You don't have to spend hundreds to get a folding bike that you can use for an international cycle tour. Second hand folding bikes can be excellent value if you are prepared to do any repairs yourself! Small repairs and replacing any worn out parts can be done with simple tools and these light weight bikes can be stored easily in a cupboard or under a bed.

I have a sailboat, it's a moving house, it moves for free. My food is free, my electricity is free, my engine is electric.
My total cost of living is $3500 a year, most of it is Starlink internet, the rest is maintenance. I can stay out on open ocean for 10 years if I need to, I have fognets and reverse osmosis water maker and 200 kg of rendered tallow for cooking.

My Brompton is collecting dust after a few tours; parts are hard to get and very expensive. I tour on a Bike Friday now, standard components and fit in a Samsonite suitcase.

I think some of us have the curse of having a good paying job and using up some of the precious time we have that could be traveling instead working.
I would be curious to know what you would say to people who work a 9-5 and can't tell themselves to break it.
I suppose I should view things from a different lense though. I enjoy my job because I know I can always fall back on just buying a tent and traveling like you do. It almost makes me look forward to getting laid off.
Plus I work remote so I can just stay in airbnbs indefinitely as I work if I wanted to stop saving. The only question is if I want to fill my luggage with camping equipment if that is the case. I still think foldable bike would be nice to avoid uber and other such city travel hassles.
Finding a life purpose is also key. It seems like you've pressed pretty hard on carving your own unique identity behind this folding bike back pack travel life. Still, you've given up lots of other dreams I'm sure. I'm not saying there is an answer though because everyone has countless dreams and only a few of them are achievable with our limited time.
Thanks for the videos! It's good to live vicariously thru you and be prepared if SHTF with life. I'm curious to know your thoughts on leaving a legacy in life and how to stay emotionally fit and healthy. Having a significant other must help, so I pray nothing bad ever happens with you two. Still I'm sure there are countless struggles you face but don't share because you would ruin the cleanliness and simplicity of your videos.
    Best wishes

Thanks for the comment! My take is :If you enjoy working a job go at it! Good at it? Even better. Get money? Use it to do what you like!
A job is not a good substitute for lack of purpose but if you get the money and use it wisely to further a nice and enjoyable experience that is super!
I enjoy riding traveling and learning. Also, sharing some tips, tricks and hacks to help others. I don’t want to share everything, life is personal but maybe some information I can show in the vids will help people save time, and lead to more enjoyment from the activities!
Appreciate the comment! Stay tuned for more great films, and look at the memberships if you want to see more!! 😉👍🚲🌲🏝

I wonder what is it like to tour in Germany. I have read that wild camping is illegal and campsites are rather expensive too.
