    We don't like immigration agents - the ones' that aren't authorized by ICCRC and qualified to help you with your application in exchange for money - first of all, it's not legal to do that, and second of all, it's so easy that you don't really need paid help! We are a young couple who started their Canadian Immigration journey in 2018 and moved to Canada 3 days before the pandemic hit in March 2020. Over the course of our application, we have seen so many people getting screwed over by greedy / fraudulent and unauthorized immigration consultants who promise you the world in exchange for thousands of dollars and deliver a whole lot of NOTHING; to an extent that in many cases, the applications get rejected, due to their negligence.
    Therefore, we are taking matters in our own hands. After months of research and our own experience of applying for a Canadian PR, we came up with an e-book series & this UA-cam channel which would include - errors to avoid, perfect sample documents (my own) and alternate ways of immigrating to Canada - 100 pages of absolute goldmine between these 3 e-books - no filters, no premium versions to these ebooks... everything is out there FOR FREE, for you to read and execute the process yourself! All we are doing in these ebooks is sharing our experience of applying for PR ourselves / structuring and pointing you in the right direction via various different resources that are available on IRCC's official website. The UA-cam channel will compliment the e-book and add some personality and entertainment to the entire process :-)
    Volume 1: Step by step express entry process from know nothing about immigration all the way to getting an invitation to apply (ECA, IELTS etc). Download here - www.potatotalkies.com/
    Volume 2: Post ITA express entry process - documentation, samples, POF, Proof of work, medical, biometrics all the way to getting a stamped passport ;-) Download here - www.potatotalkies.com/
    Volume 3: Alternate ways of moving to canada | Provincial Nominee program - OINP, AINP, MPNP, NSNP, SINP, RNIP and more. Download here - www.potatotalkies.com/

    Some quick tips on saving on car insurance:
    1) Add tenant/renter insurance to your policy - the total of both will give you multi line discount and will also be slightly less in total than what you're paying right now for just insuring the car alone.
    2) Also ask your insurance company if they have a "my drive" discount where they either send you a device that connects to your cars OBD port or its an app you install on your phone - and it will monitor your driving habits - this will also provide you an additional discount. Note they do NOT monitor or track where you're driving, only your driving habits and if you're being safe.
    3) Take a ministry approved driving course, many providers recognize that and give an additional discount. Ask your current provider if they recognize it.
    4) As mentioned in a previous video on this channel, having winter tires will give you an additional discount.
    5) When given the option, always park in an enclosed underground parking or in your garage overnight - this will reduce your premium further as parking outdoors or on a driveway overnight is considered more risky.
    You can do these either mid-contract or after your current contract is over and you're shopping around with other providers.

      That is great piece of information @M J. As a new comer, which Insurance companies offer best rates?

    • @Mo.Jo.
      @Mo.Jo. 3 роки тому +3

      @@anishtrip Insurance is based on many factors like age, location, type of car, marital status/gender (believe it or not), if you have kids or not and your credit score. And every insurance company has its own metrics to rate you based on the above. So like they said in this video, shop around as much as possible with individual companies and also on websites like rates.ca (previously called kanetix).

    • @ashisht9784

      Quick question on point 3.
      How much is the saving on insurance vs the cost you put for a MTO approved training?

    • @Mo.Jo.
      @Mo.Jo. 3 роки тому +2

      @@ashisht9784 The estimate is between 5%-20% savings on premiums and cost of training varies between companies - you'll have to do some research and crunch your numbers. Before you take the MTO approved training classes, speak to your insurance provider and see if they actually recognize it and how much discount they will provide. Most insurance companies do, but few don't. You may feel compelled to move to a provider that gives you the additional discount once your contract is over with the current one and you're shopping around. The savings are relative, so the higher your premiums - the more incentive you have to take the classes. Taking the classes will ensure you're always getting this discount no matter how much experience you have and how many years have passed - and the investment is one time.

    Another nice video guys! I differ a bit with the car a Insurance deductible as last year I had 1000 deductible and to my luck within the space or 6 months my car had two not at fault claims. First a flying object came and crashed my windshield so that I had to pay $1000 from my end. Second my car was Vandalised in Brampton Walmart Plaza there too I had to pay $10000 deductible. It was my bad luck but then I realised that it’s better to get the $500 deductible for collision and comprehensive and though I pay $7-10 a month more but I have a peace of mind. I now also work in Car insurance company and have much better understanding on how insurance works. I always advice my clients with my real life scenario and give them both the options for them to decide.

    While you are right about fido plans being cheaper than rogers. However, even after rogers being the parent company of fido, the network coverage of fido is not that good compared to rogers. My friend lives in Lindsay and complains about call drops a lot, his room mate has rogers which works seamlessly. I guess its worth the premium one pays for. But from a student's perspective fido is an economical option.

    Great video guys... enjoyed it. And since we are talking about savings, came across couple of apps that help you save on grocery and gas.
    1)For grocery, one can download an app called Flip, it gives you grocery deals around you and one set up notifications as well. Here you can create your own shopping list and see where the prices are cheaper for those items.
    2) Similarly when filling gas, use an app called GasBuddy. It tells you the cheapest gas prices in and around your area.
    Hope this is helpful..

      @Potatotalkies  3 роки тому

      You don't have to switch.. we now have 2 accounts and 2 credit cards - scotia and bmo... only difference is that I will be using my bmo credit card more as I switched my salary from scotia to bmo now.

    Hi couple! Thanks for all the info. Really helpful. My wife and I are on cross roads as to whether we need to apply together (460 points) or myself applying alone (469). February 2020 I'll lose 5 points for my age. Hence these scores will further drop down. Any suggestions?

      460 is difficult.. 469, much better chance... you can also try to improve ielts to CLB 10
