He proceeded to put the bus in park and stood up to face us and reminded everybody how slow we were going and how much damage would occur in an unsuspecting situation. He then drove (very slowly) up on to the curb which was equally frightening .. needless to say, he gained our respect. We never got out of line, and we understood the importance of safety while on that bus. He also passed out hug juice and small bags of chips every Friday, and we were allowed to pet his ferret on our way off the bus. ❤
I agree fuck those millennial spoiling ass parents that I bet never once had they actually had to pride the fuck and realize that being a sniveling pathetic individual is easier to them
These are children this is not in the manner to teach them. This could have caused serious harm to children as young as 4 on the bus. Not expendable at all. He didn't teach them anything. He got agitated and didn't conduct himself properly.
I think he was right. Only nine miles an hour. I think he was trying to save their lives. Showing them what they hadn't learned in terms of bus safety.
@@Uhh.thankyou his intent was to hurt the kids to teach them a lesson, he said so himself, being wrong he should have just kept his mouth shut but he decided to incriminate himself.
Our bus driver did this while we were kids. Most bus drivers around here do that. They only did it when kids acted like they couldn't hear them telling them to sit down. The difference is we are tough in the country, ain't no way I'm calling my parent because I wouldn't listen and I barely taped the seat in front of me. Sorry to say but that is privileged behavior.
This is exactly why there’s a shortage of bus drivers and educators. Parents like them and kids like that are the downfall of the education system. No order, no respect no discipline.
If that'll keep butts in seats, so be it. This was a problem when I was growing up, even. I hated having to sit and wait for everyone else to shut up and sit down.
Let’s be real. Her whole story was a lie and she’s just trying to get a paycheck for her son who had such a severe head and neck injury that he SPRINTED all the way home. 🤭 I’m sure that concussion of his she’s been ‘nursing for two weeks’ also turned her pupils into dollar signs.
I wish people could come together and gather support for this driver. If he's charged for doing this, then these parents will have to prepare a lot of defense for their kids in the future

These are your average, do the bare minimum parents who are either looking for a lawsuit payout, or attention/sympathy. My parents would've sided with the bus driver every time if I went crying to them about something like this
they totally ignored him. they get mad at the driver for trying to teach them how to ride safely on a bus, wait until there is an actual emergency stop and the kids go flying and get killed because they wouldnt sit right and nobody would train them right.... who are they going to blame then? not themselves.. The proper thing to do, the SAFE thing to do, is to pull over and tell the kids they aren't going home until the sit down. That's the way it's been done for 50 years. Why is it okay, now, to hit the breaks and hurt the kids? The bus driver has "a historical pattern of improper student management.". That, and him knowing it was wrong and lying about what happened, proves that he shouldn't be working with kids. He doesn't know how to handle them. 30 counts of child abuse sounds about right, especially since at least one kid was hurt and bleeding.
@@frey8725 he should pull over and "say" they arent going home until they sit down? First of all thats a lie, he cant keep them on the side of the road indefinitely. Secondly, you would cry about that too, you would call it terrorizing or being controlling, you would probably call him a psychopath or something, or say he was abusive and traumatized the kids emotionally, after all some of the kids were sitting properly. and ultimately they would call his bluff and the driver would have to continue driving them home. Its probably kidnapping or something you would say. You simply refuse to teach kids by consequence which is the real abuse. These kids will grow up to experience a lifetime of pain and unhappiness from not learning consequences. Kids learn by demonstration and this was a very gentle demonstration compared to what COULD happen if it was a real emergency where he had to actually slam on his brakes. It was just a brake check to teach, not to hurt or punnish the kids. But once again, you can only think emotionally and not rationally, and brakes are not spelled breaks fyi.
Im a bus aide and parents have no idea what we go through on a daily basis kids are out of control and the parents are stupid themselves train your kids to act like they have some sense it starts at home they don't listen and very disrespectful I don't blame the driver at all.
I'm a teacher and I can say kids today are nothing like we were as kids. Bus drivers write up so many kids on a daily basis and parents just don't care.
@@amandachase7691 Why do you think that is? Did the pandemic change it a lot or was this just as much a problem as before? Thanks for being a teacher. I know it takes a lot of time, energy, patience and even your own money!
I noticed when I first started teaching back in early 2000s kids were respectful and we didn't have any major behavioral issues. Over the years I noticed it has gotten so bad that we have teachers quit in the middle of the year. It was already getting bad before the pandemic but COVID didn't help. I have 2nd graders bringing in shanks made from broken scissors and kids vaping on the bus. We had a fight between two teen girls and they were separated by male teacher. The girl who started the fight had her parents come in and threaten to sue the district if he wasn't fired. Kids today have no consequences. It's always someone else's fault. I think a big part of it is poor parenting. It all starts at home. Kids are not being raised to respect adults and to behave in school and on the bus. When they misbehave parents blame the teachers. Sorry for venting but this mom is the norm these days. It makes me so mad.
I had a bus driver once it was a male driver the kids were so loud he would always say kids get quiet now or imma kick you off this bus I mean it kids I ain’t telling you no more kids need to learn how to respect people & be polite & do what they’re told
I applaude this guy. They seemed to of listened after the brake check. good job sir. My driver as a kid did way worse than this. we couldnt film it and even if we did my parents would of sided with the driver as well. Looking back I do too. We were terrible on that bus.
The parents should be thanking this bus driver, he was just teaching them a lesson. Parents need to teach their kids to listen and follow directions. If the bus would have been in an accident and the kids would have been hurt, the parents would be like why were you allowing them to sit like that on the bus. SMH this man didn’t need to be fired..this parents need a parenting class.

I'm 16, and I 100% agree with the bus driver. Those kids are so annoying and I bet he warned them dozens of times to sit down. And he didn't even hit the brakes that hard. See how sensitive these kids are? Acting as if the bus driver went 100 MPH and slammed into another car. And their parents aren't any less childish either----Allowing their kids to become such disobedient, insolent, annoying brats. I bet those kids have never been told "No" in their whole life. In my household, me and my brother are beaten and slapped and whipped by our father whenever we say "No", and are forced to study 5 hours a day of math. If we make mom mad----Beaten and grounded. Say no to any of them? Slapped, insulted, and grounded. @vapor-vr What You're describing isn't a spanking or discipline. Sounds like abuse to me. I'm in reference to an old-fashioned spanking. Then again, if you acted like any of these kids, you probably deserved it? If these kids had been taught how to listen, this incident wouldn't have happened.
Probably more upset that they still have to put up with their spoil brats who learned nothing because they got the driver fired instead of explaining that they need to listen to the driver when they are giving them instructions how to remain safe on the bus.
Remember this is the generation raised by participation trophies, 9 mph is not a hard brake 😂😂 this is a critical life lesson for both the kids and parents, y'all need to listen to the driver when he tells y'all to sit down when the bus is moving, the bus was coming to a stop sign and slowing down and all he did was put his brake on firmly, these parents need to discipline their kids and teach them driving etiquette I bet they also let them scream and fight in their car when they drive too
Nah they got their kids behind sound proof glass dividers with their entertainment systems so not to bother them while they are driving, or they have chauffeurs driving the kids around and the parent walks them to the bus stop to give the illusion they actually take care of the kid.
I'm sorry but who gave all the participation trophies to the participation trophy generation again? I'm sorry but the older generation complaining about the participation trophy generation needs to take responsibility for creating the participation trophy generation in the first place because the children who received the participation trophies didn't ask for them. They were children.
Participation trophies are such a strawman... Like, dude it doesn't really happen. It just doesn't. I don't know what to tell you. I think you have issues.
"Riding a school bus should be happy and enjoyable?" When I was a bus driver they told us safety is number one. He was trying to educate them. My bus driver hit the curb harder than that when I was a kid. I hit the window, and learned a lesson. Sounds like these kids learned they can do what they want on a bus.
Lol if you rode a bus you know the seat backs have metal bars behind the gross fake leather. The kids hurt were sitting in their seats. One of the kids had a concussion and smashed into the seat back. Shut the absolute fuck up you boomer. Just because you were abused and hurt as a kid doesn't mean kids should be.
As an old school bus driver I know this man's frustrations ! Even if he was a substitute! Parents just don't realize what happens ! Kids are in need of what happens when they don't follow rules! Parents need to be more involved ! And kids will make more out of it due to that attention they get !
I am probably the most sensitive kid in my school. I'm always in my seat but even if he did slam on the brakes no matter what I would be crying. If I ever get hurt badly or emotionally hurt I would not have dinner that night. (I also often get bullied so school is always bad)
The proper thing to do is pull over and stop the bus until the kids sit down and do not move until they all sit. Repeat if necessary! If it takes 2 hours to get home it is what it is.
Exactly. This way, no bruises, no phone calls, no firings, no angry yelling parents, no danger. The kids would moan and cry a little, sure, but they would not scream to their parents in terror after seeing a student bleeding. And there would be no risk to a student with a concussion, or goodness forbid if a kid was healing from brain surgery or had a fragile bone disorder. (I just find it mind boggling that this guy was driving students with special needs to and from school; he probably terrorized them, and for those students, this behavior would be completely unsafe.)
Wrong! They would then accuse the driver of kidnapping. No matter what you do these days, kids and parents like this will always find something to cry about.
They don't have seatbelts on buses unless they are special needs. Most buses don't have seatbelts. One of my sister-in-laws was riding a bus pregnant in her 20s, driver braked too fast and she lost the baby. Even the kids who were sitting perfectly were slamming into the seat in front of them and could have been injured.
All you horrible bitter old people in the comments are ridiculous. The kids were clearly not running around and even the ones quietly sitting in their seats not talking had their head bang into the seat in front of them. That boy had a concussion he was recovering from, hello?? Any one of those kids sitting in their seat could have been eating or drinking something causing them to choke. The kid closest to the stairs almost fell down them. These are worthwhile risks with children that DON'T belong to you? You are all crazy and abusive if you think this was a good choice on the bus drivers end. Just because your caretakers were abusive and careless 50 years ago doesn't mean "that's the way it oughta be" ugh smh, grow up. It's good that kids "these days" understand they have human rights. They aren't soft, they're CHILDREN who know better than to accept that. Thank God for CCTV
Overreacter bruh, the guy was driving so slow that i was looking out through the bus window to see how slow he was going and didint even notice him brake. Maybe they wouldnt have knocked their head on the seat if they had their seatbelts on.
The bus driver was absolutely right. These kids are disrespectful to any kind of authority. That tap on the brakes was hard at all and I highly doubt anyone of those kids were hurt. These parents are raising little victims. Nothing is ever their fault.
LMAO my bus driver did this to us when kids were jumping on top of chairs and some kid fell over it was hilarious, no one was acting like a victim of anything because we broke the rules. Also no one got hurt
You all had crazy bus drivers 🙃there are no seatbelts in buses, and the seat were hard as rocks back then. If mine did that, we would broke our teeth...or badly bite our tongues at least.
This sounds similar to what our bus driver would do when I was taking a bus, we thought it was fun. Kids would fall over on our bus get bruised not too often it was still fun.
Why does the school bus NOT HAVE SEAT BELTS? kids are kids, today they listen to you..tomorrow they dont, whether they dont stay in their seats or if they have an accident, seat belts should be MANDATORY, you use them in your car dont you???? why the double standard in road safety?
I actually agree to this. Handicap busses have seatbelts. Why doesn't school busses? By law while in a moving vehicle all passengers should be wearing a seatbelt or else risk getting pulled over and ticketed. I forgot to put mine on one time and got a $25 ticket as a passenger. Maybe the driver can start issuing out tickets to those who don't stay in their seats instead of just a simple write up? That will teach the parents to pay more attention to how their kids act and teach them some respect.
So you're telling me that slamming on the breaks for less than a second whilst doing 9mph is considered unacceptable, JUST to help the students understand the dangers of a school bus? This society is so fucked up, and this just goes to show it all.
Don’t agree with anyone in the comments, he shouldn’t have done that. I get that you’re trying to teach kids a lesson, but these kids are in elementary school. We’re talking, 11 years old tops. Trying to show them what could happen by actually hurting one of them is not okay. Of course you’d be pissed if you’re the parent. And people act like if they were driving behind a car that abruptly stopped they wouldn’t mind it. Hello? That’s a dangerous maneuver for the kids and for other drivers too. Teach them with your words. He clearly was angry and aggravated, and took it out on them
His first mistake was admitting he did it on purpose. "A damn car cut me off" sounds a whole lot better than "I slammed on the brakes to teach those little brats a lesson". Trust me, I'm speaking from experiance. And, if the parents are "enablers", you have two safer alternatives. The first one is to turn right around and drive back to the school, telling them the kids are uncontrollable and requesting a teacher or the principal ride along. The second one, and one of my favorites, was to pull over and park the bus, then inform the students that it was unsafe for me to drive unless they were in their seats. I always carried a paperback (as well as snacks and drinks) with me to reinforce that I was serious. "But Mr. Bus Driver, we're gonna be late!" shrug "That doesn't bother me, I'm paid by the hour. The longer we sit here, the more money I make". Plus, it's very hard for anyone - parents or school officials - to argue with "Yes, were late, because I was forced to pull over for the safety of the students." 😁
Parents need to make sure their kids are behaving even when they're not in their presence. Good lesson learned. He said multiple times that they need to sit down properly in their seats.
The bus driver was both right and wrong I get it if he tried to teach kids a lesson but this is not the way to go kids are still developing they are fragile they are not tough like adults this is why we call them children if I was a parent I would have sued the company for hurting my child
Bus driver Scott was my bus driver and he was cool as a fan man on the last day of school he pulled over and we had a huge paper ball fight on the bus he participated too even pulling out a water gun and squirting us...i was 12 then and 25 years later still remember that experience like it was yesterday
2:06 girl… your son would be more than red in the face and shaking if he was on the bus not seated and the driver had to brake really hard in an urgent situation. Those kids who were seated, guess what? They didn’t jolt like that. YOUR KIDS DON’T LISTEN. People don’t teach or drive the school bus to raise your kids that you’ve failed to. 4 TIMES? Why don’t your kids listen to authority. I don’t think this man is a bad guy because of this, these parents are pathetic. 4:46 but a miserable one for the driver right?
Wasn't the right way to go about it for the bus driver, mostly because if there was a freak result of this he could end up being charged. And it scares the kids that are behaving. But in general parents need to step up and start dealing with these issues with their kids. We have a real problem in public schools these days.
For anyone wondering why in some places school buses don’t require seatbelts, here are a couple of reasons: because the school bus alone weighs 10,000 pounds it would be hard to enforce all students to wear seatbelts at all times the back of the seats have cushions school buses are more than 30 times safer than cars without seatbelts, evacuation is a lot easier and faster
when my mom used to allow me to go to school and ride the bus there were like seatbelts in the seats so if you felt unsafe you could ask the driver then they would pull down the seat to give you a seatbelt
Guys maybe you actually shouldn’t do this if you drive a school bus because my cousin on her school bus was sitting back and the bus driver hit the brakes and she got a concussion
Ok they weren’t bouncing all over the place but I still think the situation was blown way out of proportion. I don’t see how anyone could have been injured in that situation. We aren’t doing these children any good.
Such difficult unfortunate encounter with bad children not listening when told nicely. Its truly not easy driving disrespectful unruly children while maintaining safety for all on busy streets. All the while around not much cooperative behaving children, truly becomes more difficult with parents expecting their children safe while knowing their children were disruptive or being wild with so many families' children, desiring babysitting with no rightful authority to discipline when instructing them to remain seated for safety concerns. It must be much burden for bus drivers sadly

personally, i’d be furious if my *elementary* school aged child’s bus driver decided to hit the brakes like he did. And in the case of that woman’s son who *already* had a concussion that was a horrid thing for him to do.
As a school bus driver I am disgusted. I have kids who behave alot worst. Never once have I everytheven thought about hitting the breaks to teach kids a lesson. I just yell from my seat. "Sit down" "Why are you up"
You know I would say the kids had no clue what they were doing but I forgot that literal kindergardeners have access to the internet so of course they knew what they were doing.
Our bus driver(s) would stomp on the brakes to get the attention of an unruly bus in the 1980's. Many students would just say "Whoa!" or yelp and then the whole bus would get quiet for about 30 seconds. There were no cameras or cellphones then and nobody would really make anything of it. If unruliness became too much of an issue, the driver would complain to the principal and then he would ride the bus for a few days and write up students as needed. If a student yelled at a bus driver or started a fight with another student they would lose their riding privilege for months or even the rest of the year (and the parents would of course not like this) so it kept everyone well behaved. Even refusing to sit down or being overly loud and refusing to quiet down could cause loss of riding privileges for a few days.
This is being blown out of proportion. Good for the bus driver!! Imagine if the kids were running around and something really did happen. Then they would have blamed the bus driver for not making sure the kids were in their seats. What if he had to stop short because an animal ran across the road or something was in the road. Thats was happens when kids don't listen. It's teaching them consequences. I did the same thing to my kids when they didn't want to wear their seatbelts. Now that's the first thing they do when they get in the car.
While I agree that the kids were bratty, I don’t think it was appropriate for the bus driver to do that. Risking injury to a person to teach a lesson makes no sense. They’re elementary school kids.
Exactly! I would have told my kid, "Well, I hope you learned your lesson about bus safety and sit how you are supposed to sit, going forward," even if the kid showed up with scratches, headache, or whatever minor injury from not sitting right.
That happened with me and my sisters bus when we were little we had a sub bus driver and we weren’t even moving we where just talking to loud apparently and he slammed on the brakes and my sister hit her head hard on the window and i had gotten thrown in to the little crake between seats and was stuck for a second we never got that sub again in my opinion if your not ready to deal with a couple kids talking then don’t drive a school bus
I don't think the bus driver was in the wrong but I don't think he was in the right. These children weren't following the rules, were out of their seats, and could've potentially been injured if the bus driver had gotten into a wreck or for whatever reason had to act quickly and slam on the breaks so I do think he taught them a valuable lesson fro why you should always stay seated when the vehicle is in motion. However, I don't think he should have slammed on the breaks, I know I know, it didn't cause them any sort of injury but they are kindergartners after all so probably 5-7 and as much as I hate to say it it could've caused them an injury or some sort of pain.
School districts need to train all bus drivers and teach them classroom management skills. Clearly the one priority a bus driver has is to keep passengers safe. Brake checking elementary school kids is not the way!
Finally someone logical who is not trying to justify hurting elementary school children. I totally agree with the girl who immediately called an trustworthy adult to notify them of the situation at 0:42 😢

Give this man a medal
Parents need to make sure their kids are behaving even when they're not in their presence. Good lesson learned. He said multiple times that they need to sit down properly in their seats.

But that way could have injured them. Idiot. You can teach your kids to be good without injuring them. You talk to the parents, not hurt the kids
Why do these news stations always have terribly balanced audio?
Wasn't the right way to go about it for the bus driver, mostly because if there was a freak result of this he could end up being charged. And it scares the kids that are behaving. But in general parents need to step up and start dealing with these issues with their kids. We have a real problem in public schools these days.
Teach your children how to behave in public.
For anyone wondering why in some places school buses don’t require seatbelts, here are a couple of reasons:
because the school bus alone weighs 10,000 pounds
it would be hard to enforce all students to wear seatbelts at all times
the back of the seats have cushions
school buses are more than 30 times safer than cars
without seatbelts, evacuation is a lot easier and faster
when my mom used to allow me to go to school and ride the bus there were like seatbelts in the seats so if you felt unsafe you could ask the driver then they would pull down the seat to give you a seatbelt
@JenayaKing very cool to know. your mom really cares about you
It needs seatbelts to protect kids when the bus driver is brake checking though 🙃
So then the parents have a choice. Teach your kids to follow the rules. Or take your own kids to and from school

And what of the kids who were in their seats? Unacceptable abandonment of duty of care.
He asked them to sit down 4 times. Why dont you ask the kids why they didn’t do that?
When you don’t teach your kids how to behave, the results come back negative. So teach them well and they won’t come hurt.
What do they expect. He kept telling them. I wouldn't be mad if it were my child. Those kids are hard headed and bad.
Wow I cant believe this even made the news. Embarassing
Seriously
Facts
I don't think the bus driver was in the wrong but I don't think he was in the right. These children weren't following the rules, were out of their seats, and could've potentially been injured if the bus driver had gotten into a wreck or for whatever reason had to act quickly and slam on the breaks so I do think he taught them a valuable lesson fro why you should always stay seated when the vehicle is in motion. However, I don't think he should have slammed on the breaks, I know I know, it didn't cause them any sort of injury but they are kindergartners after all so probably 5-7 and as much as I hate to say it it could've caused them an injury or some sort of pain.
seatbelts then! that would keep them in their seats
I'm not saying he is in the right, but these kids are out of line. They are so entitled and coddled.
School districts need to train all bus drivers and teach them classroom management skills. Clearly the one priority a bus driver has is to keep passengers safe. Brake checking elementary school kids is not the way!
Estes ônibus não tem sinto de segurança?
Finally someone logical who is not trying to justify hurting elementary school children. I totally agree with the girl who immediately called an trustworthy adult to notify them of the situation at 0:42 😢
Oh yes it is kids ate so disrespectful nowadays
@@Satsuma1 LOL.. so those 5 year olds are SO disrespectful, that they deserve to get whip lash and a concussion? You must be on crack.. hope you don't work with children!
@@Satsuma1oh you are disrespectful you should be in jail for disloyalty and contempt to the country. Get deported for being a criminal to the state. You’re a full on enemy to the country.
Well if these kids were sitting right they wouldn’t have hit the window.
Good Job Bus Driver!!👍 Let Parents Complain, At least the Kid Would Come Home SAFE!!
Oh no. Kids got taught a lesson they obviously need to hear. How horrible.
And stop that is the fact that it is dangerous to slam on brakes because of songs behind them someone could’ve hit them also, it’s illegal to slam on the brakes with no warning when there’s like 30 kids on the bus, and as it was, said, some of the kids had like bleeding cheeks
@@cherryfam7239 They were given a warning, as it was quoted the driver said, "You guys want to see how dangerous that is?" It's not the drivers fault some of the children in there are disobeying little brats.
Eh...Ive seen worse bus drivers. Growing up, a bus driver in my hometown managed to get a bus hit by a train while full of students....Twice.
Yes.....2 seperate incidents, children on board both times, same bus driver. Twilight Zone shit.
I back the driver 100%. I grew up in a time where anyone entrusted with my care could discipline me, and I listened. This is a bad breed of future citizens we're raising
I'm scared of the future..A future of entitled soft non resilient overly sensitive woke hypocrite karens! 😢
I believe the words you are looking for are future victims or furure criminals depending if they are armed are the time when each situation happens.
This is the kind of driver that deserves a go fund me.
Guys its not that bad this happens in my bus every single day

If you would raise your kids to act better this wouldn't have happened. All school is now is free daycare. Parents have let their kids go un punished and un disciplined for so long they can't even control them, so for eight hours a day, they get peace by sending Their disrespectful children to someone else. The interesting part is that instead of blaming their themselves for Failing their children It's just easier to point fingers to someone else.
Thats crazy the worst "Injury" was a bleeding cheek bruh he shouldnt have got fired
Alternate Title: School Bus Driver Slightly presses the brakes down to teach kids a lesson, entitled kids act out.
It's always the driver's fault, never the fault of the parents who children are disrespectful! So the drive IS DRIVING THE BUS BEING DISTRACTED, have to look at traffic, look through the rear view mirror, correct your children, listen to the RADIO, but yet, it's his fault for showing WHAT CAN HAPPEN IF THEY HAVE AN ACCIDENT ? BUT YOU AS PARENTS HAVE SLAMED ON BRAKES WITH YOUR CHILDREN IN THE CAR for the same reason they are not listening 🤔
I'M 57 AND FROM THEN TO NOW THE WAY KIDS ARE ALLOWED TO MISBEHAVE AND THE PARENTS DON'T DISCIPLINE THEIR CHILDREN AND FORBID ANYONE ELSE TO😮😢IT'S SO SAID THE QUALITIES THAT THEY'RE PUTTING INTO THEM 😢😢
Literally 1 kid was standing in the video, and he said he had 60 kids bouncing around.
These parents are raisings wimps. We used to climb all over the car with no seat belts and got thrown all over the place. I blame the parents - way to go bus driver.
Omfg parents want their kids to be such whimps these days.
Unbelievable kids should listen because real “ hit the brakes and brace “ do happen .
And what was wrong with this?
