Debbie still holds the record of being the youngest performer, at age 17, to write, produce and perform a #1 song (Foolish Beat) on the Billboard charts!
Its the same with todays industries, people who has other people making music for them ends up getting the spotlight while those who writes and produces their own music ends up having a couple of hits and thats it, no award or acknowledge. Debbie was popular in the 80s but she were far behind of artists like Madonna who didnt write her music and had the industry doing it. I dont have any grudge towards Madonna or any other artists who dont make their music but it annoys me when they gets credit for something they didnt wrote. As someone who's into Blues rock, Metal, hard rock and jazz i admire what shes doing.
This brotha is SO CUTE hahaha. But to think Debbie Gibson was 14 when she initially wrote this song & produced it when she was 16 to STILL hold the world record next to Prince in being the youngest to write, sing, & produce their own material (that i know of) is amazing. A simple tune, but catchy, energetic, & lovely to the ears in vocals. Deborah foreva! (:-P
If you watch " How I Met Your Mother " you probably know that Robin Sparkles was based on all three. Debbie Gibson and Tiffany the younger Robin and " Sandcastles in the Sand " was based on a Belinda Carlisle video.
@@davidtesso4844 Which ones? There were so many great artists back then. Debbie's first #1, "Foolish Beat", was sandwiched between Rick Astley's "Together Forever" and Michael Jackson's "Dirty Diana".
Debbie was a child musical prodigy...playing piano and writing music at 5 years old. She wrote this one at 13.years old...after writing about 250 more songs!
I grew up in Alaska and we only had 3 tv channels. We didn’t get music videos unless you had satellite cable or caught Friday night videos to see the latest. I’ve never seen this video but loved her songs!
Loved Debbie Gibson when I was in middle school. I remember my Grandma and Granddaddy buying me a bottle of her perfume Electric Youth and a pink stone wash denim jacket.
Please do a reaction to Everything I Do (I Do It For You) by Bryan Adams. That was the song that my husband and i danced to on our wedding day, and for our first date we saw Robin Hood with Kevin Costner.
That saxophone solo reminded me of another great bubblegum pop hit from around the same time: I Love Your Smile by Shanice. I'd definitely love to see that reaction.😁
I think all the hand gestures (this was before all the boy bands started doing them) comes from her theater background - being visually expressive so people in the back row can see
I had a massive pressure of Debbie Gibson back in the '80s and I was even part of her fan club which is kind of sad now that I look back at it. But you can't blame her for the dance moves her sister choreograph the dances
He really needs to check out I Think We're Alone Now. Original first, then the modern remake Tiffany did. Also, Go-Gos are a great idea. Our Lips Are Sealed is good, and Vacation is my favorite of theirs. Hopefully, that would send him down a Belinda Carlisle road, who had an incredible voice. Also, by her own admission, she had a coke problem so bad she's amazed her nose didn't fall off.
Another old favourite - really brings back memories. She was only 17 when this was released, but she was writing and producing her own music, not just being a pretty face for a production company.
Please react to: 1. Abby Anderson - Make him wait 2. Billy Gilman - Oklahoma 3. Brett young - Mercy 4. Dan & Shay - Obsessed 5. Florida Georgia Line - Talk you out of it 6. Gone West - What Could've been 7. Jason Aldean - You make it easy 8. Kacey Musgraves - Happy & Sad 9. Kacey Musgraves - Oh what a world 10. Kacey Musgraves - Rainbow 11. Keith Urban - Blue ain't your color 12. Luke Bryan - Knockin boots 13. Luke Bryan - You look like rain 14. Luke Combs - Beautiful Crazy 15. Old Dominion - One man band 16. Sam Hunt - Break up in a small town 17. Same Hunt - Take your time 18. Sugarland - Stay 19. Thomas Rhett - Look what God gave her 20. Thomas Rhett - Star of the show 21. Train - Drops of Jupiter 22. Tori kelly - Change your mind 23. Adele - Chasing Pavement
Oh lord and the FASHIONS of the 1980s. Jeez. The hair. The tulle skirt and leggings. The oversize belt at her waist. The gloves. The big chunky earrings. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH And yes she was cute as a button
She was as big as Taylor Swift in the 80's she was the ultimate teenager...only difference is she grew up where as Taylor Swift is still going thru high school
THIS WAS MY TEEN MUSIC I GROW UP TO IN THE 80 KIDS WHEN KIDS WHERE INNOCENT . ...MY MOM DIDT LET ME WATCH MTV IN THE 80 SHE DIDT LIKE SEE MADOONA ROLLING A ROUND HALF NAKED ON STAGE SO I DIDT GETTO WATCH HER MUCH WHEN I WAS A TEEN
bro we are bad. yes she is gorgeous and she was from our time but i think she is like 16 years old here. I'm 54 so she was hot back then so I can say that, but you are atleast 20 years younger. lol.
Debbie Gibson was around 17 when this song came out. She was (and still is) a damned good singer. Unfortunately, fans got so obsessive that it eventually drove her out of the music industry. She does theater stuff now, mostly. She did go on tour with Tiffany a few years back, though. Also, We Could Be Together is another good one from her. This song doesn't really show off what she can do vocally, sadly. The song I mentioned previously and Electric Youth are two of her best. Her vocals got a lot better.
Cannot cover 80’s great dance music and Not react to INXS - What You Need and Need You Tonight! Debbie was popular with the younger (under teens) age group.
Debbie still holds the record of being the youngest performer, at age 17, to write, produce and perform a #1 song (Foolish Beat) on the Billboard charts!
30+ years later and I still know every word.
Awesome song! I was in high school. She wrote and produced her music, unlike others. She was the real deal! The 80s had the best dance moves!
Music for sure but not too sure about the moves! lol

Since your on a roll u need to do Tiffany " i think we're alone now"💗 your videos 🤩
This takes me back to the late '80s, remembering when this came out and this lady was popular on the radio
She wrote this song when she was 13. This was her first single. The song took 65 weeks to climb to #4 on dance billboard charts.
This brotha is SO CUTE hahaha. But to think Debbie Gibson was 14 when she initially wrote this song & produced it when she was 16 to STILL hold the world record next to Prince in being the youngest to write, sing, & produce their own material (that i know of) is amazing. I remember the battle between debbie Gibson. Belinda Carlisle and tiffany. Lol great days
David Tesso yes, I just commented this on the “lost in your eyes” video-
If you watch " How I Met Your Mother " you probably know that Robin Sparkles was based on all three. Debbie Gibson and Tiffany the younger Robin and " Sandcastles in the Sand " was based on a Belinda Carlisle video.
Belinda wasn't a teenager at that time though.
@@jp3813 no but their songs competed
@@davidtesso4844 Which ones? There were so many great artists back then. Debbie's first #1, "Foolish Beat", was sandwiched between Rick Astley's "Together Forever" and Michael Jackson's "Dirty Diana".
Singer-songwriter Debbie Gibson, my first celebrity crush ... She was 14 when she wrote this song, 16 when it was released. Good times!
Debbie was a child musical prodigy...playing piano and writing music at 5 years old. She wrote this one at 13.years old...after writing about 250 more songs!
I feel really old...... Not only is today my bday but this came out when I was in 4th or 5th grade! And it was and still one of my faves!
Stefany Cazel Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday and your never old :) Love the 80's too.
Thanks y'all
Uggh! I'm getting old and sure do miss the 80's!
Debbie Gibson Anything is possible
I still have a VHS tape of all of her videos/interviews that I recorded from MTV!!! What a crush I had......
I love her voice. Her songs are catchy and fun. Sometimes we need fun. I like shake your love as well
Debbie Gibson was in the original Ghostbusters. She was the little girl in the restaurant when Rick Moranis got possessed.
Gotta remember this WAS back in the 80’s.... LOL.
She was in a hallmark channel movie a couple of years ago.
She was also in a Syfy channel movie, too. Think Tiffany was actually in it with her.
Debbie was my girl!! This was her first hit song!
I grew up in Alaska and we only had 3 tv channels. We didn’t get music videos unless you had satellite cable or caught Friday night videos to see the latest. I’ve never seen this video but loved her songs!
Ahhh debbie!!!!! I went to 2 of her concerts. With the black hat and all lol
Billy and his "Jazz Hands" 👋👋 LOL 🤣🤣
Loved Debbie Gibson when I was in middle school. I remember my Grandma and Granddaddy buying me a bottle of her perfume Electric Youth and a pink stone wash denim jacket.
Omg. I sang in my mirror to into my hairbrush mike as a teen. Love it. Blast from my past.
Really fun Billy. Great stuff.
Back in that era, Debbie and Tiffany supposedly had a feud, but they were actually friends. 2 of my favorites during my childhood.
Sax! The most underrated instrument of all time. More 80s hits have a saxophone than any other decade.
Please do a reaction to Everything I Do (I Do It For You) by Bryan Adams. That was the song that my husband and i danced to on our wedding day, and for our first date we saw Robin Hood with Kevin Costner.
Unfortunately, Bryan Adams is pretty absurd with protecting his music. He had his entry taken off of a music database under threat of legal action.
If he does Bryan Adams Everything, I hope he does his live version from Wimbley. He was stunning that day.
That saxophone solo reminded me of another great bubblegum pop hit from around the same time: I Love Your Smile by Shanice. I'd definitely love to see that reaction.😁
Since we’re on that era, I was reminded of another... “Walk the Dinosaur” by Was (Not Was). Hilarious!
YES he has to do *Walk The Dinosaur*!!! We have to get him doing the dance!!
Open the door get on the floor
Everybody walk the dinosaur
We just went wayyyyyyyyy back to my childhood.......Lol This was my jam back in the day!
I just love your intro!
YO WHATS CRACKIN WHAT’S BRACKIN IT’S YA BOIIIII, BILLY YOU’RE SO CRAZY AND WE BACK AND WE BACK AND WE BACK AND WE BACK!!!
Nostalgia, big time.
I think all the hand gestures (this was before all the boy bands started doing them) comes from her theater background - being visually expressive so people in the back row can see
Omg dude, you have me dying ovah heah!!!! The 80's I miss, like a blast from my childhood!!! Thank you for this!
She is The teen pop 80s.
Wow! Throwback!!
She was in her teens when she did this as a matter of fact I think she was in her teens or early 20's in all three songs I have seen you do
I had a massive pressure of Debbie Gibson back in the '80s and I was even part of her fan club which is kind of sad now that I look back at it. But you can't blame her for the dance moves her sister choreograph the dances
This just made my day!! Debbie Gibson was my idol when I was a little girl! And my fave song
Pay attention to the beat driving this song. It's the best part of it
OMG! I loved that album!
You are too funny with these reactions 😂😂🤭
Love this 😍
You should review Debbie Gibson ‘Electric Youth’. It’s very upbeat!
Please react to Toy Soldiers by Martika. Another great song from the 80s.
Also Jane Child’s I Don’t Want to Fall in Love is a great 80s hit!
We gotta get him on some Tiffany and the Go Go’s next- 😉
He really needs to check out I Think We're Alone Now. Original first, then the modern remake Tiffany did.
Also, Go-Gos are a great idea. Our Lips Are Sealed is good, and Vacation is my favorite of theirs. Hopefully, that would send him down a Belinda Carlisle road, who had an incredible voice. Also, by her own admission, she had a coke problem so bad she's amazed her nose didn't fall off.
Oh my gosh you are so funny! Live the dance Billy. "Its raining out. Its clear" I needed that.
You got a dope channel. I'm a fan from Miami, FL
Since you seemed to enjoy the saxophone solo so much there's an even better one in her song "No More Rhyme".
How about Lisa Lisa and the Cult Jam “Head to Toe” and The Jets “Crush on You”? 😊
Damn I remember when you could actually enjoy music. Usually had such amazing deep feeling to in. Doesn't help I'm a 70s baby.
Have you seen the new video Tiffedid a little bit ago redoing her I Think We're Alone Now? It's amazing, just like her old one
Another old favourite - really brings back memories. She was only 17 when this was released, but she was writing and producing her own music, not just being a pretty face for a production company.
Watch the nkotb boyz in the band. You'll see what she looks like now - along with some other 80s favorites

Do Lisa Lisa and The Cult Jam- Wonder If I Take You Home or All Cried Out🎶❤💯
She writes her own songs...
From my understanding they tried to make her look older then her 16/17 years. The record company thought she would do better looking more mature.
Careful buddy.
She was only 16 here. lol
Go check out her newest video Girls night out just released 2020
She was only 16 when she came out with this
Could have sworn she was 17. Think she turned 19 before the release of her Electric Youth album, though.
Serious Crush on her way back when
overall music was fun
You gotta do Must be Doin something Right..billy currington...
bro we are bad. yes she is gorgeous and she was from our time but i think she is like 16 years old here. I'm 54 so she was hot back then so I can say that, but you are atleast 20 years younger. lol.

Could you react to To A Sleeping Beauty by Jimmy Dean and Vietnam Deck of Cards by Red Sovine please and thank you
Between Debbie Gibson & Tiffany I'd rather Tiffany.
I like Redheads.
Tiffany's still looking good today. She remade I Think We're Alone Now in a more rock-type style.
I'm also extremely drawn toward redheads, but this is one of the few times I'd make the other pick. Team Debbie all the way.
