😂😂😂 Im chalk full of info. National championships for high school is a little opinionated sprinkled in with other factors. MaxPreps and one other major media Source declare their own national champions just about every year now and it's taken somewhat seriously. But for a long time now, USA Today has given their top 25 list at the beginning of the year for the nation. The top-25 can shift around based on wins and losses but if the number one team goes undefeated and wins the State title for their state, they tend to get named national champion. That's what happened for my school in 1997. McKinley from Canton Ohio, was named the preseason number one team in the nation and they went undefeated and won the State title and were awarded the national title. Had McKinley lost even just one game oh, the title would have went to the number two team as long as they went undefeated.
@@JimTrussell thanks for the detailed reply. To be honest, I don't really follow HS football. TIGERS just lack one thing.....size consistently at every offensive line position. These kids are football studs but we are usually undersized against the Hobans and Ignatius' of the world. Games are won and lost at line of scrimmage. The skill position players are every bit as good as anyone but we come up a little short when it comes to weight and height on offensive line. Maybe not this year? Wheres an Anthony Munoz when you need him for that week 15?
This is what Coach Prime was talking about. Some of these highschools facilities are state of the art, and HBCU are third world. Once these black millionaires make it, they forget where they came from.
Yes and no. High school facilities are either covered through city tax or private donations. An HBCU like other universities either has to fund itself or get money through donations. i've had the video paused at 0:24 for a while due to me being in shock. high school FB has national championships??!!?? since when? i'm a diehard CFB fan in my 30s and never knew this. wow
Only reason why I clicked is because I'm also from NE Ohio, and wanted to see how local teams competed against the "big bad teams" from the south, since everyone always says that Big 10/Midwest teams can't compete with SEC teams in college FB. I knew there was a USA Today ranking of all the big national teams, but never knew of any national championship game or tournament, that's why I was shocked

Imagine if Ohio was allowed to train football year around like these other states that are known as powerhouses were allowed to.
EXACTLY.
I'm from Ohio and now live in Florida. Yes, I wish Ohio players could practice year around like they do down here. That actually gives those players in the states where they do allow year-round an advantage for those who would go on to play college football.
They aren’t allowed to? As in no summer camp or spring ball or what exactly? (From Ga)
@@snugzgiddens3238 Ohio high school football players can't seize the spring opportunities afforded to their counterparts in other states routinely leaves many head football coaches scratching their heads as to why. The simple answer is that the state athletics governing body - the Ohio High School Athletic Association - does not allow it.
@@snugzgiddens3238 in Ohio over the summer there is no football. I think you can hold weightlifting sessions and that's it. Schools aren't allowed to hold practice until August. A lot of schools in Ohio such as McKinley and Massillon will actually allow fans to come view the first official practice on the first day. Normally it's midnight and they make an event out of it. I’m from GA and Valdosta is part of football lore here, and my wife is from North Canton so I’ve heard about The history of Massilon from my father in law. Can’t believe people are poo pooing this game
The whole reason they set the game up was because they are each state's wins leader and the two were supposed to play back in the 80s and 90s but never did.... People are on here arguing about who Massillon should play... 😂😂😂 too funny
