THIS SHORT STORY FEATURES ADRIAN JEWELL FROM THE SMALL FISHING VILLAGE OF PORTHALLOW IN CORNWALL.
AS IS NORMAL, FOR MANY LIKE ADRIAN, HIS INCOME IS UNPREDICTABLE.
BUT THIS IS A PRICE HE IS WILLING TO PAY, IN RETURN FOR A QUALITY OF LIFE, LIVING IN HARMONY WITH THE SEASONS.
Great video -tremendous insight ---loved the winkle picking
Loving all these documentaries, Jed. Especially the Nutty series!! All the best, Mark
Thanks Mark that's lovely to hear. It would be nice if you could subscribe to my channel if you already have not done so
Being your own boss - Awesome. Great work environment too 👍💯💯
A man from my own heart. I spent most of my life doing the same. Good luck to you
Respect to you Jed pure and simple 100% admiration
Thanks
You are eating and living very healthy.!!
It's strange watching a man making a living out of something I did as a hobby. Collecting edible Willocks as we call them, cleaning them, boiling them then eating them, we all did it as kids. Now they are harder to find but if you know where to go, they are still a available. Unfortunately, most of today's kids would not be interested. Mobile phones, internet etc etc takes precedence.
Watching how he caught the Fish, we call long lining and when the Fish are running it can be productive. Love these vids, keep them coming.
This is how commercial fishing is supposed to be. Just imagine how healthy the oceans would be if fishermen worked this way instead of the factory ships etc
Youve got an awesome office, and i envy your job, keep up the great work
Thanks for this. Love Porthallow. Spent many, many happy times there in the 70 's. The Tripp and Jewel families had boats on the beach and spent happy days fishing and potting with them. Dived the Manacles, many wrecks and always dined on large plaice , crayfish ,lobsters and mackerel, ( don't remember any bass ). The ' Taranaki ' cottage was our base and evenings were spent playing darts, cards and singing in the 5 pilchards. Great days. 👍.
Thanks for your comments
Like everywhere in Cornwall you would find a lot has changed in recent years, local families can no longer afford to live there it is now mainly summer lets.
Reading your comments certainly bring back good memories 0f the 70's
Brilliant channel the hard work will pay off stick with your channel it's going to be big
Thank you so much your comments are greatly appreciated
Loved this buddy tight lines and fair sea’s 😇
Hi Jed please can you pass my contact details to the fisherman in the video as I’ve a bit of business he might be able to help with ? Tell him to ask for Anthony …..as I’m looking for peeler crabs for fishing I buy them in 100 upwards lots maybe he can supply me ????
actually I'm an angler who used to fish the manacles as a boy in the 1970s and 80s with my dad-we used to get DOGS abuse from the commercial boats...as they merrily fished it out 😞
Perfect example of a man that is happy with just enough to get by and not be part of todays greed culture where more is better.
What year is this please Jed?
Thank you for a fantastic video Jed, really enjoyed it. Keep going mate and keep the faith?
