I feel if an apocalypse started right now, I'd just remember EJ Snyder was my teacher and showed me how to light a fire with petroleum Jelly or a battery, and boil water in a plastic bottle. If I don't survive it's because I wasn't paying attention! :)

Solar power & generator, a nice garden with fruit trees/plants, all these would be ideal. Gas & diesel will run out quickly and if the sun doesn't come out, well it's game over for all of us. LOL. Awesome video brother!!

Old fashioned oil lamps are inexpensive, lamp oil is readily available, and the lamps thenselves can be decorative when not in use. The lamp oil will last almost indefinitely and they worked for our great grandparents and will work for us in an emergency.
Do some youtube research before buying... there are several types of oil lamps, from Aladdin lamps to hurricane type lamps, some very cheap and some a bit expensive.
Kerosene will work in oil lamps with a small odor, and this same kerosene will operate a couple of different room heaters, such as the Kerosun models...again, do some research before buying.
