- We shopped at a market in Ankara Turkey. Is Turkey still cheap or expensive?? Was Turkey cheaper before? What do you think? Maybe this can give you an idea about the cost of living and supermarket or grocery prices in Turkey for 2024, so you can know what to expect coming to Turkey. We went shopping at our local market because we like cruising the "pazar" and we like to buy all our groceries on the same day, even though this market has very similar prices to Migros and CarrefourSA supermarket chains in Turkey. The produce is a lot fresher and we can find more variety at the pazar. Which is another reason why shopping there is more appealing for us since the market and shop prices are the same, maybe the pazar is still slightly cheaper but certain thing might be more expensive depending on the quality.
