Good stuff, was in a huracane a few days ago, had plenty of food and had ice and cooler knew electricity would go out. Had power bricks but wasn't counting on cel signal to be out. Stayed home, worst thing is to go out. Good luck all

Thank you sir. You probably don't remember me but I was the crazed man trying to reach his sister in LC. For all others watching this take this man's words to heart. He knows what he is talking about and worked the aftermath of Laura so he saw the struggles of many who never prepared for the storms. You won't find a better authority on hurricane preparedness.

@@BroussardHomestead I am hoping to get down to LC before the end of summer. I will be looking you up to thank you in person. You have no idea how much your assistance sending Remy to my sister was. I can never forget that nor promote the wonderful work you do here teaching people to be self sufficient in times of distress. You are more awesome than you know.

I regularly heat up food in my solar oven. Canned chili, beans, etc can easily be heated up in the can. Just be sure to open the can before placing it in the solar oven. There are many DIY solar ovens and cookers on the internet that can be made cheaply and easily.

Excellent video! I would add a way to cook without electricity. I have a rocket stove that works very well for this. God bless!

Thanks! I appreciate the idea. A camp stove is going to be included in another video. I’ve had my eye on a rocket stove for quite some time, just haven’t had the funds for it.

@@BroussardHomestead I bought my rocket stove a few years ago. But you can also make your own, too. I've seen them made out of bricks as well as out of various size cans. There's also a video I watched where the guy made a rocket stove out of a stock pot and a T-shaped duct connector pipe.

I’ve seen some of those too. Even made one out of cinder blocks once.

If a hurricane is coming, I'm leaving. After what we went through from Laura, I'm never staying again.
