      Dearest Majesty, what an honour to meet you! I adore you, and wished I would be able to make a visit! But I am only a little human, a nothing; compared to Your Majesty and the eternal space, I do not even exist.
      You are in my heart and soul. The moment I will die, my soul will be free, and I will make a flight through space. When I was small, my Mama told me this would be true one day, and she is now on her trip. It is so sad for us tiny humans, if another human leaves us, but everytime, when I think she is free now and visits you and every other interesting spot in universe, I think it is greedy to long she could have stayed with me forever. We little stupid and boring humans are nothing, compared with you, my beloved Majesty.
      I wished I could watch the space from you. One day... :)

I love you a lots and you are the most different planet from all of them. As you know your discovery was / Your existence was special and so your characteristics are. Every day with every news you amaze me and bring tears of joy. I know its cold out there and you and Triton are freezing. But one day our Sun will grow into a big boy and give you more heat okay? Its a promise! I know I won't exist when that time comes, but remember you will always be my fav planet and I will always love you. My home is Earth, but you are my heart!

      1:32 See, that´s a point I NEVER understood about astronomy: You say, we know how Neptune looks, after Voyager 2 arrived. Have we a consistent online data connection to it? Really? HOW??
      I mean, I only learned mechatronic technician for 3 and a half years but at such vast distance, the further away Voyager 2 gets, wouldn´t it take THE further more time for the data it collects to travel BACK to earth??
      I mean, that data has to travel in SOME way, right? It doesn´t travel instantly and I´m sure, we don´t have a long chord attached to Voyager 2 at all time....
      So what is it? Am I right and Voyager 2 has just travelled WAAAAAY past that point a long ass time ago or what am I misunderstanding here?....

    • @acidasgtr
      @acidasgtr 5 років тому +23

      Actually, calling these winds supersonic is a bit of a stretch. If a layer of atmosphere is moving at supersonic speed vs surface does not mean anything scary unless this layer actually is in contact with surface. If you are in this layer, you wouldn't even know, as you will be moving with it. There should be a strong vertical gradient of wind speed and winds at surface probably are not at supersonic. Supersonic has only a meaning where it is something that is going at a relative velocity to the fluid. If the whole fluid has this speed it does not matter much.

    I spend a large (arguably unhealthy) amount of time learning about the planets, so it's not too often anymore that I learn something new, especially not something as shocking as Neptune having moons that take a quarter century to orbit! I looked it up afterwards, and Neptune's outermost moon Neso actually orbits further away from it than Mercury does from the Sun! Thanks for adding that fact in this video, it was genuinely mind-blowing to me.

    • @brickx4106
      @brickx4106 4 роки тому +15

      Its the same distance from Earth to Venus as well 26-30 million miles. At its closest to the Sun Mercury is 29 million miles from the Sun. At it's farthest Mercury is 43 million miles from the Sun. The reason why Neso and it's other moons are so far away is because of Neptune's hillsphere. Neptune's gravity is stronger than the Sun's gravity out Neptune so the Planet can grab objects from far away.

      Here are the problems:Neptune is an ocean world surrounded by hydrogen gas and cold temperatures. If you went to Neptune with a magic ship which floats on water and you open the windows. You will get hit by very fast winds and your ship would get filled with Methane and hydrogen gas and water. I think that it will react with the oxygen in your ship and fill your ship with water out of nowhere. If neptune was in the goldilocks zone, the hydrogen liquid will turn into gas and rise into the atmosphere. So you better be careful or else you might just drown in the oceans of neptune. The idea of a captured moon is absolutely fascinating, I guess we'll never know where Triton originated from, perhaps in the future we'll spot some similar sized bodies traversing the galaxy alone.
    And if Triton is a captured body then I wonder how many similar sized bodies have passed through our solar system and kept on going over the last few billion years. And how many earth to Jupiter sized bodies are whizzing around our galaxy outside of solar systems? Astronomy is awesome, I hope we're wrong about physics because exploring the universe in FTL ships would be awesome, maybe we'd have scout ahead ships to prevent collisions with the main ship.

    You know, I think your videos are the best I have ever seen on space and astronomy! They're full of fascinating facts and information, but you never sensationalise them or dumb them down, keeping the viewer's attention with quality images and animations, and your very obvious love for the subject. In these days where the majority of television and film (and politics in my opinion) consists largely of a constantly re-stated celebration of ignorance, boorishness, and science denial, these videos are like a shot of concentrated hope and enthusiasm for humanity. I know that sounds overly dramatic, but I always feel better about our species after watching them.
