- No guitars were harmed in the filming of this video, eventhough three were accidentally knocked over.😁 There's just no room to get around in here, especially if you're looking somewhere other than where you're going. It's also impossible to knock over just one guitar. If one goes, they all go.
So you might be wondering, why so many guitars in such a small space? Until two years ago, we had a property that we called "The Car Farm". On that property was a nearly 6000 square foot building that housed all of my "junk". I had a bunch of old hot rods there and all my guitars. Plenty of room. When I retired two years ago, I sold the car farm and all but one of my cars, and brought all the guitars to the little trailer. Not a good fit. The trailer is near my home, and was my only option.
I have a "shop", but it's not insulated, and it gets too hot for the guitars during the summer months. By the way, the shop is also full of "junk", including approximately 20 sets of drums, 2000 record albums, 3000 hot wheels/matchbox cars, 100 old radios, and 30 totes full of "I don't know what". All of which were bargains that I found over the past 25 years all over the united states as a pipeliner. Every weekend I would hit all the flea markets and yardsales in the area. You can get some crazy deals on junky guitars at pawnshops if you wait till the end of the month and then buy 10 or 15 at a time! I would work on these guitars at night as I don't sleep much. On my last job before retirement near Wheeling West Virginia, I bought 76 guitars and all but one was finished before I left. When the jobs would end, I'd drag it all home. The "problem" is, I never sell anything.
But there are worse "problems", right? 😊
It looks like a place I might go when I pass on! Love it.
I'm right there with ya. Would'nt that be awesome?
Thanks for your comments.
thanks leon
it is amazing how just hearing the words “ The Shed “ brings back so many wonderful feelings and memories
one of those very special times in many folks lives
I feel the same way about this particular "shed". And without the "many folks" you refer to, it would literally have been just another shed. : )
Many times, I've tried to count the actual number of folks that made the shed special over the years. All I can say is it was a bunch.
Unusual,extraordinary collection of guitars..I could be in there all day.,looking at..wanting to play.Leaves me salivating😍. 4:57
I could absolutely get lost in that room. Wow. Thanks for sharing with us your wonderful collection of guitars and a bit of music history.
You are very welcome.
Thank you for your kind comments.
Wow dude!!!
Awesome collection! Hope you have all these insured appropriately
I believe you got room for 2 more LOL cool collection o buddy
Yes, but the problem is, I've said that very same thing for the last 40 guitars that I've brought in!😂
Thanks for your comments.
Wow! In such a good way. I inspire for a shed like yours. Awesome collection.
Thank you. I appreciate your kind comments.
And a trailer like yours too!!
I love those vintage "cheaper" guitars.. they are so interesting to check out
I definitely agree.
Thank you for your comments.
Always a pleasure to see other guitar horders, when someone ask me what is my favorite, I say all of them, I know what you mean about changing, I went through an LP faze, then strats, then had to have P90 loaded guitars, just getting over an SG obsession, for awhile it was teles, offsets ect, I tried to diversify my collection, but I often get stuck on one style and have more then one guitar in the same style and color too.
Same here.
I think your exactly right about all of them being the favorite. Generally, the last one I bought or built becomes my favorite temporarily until I buy or build the next one. I'm not too picky when it comes to style or brand of guitar. I like modified guitars regardless of brand because I want mine to be different. And I never build two guitars the same.
Thank you for your comments.
Very cool , sir! I've got an ever-expanding load of em here at my place too , but I gotta bow to the master - well done , man . I really like that music you're playing too. All the best to you!
Thank you. Always glad to hear from a fellow guitar enthusiast.
Thanks for your comments.
Old Tube amp it is very easy to repair and last forever, there is all information on schematics online and how to fix everythink inside.
I don't think I've ever heard anyone describe working on old tube amps as "easy" before. You must be very talented at it. I'm afraid that I am not. I agree though that there is a lot of info online about them.
Thank you for your comments, I really appreciate it. 😊
I don't feel so bad owning around 12-15 guitars now. I can always show the wife this video.
Funny!
Thanks for your comment.
I DIG.👍
Cool.
Thanks for your comment.
great video subbed
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I thought i was Bad Jonesing way to go on your collection
Thank you.
Why do I think there is an Ex-Wife somewhere that complained about him buying guitars.
Funny.
No ex. There is a wife though, and in our 35 years together she has never once complained about my addiction or tried to get me help. 😁
Thanks for your comment.
@@trailertrashguitars😂 she's gave up after the first 50 or so !?
I’d consolidate the lower end guitars to make room for high end guitars.id love to have myself a spot like that.im working on it😊
Thanks for your comment.
4:56 Is the tele a geninune 50s or 60s one? looks sweet with the ashtray cover.
No, it's not quite that old. In fact, I'm not sure it's even an actual Fender. Might just be a really good copy. I'm not sure what year it is, but it is fairly old cause I've had it for a long time. Either way, it's a great playing guitar and I really like it.
Thank you for your comment.
This makes me feel less guilty about owning 5 Knaggs guitars.
Glad I could help.
But in reality, your five Knaggs guitars probably cost more than all five hundred of my "not Knaggs" guitars. So I'm not really sure if you should feel less guilty or not.🤔😁😂
Thanks for your comment.
You should consolidate all of these instruments and buy some things that are really valuable
Did that little white bass have a tremolo bar?
Yes it does. Good eye. I actually have two basses with whammy bars. The one standing in front of the drum set (has Fender written on the headstock) was built by my dad's friend Walter Frost back in the late 1950s when electric basses were still a relatively new concept. He gave the bass to my dad in 1969, and my dad gave it to me in 1998. I also have a double neck guitar (bass on top, 6-string guitar on bottom) that Walter built around the same time and played until he died.
The other one is a zebra striped strat that is hanging on the wall. My wife told me she wanted me to build a stratocaster bass guitar with a working whammy bar because she had never seen one. So I did. It was a way bigger challenge than I thought it would be. But it turned out geat (for some unknown reason).😊
Thank you for your question, as you can tell I love talking about my guitars. To me, the stories behind these old guitars is as important as the guitars themselves.
Do you sell guitars as well as collect them ?
No I never sell any of my guitars, that's why I have so many!😊 I do this as a hobby only, and selling is something I've never had any interest in. Besides, by the time I get a guitar built, repaired, modified, or whatever, I'm already too attached to get rid of it.
Thanks for your comments.
@@trailertrashguitars You have an Awesome Collection. Thanks for Sharing.
@@denro0 Thank you. And thank you for your interest.
I feel less guilty about owning 14 guitar now 😂
Glad I could help!😊
Thanks for your comment.
What zip code do you live in?
I live in Arkansas.
Thin the guitars down to American brands Jackson/ Peavey/ fender / gibson / Martin only
Okay, I'll get right on that boss.
Would someone want 500 guitars with a average value of $100 a guitar, or 20 guitars with a value of $3500 each.
,,,....ATTENTION,,,..eathlings,,,.....an Ibanez has been spotted in the back room,...............HURRY,....LIMITED TIME ONLY😮😮❤
Just one? There's probably close to 20 more Ibanez family members scattered around the trailer. But some of them are so highly modified that you would have to be an Ibanez expert to identify them. 😁
Thanks for your comment.
Its almost not a collection, having so much.
Why?
Start selling some things brother.
I have never considered my guitars a "collection", more of an accumulation. There are no rules for accumulating, whereas there is for collecting.
Why? Couldn't say.
Thanks for your comments.
@@user-qd9mm5mt4iSell some guitars you say? No thank you. 😊
A guitar hoarder???? soinds like a subject for a tv show
Yeah, cause I guarantee you there would be plenty of drama if they tried to get me to clean out my trailer! 😊🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸✌
Thanks for your comment.
Idolatry. Seek jesus. Sell and help widows and orphans.
This is how sneaky hidden sin hobby becomes sin.
Psycho. Seek help. Sell and help others like you.
This is how sneaky hidden stupidity becomes public.
Eye for an eye, right? (rhetorical, do not respond!)🤨
Leon-do you have any vintage Fender Strats? I’m looking. I have some very nice late model guitars I can trade for if you’re interested. I have a lot of Fender American Strats and a really nice basically new Fender Champion 50XL amp that I can sell or trade. It’s great but I got a deal on a Champion 100XL that I’m keeping. Nice tour of unimaginable collection of my second favorite ❤️ things 🎸.
👍☮️🌞🎸🎵🩵
No, my oldest strats are early '80s, but I couldn't bear to part with 'em.
And if I bought another amp I'd have to leave it outside. The inn is full.😊
