Mei reminds me of myself...yes it's an utter nightmare not being able to travel because you're tied down with family responsibilities. Travel opens your heart and mind and if you feel trapped depression sinks in which is the root of all horror.
Mei has lived in Chinatown all her life and longs to escape. But because of her overbearing grandmother, she feels trapped. Meanwhile, she is haunted by a recurring nightmare in which she must hide in the corner from a stalking demonic Figure. Mei must decide whether she wants to break free or remain in the darkness forever.
It heartbreaking my heart sinks for her she better off no friends that her mate that don't notice her around and her grandmother trapping her to stay where she not happy 😢
I really didn't get it either, but I think it has to do with Mei wrestling with her own demons, ie: her lack of self esteem and courage to stand up for herself. She is trapped in Chinatown by an overbearing Grandmother who manipulates her into staying and taking care of her, as well as belief that her best friend is sneaking behind her back with the guy she knows Mei is interested in, but Mei's lack of self-worth won't allow her to confront her. Her fears are so bad that she suffers from night terrors, where the fear is so great it causes temporary paralysis. This is a known, terrifying condition. In the end, her fears got the best if her. Her demons won.... I hope that made some sense... I tried, cuz I really didn't get it myself!

Sometimes you have to make a responsibility to self,or this is what happens
No personality and unlikable. Good combination.
