 in a Grand Cosmos run.
Can we get some appreciation for that sweet sweet bass guitar

Going through Shadowbringers as a GNB made the whole thing so much more immersive. Same with Endwalker as RPR.

I was trying to find this version on the official soundtrack but was sad to find it wasn’t there.
Insatiable (Scions & Sinners) is the name for this and it's on a seperate soundtrack.

The Dissidia version was made by the PRIMALS, you know, the one that Soken works with? Its the same one.

As for the older ones I think he didnt get involved. Just with Shadowbringers's content in Dissidia NT.
The older ones were arranged by Takeharu Ishimoto who composed the original Dissidia OST, Crisis Core, Type-0, Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep and from volume 1 - 3 of Dissidia NT he left Square Enix late last year. That's why Vol. 4 is outsourced to other composers and PRIMALS

A really nice surprise after all these years and expansions that "mini-bosses" get a new theme, they REALLY needed it.
All the midbosses do have different themes though. Every expansion has a different midboss theme, so they were constantly getting new themes. Tho I guess technically this is the first actual new theme since ARR as the HW and SB ones were both taken from 1.0

I'm so glad they added these to the lvl 80 dungeons. The generic boss themes were so jarring and out of place.
Shame there's no Hard Mode Dungeons this time around. I would have loved if this played for the HMD Final Bosses rather than every mini-boss of Shadow Bringers.

It’s really strange and fitting. I like this version a lot, but the original version still fits the best for “Final dungeon boss”. This mixes up the preceding bosses by still giving them some hype.
This is a great theme, but it kinda weakens the impact of "Insatiable" on the final boss for me.
DevilRold I almost feel like it would’ve been better if “Insatiable” was the mid boss theme and this was the final dungeon boss theme

@@AlexAV25 Me too (and don't get me wrong this theme is a banger), but what I meant is that, after hearing this remix twice in a dungeon, Insatiable just doesn't sound as satisfying and powerful as before.
@@DevRold it does to me. This feels like I'm fighting someone who is trying to be tough but isn't. The original is just too amazing at this point.
@@darkliger269 If 5.3 gives us a new boss theme, I'd be happy with Insatiable being the first boss, this theme being the second boss, and something even more intense for the third boss, if not a unique (since we're only getting one dungeon nowadays, it's probably a lot more plausible) theme for itself.
That way, it'd be a nice ramp up in intensity. As things are right now, it sounds like the OST mellows out when we fight the big bad.
I just realize the first boss is Unknown which originally appeared in FFVII.

Was never much a fan of the mini boss fight theme - I do like this remix a lot more. That being said, Insatiable still takes the cake.
I dunno, i'm actually a bigger fan of this one over Insatiable. Insatiable makes sense for the main msq, but something about this one is just better for fights imo

That first boss is a reference to FFVII enemy by the same name, which you encounter in the Sunken Gelnika.
In case you didn't know this is the 4th anniversary mixed for Dissdia NT still a bop I would've preferred it as a final boss of the dungeon theme

That they finally fixed the dungeon boss music problem is such a long time coming it's kind of sad how long it took. But at least it happened.

It means that the mini boss theme has been replaced, the final bosses of the dungeons have the original version of Insatiable.
what did the non final bosses have as music before this? stuff we already heard or?

@@itsatentaquil3152 Wrong, it played the Stormblood midboss theme. The ARR midboss theme literally only plays in ARR dungeons. HW got a different one (To The Fore) and SB also got a different one (shortened version of Phantoms on the Lake retitled as "Persistence")

I have never once, since this game came out, ever heard ANYONE say 14's music wasn't real music. Hell, the music alone got a lot of nongamers I know to want to actually try the game.
@@aliciafraser1835 They probably don't mean that people have insulted FFXIV's music specifically, but society in general has shunned video game OSTs that don't have lyrics in them and called them "not real music" because it didn't have lyrics. That's just my guess, anyway.
