Four absolute legends riding those roads in that weather.
Like Noraly Showenmaker ~ (you know her ~ Itchy Boots ~ ) You are able to narrate through your ride through the amazing Brit countryside. All your verbal comments are so appreciated. And then a huge shout out "Thank You" to your friends there who are also so much fun to see negotiate along the ride. At 70 years old, trying to take on riding my "new" 95' Honda Nighthawk cb750 I am increasingly in awe of well, I guess it's just physics. There is a physical part to motorcycles ~ I am enjoying the challenge. Thank you for this. 〰✨🌿👍🌿✨〰. New Hampshire.
Noraly Schoenmaker 😊
No comparison between itchy boots and this 3 way only fans lesbian
@@dominic9279. W.T.F sort of comment is that..get a life please
Absolutely love the variety of bikes on this trip 👍👍 people get so caught up in what bike and bike stats and forget that the most important part is to just get out and enjoy the ride no matter what you're on.
Kate, at idle that Norton sounds like a bag of spanners in a tumble dryer 😮
Well done for persevering in the rain.
A perfect demonstration of why a proper satnav is better than a phone ;)
I like the brooding skies, and really liked the descent into Honister Pass. The fog in that other pass I started to think of American Werewolf in London (as they are hiking in the beginning). With how narrow you roads are (as it seems to these American eyes) It's almost like they are just motorcycle pathways, which would be awesome if it were true. These last two trips with Lily have been a lot of fun. Thanks for taking us along.
Great vlog and love the sound of the Norton! Watching from Sydney, but I’ve driven those passes many times in my youth. Great trip down memory lane!
Memories! A part of the garden at my grandparents house came from the slate tip at Honister. Hardknott was my test road (from Eskdale) for all my bikes/cars in my younger days. The same direction that you took. First bike up there was a Ducati 250 with clip-ons from 1975. No problem.
Lovely video Kate. Typical British weather.Glad you all had a nice ride even in the wet.
Kudos to you all for not wimping out in that less than desirable weather. It kinda puts paid to any thought of throwing the bikes into a corner when it's like that 🌧
I know what you mean about the exhaust note. My 2002 Yamaha TDM900 has a parallel twin with a 270 degree crank and twin MIVV pipes and it sounds GLORIOUS!!! Especially, blipping on the downshift. Drool 🤤
I've been over Hardnott twice but always in the dry and on a sunny day, never in rain and low cloud. When you get to some of those really tight hairpins you just pray a car isn't coming the opposite way. Last time you reviewed the BSA GoldStar do you think the Norton is worth 3 times as much, got to say on noise alone it sounds like a bag full of bolts.
Well even if it did rain, and the “ladygarden” got wet 😆, that’s what makes the countryside so lunch and green, and the flowers so bright 😉👍! Beautiful scenic trip even with the rain and fog, fantastic accommodations, thanks for taking us along😃.
It's called the Lake District for a reason. The water had to come from somewhere...
Excellent! Great soundtrack too. Really enjoyed this, its my favourite type of video. Camera following other bikes on challenging and twisting roads. I've done Hardknot pass. If a bikes going to get dropped its there.
I did these passes from Wrynose Pass, clockwise the other day in the sunshine. Did Hardnott Pass early morning when it was quite, just be confident and take it easy.
Stunning scenery, some nice roads, miserable weather! Given up on this year, its persisted down since March 🙁
Brings back memories you riding my local roads while I watch from Australia. There's a nice pub at the top of Kirkstone Pass that you turned left just before you reached it.
That may well be the Kirkstone Inn
This was a great video. One thing you might want to pack on future adventures is a paper map so when the phone has no service you'll know where you should be going. Or a GPS, they don't require a phone connection to work. Happy Bday Kate !
Did exactly this 2 years ago in September, sunny every day. Great fun. Hardknott is great fun.
Great part 2 ladies it was smashing to wake up to this today a nice peaceful Sunday morning watching you endure the weather , I love inclement weather especially when you're prepared for it and what a gorgeous place the lakes are !! The Norton sounds immense simply delightful all round Katie dear 👍
Lovely. You lasses did amazing, and the views were incredible. Tried going camping up there years ago on my Ninja, but it was pretty much all flooded out. Had to abandon my holiday 😞 Obviously I went ill prepared. I'll plan better next time. Well done, a Birthday to remember 🙂
Great video Kate some of those roads looked treacherous. Ride safe
Nice, nice, nice. Especially the passes and the hairpins, despite the freeking wheater you did well ladies.
Love the video, you girls kick ass. But the roads look like they could do with some resurfacing.
Besides your birthday, congratulations to you and your henchwomen getting safely through that lot. I've seen more than enough videos of people having trouble on Hardknott pass. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
To borrow a phrase from bakeoff there's nothing worse than a soggy bottom. Nice trip, happy birthday Kate.
Welcome back to the UK, in the rain, on your bad girl noisy Norton! The two piss pots on the handlebars look hilarious! Great vid.
Great vid,unlike the weather 😮.
Stay safe 😂.
The landscape looks like something out of Lord of the Rings, just beautiful if a bit soggy! Great vid Kate and Happy Birthday looks like you had a great time 👍
Great ride out with ya mates.. what a variety of bikes as well. Nice job. 👍
I think I’d want something big with flat bars for that type of work. Lucia had the best tool for the job this time 😂
Cold...damp...ladygarden... 🎶 😂😂😂😂
If only you'd been here the week earlier, it was beyond beautiful weather.. Still looks like you all had a great one, -so great to watch. 🙂
Those passes are so different to the Alps... I nearly dropped my new S1000RR on Hardknott last year. It's so narrow, steep and rough compared to my usual rides in Switzerland. I'm not sure if I'd do it again even on a more suitable bike, the weight and height of an adventure bike might make things worse!
This video gives a great view of what riding these passes is really like 👍🏻
WOW, those passes in the rain and fog was crazy.....thoroughly enjoyed it.
6:30 min: Know what you mean. That view must have been stunning in 3D. Those low clouds alone already …. 😍
That’s some big breakfast, hope it gave you all time to warm up.
Wow you wasn't kidding about the weather 😳. It's that first trickle that gets through that's the worst isn't it 😂
Love your pop-up book reference!
Hi kate, Thanks for another great video, I always say roll on summer let's have some warmer rain 😂, although I don't think it was much warmer than winter rain this year. The Norton sounds more like a tractor 🚜 than a bike 🏍, good riding ladies on rough roads and pouring rain 👍.Take care, Best wishes Roy 😊.
Happy birthday Kate hope you had a fab day out in some challenging conditions but what a fantastic way to celebrate x🥂🍾🏍️🏍️🏍️
The Titanic didn’t get that wet! Well done for seeing it through. Hope it was a good birthday!
Fair play riding Hardknott. It’s not easy. The Norton was a terrible bike for the Lakes. Good vid 😊
That was really beautiful , everything.
great adventure.. at least the rain kept the roads clear for you of tourist traffic
I admire you all riding the passes in crap weather . Hard knots was not enjoyable in a car in dry so you all need medals😊
Ahh you visited Moss Force Waterfall (Newlands Pass), I've been wanting to see that for awhile now. Great video as always Kate, shame the weather wasn't great for you's though. :(
A truly great video. You girls had to suffer for it but every vista is a beauty. Even the hazy ones are full of atmosphere (literally!). Very nice to watch from a comfy chair, without any wet real estate! 😘
❤ video, the weather typical for the UK 😂..
My guess is you are probably a bit light for the suspension settings on the Norton. I am opposite from you. When on a twisty pass with dodgy surface, I prefer going up. I feel more in control.
Beautiful country and roads. Too bad about the rain. Still looked like fun 😎👍❤
“There is a big old cow in the road!” That’s no way to talk about a friend! 😉
I enjoyed that. I live on the doorstep and never knew about Plumgarths which looks fabulous.
love it , need more of your old man though sorry username Dad i love that Norton looked awesome
You need to move somewhere that doesn't have so wet and gloomy weather! Great video, props to you and your crew for riding thru that mess!
Slate quarries remind me of the Yorkshire coast. I was at the time very taken by the industrial archeology but also startled by the fact that the coast is constantly being eroded. Talking about the sublime!
The lake district looks like an awesome place to ride - next summer i will head up there
Great Video Kate, I was there the other week with some mates doing some moto camping. Your accommodation looked way better 😅 than the route. You did all the passes I did.
With such weather I’d prefer to go up hairpins. The clutch can then be used to dose traction. That’s much more tricky when coming down as far as I am concerned.
I love when you do these videos. Thanks.
Really enjoyed the video and hats off to you all for riding in such atrocious conditions, having watched a few of your videos and living not far from the Lakes It 😀was really interesting.
Are we going to see some content on Username Dad's GS??
And what is the difference between a Tea room and a cafe??
Love from India 🇮🇳 and belated Happy birthday 🎂🎈🎂🙏
I have a video on dads GS edited :)
Ulang tahun yang dirayakan dengan cara yang sangat unik.....gas pol!
Hey Kate another great vlog I'm looking forward to seeing this later on wearing your biker gear and your world famous swanky helmet and dark visor ride safe lovely with lily and the girls only one username Kate ❤
I’ve cycled all of the passes from both directions so I’m very familiar with these roads. (You missed out kirkstone pass by coming the wrong direction by the way). Gotta say, I wouldn’t attempt Hardknott in that kinda weather on my motorbike. Super impressed you all made it though (sigh of relief). There’s been many a bike dropped on those bends. Kudos to you ladies 🤙
love the way the norton sounds like a chugging steam train when its idling 😂
Wow! that Norton sounds Great!!
Glad u enjoyed. 😊
I also have a 2 cilinder in line (F800GT) and really like it. I guess the recording doesn’t do the norton justice but it does sound like a tractor, specially when going slow downhill :)
I was there with 2 mates on the 1st to the 4th this month, hard knott pass was hard.
We took our camping gear and had a great time.
Hardknott and Wrynose in good weather and loads of self obsessed car drivers or bad weather and no cars? Having done both, would defiantly chose the latter👍👍
Or option 3... I really really early ride with no cars and great weather... can I pick that? 🤣
@@UsernameKate unfortunately takes me a couple of hours to get the old bones moving 👴🏻👴🏻 Ps Keep up the great work👍
haha i feel that
Looks like you had a lovely birthday but that Norton looks like a handful. I wouldn’t mind doing that rout
I liked ducky no idea what bike it is though I’d guess at a v storm
Vstrom 800DE
Hats off to you guys doing hardknott in those conditions ✌️
i don't mind coming second 😂😂
Best place to ride a bike with a camera in my opinion.
Looks like you could have used a submarine! Thanks for sharing your adventures
Can we get a vid on that Suzuki and what she has done to it, looks awesome 👍
That Norton sound very agricultural at tick over, but sounds gorgeous on the move lol.
Present! 😍
Commando, Commando! The Commander was a touring version of the rotary engine bike. More my kind of thing.
14:25 that 8 series 😍
I know right?!!?
I remember riding in the UK. If you waited for it stop raining, let alone the sun come out, you never went anywhere.
The road surface looks terrible, and i won't even mention the weather 😅 looked like Grace was taking it easy on her new bike. 👍👍
Ha! That's so funny. I'd much rather go up hairpins!
Shame about the weather but love it over there.
You've missed the Kirkstone Pass by turning left, you should of gone straight on down to Ullswater, then you have gone cross country to Whinlatter and then looped in others. I did Kirkstone, Wrynnnose and Hardknott last weekend on the Himmy, best bike for them as you can ride it like you stole it....😅. Nice to see the ladies on the bikes👍
I think the right turn to Ambleside is still better, especially coming up from there. Should of?
Oooooh noooo! Better save this one for a quit moment when I am psychologically up to it, sitting in a chair with sturdy armrests, drinking something soothing. 😁
You have an artists eye, Kate. Rather unexpected in a Stealth Black lover. 🤣 Although: Ever heard of the beauty of the sublime?
Excellent 😃
Very British looking stone walls, fog and green everywhere
Kate, you were right. Left turn was down to Ambleside, down the struggle. Kirkstone was straight ahead.😅
The struggle was still a beautiful road so didn't really matter 😊
Happy birthday to you 🎉🎉
First
I expected NOTHING less haha
ive done those passes in boiling hot weather and honnister is by far the best . going back in 2025 with upto 10 other bikers
can u tell us where u stayed as looking for on place for us all .
Shame you didn't get over Kirkstone pass. The best roads are just after you turned off! Great vid keep it up!
Been resurfaced I believe!! 🥹
I have often wondered why it's called the LAKE district 🤔, do you think that it's because it rains a bit 😅? It definitely looked like a brilliant weekend. As for your mate on the 9T, why didn't she ring BMW rescue? They came out to me at home a few weeks ago and, sorted out a problem with my bike. A brilliant service 👍😊.
Because she had commitments in London and was also conscious that we only had one day planned on the bikes and it was now or never. It's been back to BMW in London when she got back and because it's a press bike, it's gone back to BMW UK. Bikes battery voltage was showing full but it just wouldn't start.
@@UsernameKate Ah right I get you. You would think that being a press bike, bmw uk would have made shure it was 101% right. The only good thing was that it didn't play up as you were in the arse end of nowhere 😦.
very true!
Talking of popup books, I had one called "Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson go boating"
You barely mentioned Wrynose which you did at the end just after Hardnott, in better weather the views are awesome. You live not far from one of my favourite places to visit and ride which is the Forest of Bowland. I love riding it from north to south, generally starting from Morecombe/Lancaster, head to Whitewell or Slaidburn then tend to head over to Settle or into the Dale's. Have you made any videos there? BTW I live down south, for cows in the road, come ride the New Forest, we'll throw in a few horses and maybe some pigs for good measure. Also, happy birthday.
Yea my maths didn't math and I was under the impression we were doing 5 passes. I have lots of videos in the Slaidburn/Trough area, in fact I've got a Rocket 3R video filmed Sawley way and a Norton video filmed up Slaidburn to Higher Bentham 😊 watch this space 😊 hope you enjoyed it 😊
@UsernameKate yes I enjoyed the video, I've done all the passes though not in one day, luckily that means I've seen most at least once in sunshine. I look out for your Bowland videos. I miss riding the lakes, Bowland and Dale's though I was up there for Dave Day it was just a flying visit.
Well done to all of you. Not wimping out and riding really well. Freddie Dobbs was not very complementary about that Norton. 👍
"Lucia on Duckie" ... jeez, at least buy me a drink first. :P
LOL
