This one is so beautiful! I just started doing this, and I've only got about 6 made. It is so much fun, but I always look back at this one for inspiration. Haven't done this design yet, but definitely want to try it once I get some black wax dye!
Amazing she makes it all look so easy .. truely amazing loved watching her and gone on to show it to all my family the agree she is excellent in her work x
@maryamubarak Christenannamarie is right. The full video for making one of these candles is 30mins long, the first 15 - 20 mins is all dip in hot wax, dip in water, dip in hot wax, dip in water.....repeat til ready to carve. You then have aprox. 10 mins to do all your carving befor the wax is to cool to work. For anyone who doesn't know, the room temp water dip is to set the wax so that the next layer will set on the previous layer. Good luck on your candle making! :)
oh my goodness this is so pretty! i would love to try this...i am also gonna call this my birthday candle cuz it was on 11 28 2009, my nineteenth birthday! lol thank you for an awesome video...you are very talented
I have been in that exact store it was awesome to see them make the candel in was at the renaissance fair in SanAntonio in was very worth it to bad i didnt get anything cuz that would have been a blast to light :]
i'm thinking about doing it as well and for me the most laborious thing is making the candle in different colours, so i would just use ONE and proceed as if i had more ( including the dipping etc) like the white ones you see in the back..
@metademetra If you're in the area of the Texas Renassance Festival, stop by their booth during fair. Beyond that, I'm just a huge fan of these guys, they're friendly and fun!!
Perhaps I'm wrong but I notice that the drippings you cut off aren't put to any use. I know some candle carvers use the drippings to make a mushroom candle before they start carving the rest of it. Beautiful piece of work, by the way! :)
I now have to remember come Oct. to see if they have chocolate scented mini-candles. Once you burn the candle down, they sell mini-candles that you can place in the core where the wax has melted....that could work right?
Depends on the size of the candle, I can't remember the sizes/prices at the moment. I only see these guys for 8 weekends a year. Give me til Oct. and I can find out for you.
@maryamubarak when these candles are made, they have literally just been melted wax. Search "how its made decorative candles" on youtube, that video shows the wax dipping.
@phoenixwithin I will have to give her some credit. I think I took this on a Sunday morning. Saturdays are usually hell-a busy. I don't think she was really awake yet...I'm fairly sure I wasn't. LOL
@teamohugomora You're most welcome. Sadly I can only take credit for recording the video, the real tallent belongs to the carvers of The Legendary Candle Co.
@s165455 7:08, she starts cutting off the bottom. I don't remember if she did make a mushroom out of that one or not. I didn't record it if she did....and I've sleeped once or twice since I recorded the video. ^ ^
Hey, I don't make the candles, just film them. They are the experts at making them, I know next to nothing about doing this except you've got a set amount of time to carve them. If I knew any advice other than "do the carving in X mins" I'd give it. I gave the best advice I could...go talk to the people who do this for a living.
i am teaching this work for 2000 $ via internet and i provide equipment including the price.....my facebook site facebook.com/profile.php?id=100011852658661
The cheaper way is to do what I have done. Watch loads of these youtube vids, and chat to candle carvers who are happy to share their knowledge. My entire buisness has cost me no more than $200aud. And yes, I'm happy to share my knowledge for free.
Hello, my name is Liana and I'm from Bulgaria. I really want to bother with carving candles, but I do not know, and nobody wants to tell me what it should contain mixture - wax and dyes or there is something else that helps to not fall apart sacred and what coverage should be put finally !? I would be very grateful if you help me, because it means a lot to me! Thank you !!!
Hi Liana, I might be able to help you out, but it won't be til October/November when I see them again and can talk to them. Hang in there, and I'll see what I can do!
It would be pretty awesome if it smelled like chocolate too :P Imagine guests coming inside your come and complementing you on a chocolate-y scented room coming from a chocolate-looking candle X3
Please somebody help me, I tried to make candles but by the time I carve the wax cracks and breaks, has a secret or is it something other than paraffin, is please help me - I am with the online translator because they do not speak English. Invested a lot and I can not lose thanks
@ Valek28 - Wow you are judgmental about her facial expressions. All these cuts they made have to be done within 10-15 minutes with each being equal length, width and depth. Needless to say she was probably concentrating pretty hard. Typically most people tend to frown when they are concentrating.
@phoenixwithin Why bring up something that's of such minor importance? You only make yourself sound grumpy. As for calling her names -- she's the crafter and do you have her skill?
This is a new way of carving the hearts. And it looks much easier!

The white ones will have white and clear to give detail. If you will be making one colour, why not two?

Anyone who dislikes this is just jelly of this lady's candle skills ;)
Because it's a live video made at festival, with about 30 people standing watching, asking questions, and buying other candles that are already made.
Perhaps I'm wrong but I notice that the drippings you cut off aren't put to any use. I know some candle carvers use the drippings to make a mushroom candle before they start carving the rest of it.

haii...awsom work..!! i would really love to learn this..!!!

@M4rple She did, I just didn't record it....or one of her assistants did. I don't remember for sure, I've sleeped once since I made this movie. ;)
Someone asks for advice you just give a random ad, congratulations.

Are you expected to smile the whole day at work? This is obviously an agest/sexist remark.
