Best Mega Man soundtrack on NES. Mega Man 2 is a absolute classic, yes, but this one... Maybe it's only me, but Capcom made an extra effort here, with more elaborated, longer tunes. Makes me think that the composer had fun doing the work. These songs never left my head even after twenty-four years after hearing them for the first time.

Inafune himself said there was so much more to do and to fix that if given the time the game wouldve been even better but we got a 75% finished game instead that still kicked ass.... I could only imagine if he and his team were given the time.

I was 6 years old when Mega Man 3 was released; I came home from a friend's place one day to the sound of my brother, hollering at me to come downstairs to check out our new game. He handed me the controller and told me I could pick any level I wanted (this was the first time I ever played a Mega Man title) so the song at the 04:50 mark holds a special place in my heart. I know he'll never stumble upon this page but... thank you Dad for buying me this game.

This game had the best title music of all Mega Man games! I used to plug the cartridge in and let it play for like 10-15 minutes...Until my parents shouted they had had enough :D
It's such a shame that the recent SPACELAB9 "MEGA MAN: Best of Mega Man 1-10 LP" didn't include a single track from Mega Man 3. I'm glad that you've provided us with it. I personally believe Mega Man 3 music is one of the best of the series. I was told that the Capcom team picked what they thought were the best. They missed out for not including some of the best tracks right here.
I've listened to this all the way through more times than I care to think of, and according to my previous comments, I've been doing so since April... Man, I love the Mega Man 3 soundtrack!
This soundtrack definitely brings back great childhood memories. My friend stayed over for the night while we collaborated on trying to beat this game. Pizza and soda for dinner as I wrote down the password to save our progress (we watched Batman while we ate), then up until the late hours of the night getting past the Megaman2 reincarnates that inhabited Gutsman's body and working our way into Wily's fortress thereafter. It wasn't until the following morning that we beat the final boss. After much experimentation we figured out that you have to use Top spin on the robots head after weakening him with hard knuckle. Mom surprised us with a pancake breakfast that morning, which we enjoyed very much after victory. Then off to play outside while one of us pretended to be Megaman and the other one of Wily's robots that he had to contend with. Later that afternoon my friend's mom came by to pick him up since it was Sunday and we had to get ready for school the next day. Childhood sure was great and I miss every little moment from that time. And John you sure were a great pal and I'm glad that you came along for the journey. Sucks that we grew apart as we got older but I guess that's all part of growing up and going our separate ways in life. Luckily a while back I found the Megaman collection on ps2 so I can revisit those days whenever I like, and for sure I have you there in thought just like how you were in the good ol days. And in that moment I couldn't be happier.

I wish that Nintendo had thought about stereo sound with the NES as in-depth as these sound. A little bit of effects makes a huge difference and borderlines 16-bit. Guess they couldn't afford to add any extra sound processing, not to mention it would fall back on game developers to utilize it. I'm always so impressed to hear 8-bit music presented like this because not only is it nostalgic, but it far surpasses what was available at the time.
I love the Weapon Upgrade song in this game. I just love this whole freaking soundtrack in general! I'm a major fan of Mega Man II, but I love this one in a different way.
Proud to still own all 6 megaman titles for the NES still with their boxes and wouldn't trade them for anything in the world. =) Classic games, good times, the era before I got my hands on the Sega Genesis which changed my world of gaming forever lol.

My favorite music tracks from the game were always Shadow Man, Snake Man, Magnet Man, Top Man, and Dr. Wily's Castle 2!!! This is also my favorite Mega Man game in the series.
Proto Man's whistle... one of my favorite all time video game songs... Great overall OST. Not sure if any game defined my child hood more than Mega Man 3. They just don't make 'em like they used to..
I think MM3 was the first NES game I ever played. My first memory is of Spark Man stage and being blown away at how cool the music was! I was super young and obviously died a lot but didn't care because then I was able to listen to the Password theme and Enemy Select all the time. To this day the stage select screen is one of my favorite tunes of ANY game. Thanks for the upload!
***** Some friends told me to stay away for the 72 pin connector. I hear it messed up your games in the long run. All my NES games still work like a charm. I just use a q tip and a dab of windex. Buy some dust covers and you are set. I am paranoid with my stuff.

Awesome music for an 8-bit game. The Mega Man series had some incredibly composed music. Top Man is my personal fave, effortlessly catchy. A compulsively listenable soundtrack.
I'm partial to Magnet Man. Even though he was supposed to be first in line for fighting the robot masters, I always picked him last because his tune was so good. Spark man a close second.
As a kid, nothing got me more hyped and ready to battle as the "Enemy Robot Selected" music and the most rewarding thing was the "Weapon Upgrade". Ah, memories! :P

Cant believe i havent commented on this one yet, but im ready to be flamed. This is my favorite Mega Man soundtrack, by far. People go for 2 usually, but to me 3 just tops by far. I love every tune in this game, they're all catchy and it has its own distinct feel from the second game. It never fails to put a smile on my face even when im feeling down. It's also a big inspiration to make my own 8bit music (even if i suck at it). Thanks again for this, I really appreciate it.
Needle Man in Stereo makes me appreciate the BGM much more than I ever did as a kid finessing his battered NES to play this game. It's that damn good. :O
Just a stoned nerds thoughts... Simply put this is one of the best video game soundtracks of all time. I almost consider it on par with YMO's work, particularly in comparing the consistent strength of the strong synth pop 80s melodies from start to finish. Like, listening to these old OSTs as "albums" the consistency of the work is what is really amazing, I think the only other NES soundtrack that really carries that strong from start to finish, in terms of melodic structure, is Skate Or Die. If I had to pick one song off the album only, which is really hard, I might pick Wily's Castle 2... but my favorite cover off this album is not brentalfloss's MM w/ Lyrics, but The Advantage's version of Flash Man.
One of my personal favorite games period, the absolute best soundtrack in the entirety of the classic series (MMX, MMX3, MM4 and MM5 being the only others this good start to finish). I nearly teared up at how close and how awesome the Mega's "History Repeating" was.
The composer Yasuaki Fujita is an absolute musical genious. Some of if not the best music for nes and not to mention how is it pretty much universally loved by all. That man needs some more recognition.

From this point on you knew things were gonna get CLASSIC. Intro, Stage selecting screen, Spark Man, the Proto-Man whistle, This soundtrack is amazing in its subtleties and the more structured use of the sound media. Perhaps its only sin it's having an average boss theme. This one's my personal favourite Megaman OST, along with VI.
When playing the game, the MM2 intro with the rising sky scraper is awesome, but I always loved the simple titles screen with the amazing opening song to MM3.
Kinda interesting how Capcom went ahead and made the eight greatest robot master themes in existence and then went ahead and put them all in one game for us. What a solid fucking soundtrack, even for Mega Man.
I remember playing this in the 90's. To this day this stands as my favorite mega man game of all time. Snake man since then has been my favorite villian and the music is the reason why.

My favorite music tracks from the game were always Shadow Man, Snake Man, Magnet Man, Top Man, and Dr. Wily's Castle 2!!! This is also my favorite Mega Man game in the series.

Proto Man's whistle... one of my favorite all time video game songs... Great overall OST. Not sure if any game defined my child hood more than Mega Man 3. They just don't make 'em like they used to..

I think MM3 was the first NES game I ever played. My first memory is of Spark Man stage and being blown away at how cool the music was! I was super young and obviously died a lot but didn't care because then I was able to listen to the Password theme and Enemy Select all the time. To this day the stage select screen is one of my favorite tunes of ANY game. Thanks for the upload!

***** Some friends told me to stay away for the 72 pin connector. I hear it messed up your games in the long run. All my NES games still work like a charm. I just use a q tip and a dab of windex. Buy some dust covers and you are set. I am paranoid with my stuff.

Awesome music for an 8-bit game. The Mega Man series had some incredibly composed music. Top Man is my personal fave, effortlessly catchy. A compulsively listenable soundtrack.
I'm partial to Magnet Man. Even though he was supposed to be first in line for fighting the robot masters, I always picked him last because his tune was so good. Spark man a close second.

As a kid, nothing got me more hyped and ready to battle as the "Enemy Robot Selected" music and the most rewarding thing was the "Weapon Upgrade". Ah, memories! :P

Cant believe i havent commented on this one yet, but im ready to be flamed.
This is my favorite Mega Man soundtrack, by far. People go for 2 usually, but to me 3 just tops by far. I love every tune in this game, they're all catchy and it has its own distinct feel from the second game. It never fails to put a smile on my face even when im feeling down. It's also a big inspiration to make my own 8bit music (even if i suck at it). Thanks again for this, I really appreciate it.
Finally beating a stage and hearing that weapon upgrade screen music as a kid was extremely satisfying.

Needle Man in Stereo makes me appreciate the BGM much more than I ever did as a kid finessing his battered NES to play this game. It's that damn good. :O
Just a stoned nerds thoughts... Simply put this is one of the best video game soundtracks of all time. I almost consider it on par with YMO's work, particularly in comparing the consistent strength of the strong synth pop 80s melodies from start to finish. Like, listening to these old OSTs as "albums" the consistency of the work is what is really amazing, I think the only other NES soundtrack that really carries that strong from start to finish, in terms of melodic structure, is Skate Or Die. If I had to pick one song off the album only, which is really hard, I might pick Wily's Castle 2... but my favorite cover off this album is not brentalfloss's MM w/ Lyrics, but The Advantage's version of Flash Man.

One of my personal favorite games period, the absolute best soundtrack in the entirety of the classic series (MMX, MMX3, MM4 and MM5 being the only others this good start to finish). I nearly teared up at how close and how awesome the Mega's "History Repeating" was.
The composer Yasuaki Fujita is an absolute musical genious. Some of if not the best music for nes and not to mention how is it pretty much universally loved by all. That man needs some more recognition.
Personal favorites are Dr. Wily's Castle and Wily Boss. Those tracks just get me so pumped!

When playing the game, the MM2 intro with the rising sky scraper is awesome, but I always loved the simple titles screen with the amazing opening song to MM3.
Kinda interesting how Capcom went ahead and made the eight greatest robot master themes in existence and then went ahead and put them all in one game for us.

I remember playing this in the 90's. To this day this stands as my favorite mega man game of all time. Snake man since then has been my favorite villian and the music is the reason why.

Not sure if you'll see this Nico. But I would support you if you start a Patreon and finish up the 8Bit stereos and then start on SNES and Genesis games. I'm sure others would as well. It should be legal because you don't make money off the YT vids, we're just supporting you.

+xBlitzerx I have considered Patreon, but it would mostly by for my GamingGoingGone channel for my reviews and such, as I wouldn't have much to offer here with 8BS for Patreon, aside from getting rid of waiting time for download links entirely. But sadly I don't have plans to upload 16-Bit soundtracks, as I have nothing new to offer in how they sound, as SNES/Genesis are technically already are in Stereo, I just have no way to make them sound more clear and crisp like 8Bit music here. I have plans after 8BitStereo to continue music uploads, but that won't be for awhile.
But thanks for the words about this, maybe I'll open a Patreon down the line if anyone would still want to support my original content creation, and add things like no more wait time for download links for 8BS! :)
+WiiGuy's 8BitStereo For SNES music...there are ways. But I honestly wouldn't bother as there is a gross over-saturation of video game music videos on UA-cam. Without something as novel as stereo NES music, its hard to get much in the way of views.
