I remember them, bright blue metal called a "Spudmatic", as you said, push it into a spud and squeeze trigger, a mini air gun but only with potato pellets or water, corks and caps, marketed by Lonestar. Had one about 61 years ago.

Why so many locks?
I'm very surprised that you & your Northants Team have not seriously injured your poor Backs while hauling these heavy items out! I mean, I once lifted something into the Truck Bed & ended up for almost 9 mos in bed while my back healed( and then I was only in my 30's). Can happen to anybody!
