Hello lok oum. I'm delighted to see your comments. Thank you for stopping by my channel and I hope you enjoyed the videos. If you get to see my videos from Cambodia last April-May, I'd like to hear your feedback 😊
As a Khmer person, I’ve never seen Chinese/Vietnamese people in the US or around the world went all out yearly to celebrate songkran like the Khmer does to the Chinese/Vietnamese new year. Khmer people need to wake up and realize their identity. I don’t mean to stirring the pot, but I’m saddened to see this kind of ignorance.
I totally get what you're saying. Some full blood Cambodians are jumping on the bandwagon celebrating everything Chinese and ignoring their very own beautiful Cambodian cultures. For those that are mixed, it's their rights to embrace both. A Cambodian/Chinese can celebrate both. You don't see Chinese and Vietnamese celebrating songkran because why would they, they don't have Cambodian bloodline. I however have seen people of all backgrounds celebrating Khmer new year in my local community. I appreciate your comments and I understand your concern. I agree with you.
This is America. The land of the melting pots. Khmer people are the best Asian I have seen in our country. We , as a Khmer person myself. I like to celebrate my culture and yet at other times, I do respect and celebrate other cultures as well because I have friends from different races or mixed up ones. 🙏🇰🇭🇺🇲
we will keep in touch perhaps we can meet at water festival in Auguest or at RED ROSE in september I want to talk and get your oppinion on doing a viedo for me in Cambodia if you would feel comfortable doing it
Hello, thank you for stopping by my channel. I think it's great to embrace everyone in the US since it's such a diverse country. I've seen others celebrate SE Asian new year all the time growing up in Lowell. Some SE Asians do have Chinese bloodline. Thank you for your comment 😊
I don't agree full blood khmer celebrating other tradition and loose their roots and identity. But I do respect as some khmer that are half blood to celebrate both. My wife is half Chinese blood so I respect that. She is more Khmer than Chinese.
