  • We spend 3 days camping at and hiking at Injisuthi in the KZN Drakensberg mountains. Spectacular views during our hikes. On day 2 we start off on an easy hike. It begins at the campsite and continues to the the old dipping tank and back via the yellowwood forest. Light hearted to get the muscles warmed up.
On day 3 was a bit unplanned... and we had no idea how strenuous it would be. Total round trip was approx 29 km and took us approx 8 hours. Hike started at campsite, through Cataract Valley, via Old womans stream to the Battle Caves and back to the campsite. We were there in November and was very hot in the day but thankfully we got a very early start... and then had to rush back in the end with the thunderstorm. Lots of cooling off points with the gorgeous streams along the way.

Injasuti is named from the lieral zulu traslation "statisfied dog" *inja' means dog and "suti" means had enought to eat. When speaking Zulu, people often leave out the first part of the word.

Hahaha that was a bit of a climb. Yes we have encountered one or two. But they just move off the path.
