There are only 11 Channels in UA-cam history that have reached number 1 in Most Subscribed UA-cam Channel List: Smosh, Judson Laipply, Brookers, geriatric1927, lonelygirl15, nigahiga, Fred, Ray William Johnson, PewDiePie UA-cam (Channel, formerly UA-cam Spotlight) and T-Series.
The video covers 15 years of UA-cam, from the rise of the first UA-cam Stars to the recent "PewDiePie vs T-Series" event.

Pewdiepie literally recovered from T-series 2 times, that's how much his fans were trying to make him the most subscribed.
If they were his fans, they were already subscribed. The 40 million-ish people who did subscribe to him, only did it for the memes. Nothing to do with them actually liking his content. If it werent for that hype, based on projections, he would only have about 70 million subscribers today and not the 100 mill he has.

I think it's incredible what Ryan Higa (nigahiga) has done. He started about a year after UA-cam launched and has remained as one of the top channels for a decade and a half. That level of consistency is ridiculously hard to come by.
