I have been looking for a chest pack that can be setup for at least 3 different applications. Hunting setup to hold binoculars. Day hike setup to hold a 10mm and bear spray. AR mag rig for AR classes. This looks like a great option.
I’ll stick with the HelikonTex Numbat for $70.00. As a bonus, it has built in front wall utility pouch and slots without paying additional money. Yours as setup is around $200.00 without the added ccw holster or external pouch.
just got mine in the mail, my question is what is the extra strap for? mine came with an extra strap? thanks for the video it helped me get my new chest rig sorted out right out of the box
That looks fairly bulky, the Helikon Tex numbat is an excellent civilian style chest rig, big bang for buck - military, Platatac CRABS 2 system is the way to go - completely modular.
When it comes to harnesses, what is more comfortable between an H or an X harness really is dependent on the individual and their body type. I personally don't use either. I use an HX hybrid by Wise Men, and I find it superior to a typical H or X harness. It is a bit expensive, but comfortability is paramount to me. This is a nice pack, but I am not a fan of the rifle mag set up. I personally would not run it as a tactical chest rig due to this. In my experience, modularity is nice, but when these companies try and give you the ability to go from a tactical chest rig to a general purpose chest rig, they might do both good, but neither great.
Nice for weapon retention and access but no admin pouch , not even in their accessories to match up to it. For the price it should have a front admin pouch. Have had to many problems with laser cut molle attachments.
Does anybody make a chest rig where the enclosure is Velcro for the pistol access so I could just rip it open quickly ? By the time somebody got the zipper open in an emergency it could definitely be too late.
@@michaelbrohl1625 Leave the corner of the zipper open in the carry pocket. You can rip it open instantly. Research Hill People Gear kit bag pistol draw.
Just came across your channel, surely you got a lot of useful information! However, due to your patches, have you experienced any Sasquatch activity? Greetings from the Netherlands!
Modularity is not always best each time you have a velcro panel you add you add 2-3 layer of 500D cordura fabric plus 1-2 layer of velcro male or female panel so you add a lot of weight and bulk to your chest pack and to much of those is less confortable for me cause when i am bushcrafting and hiking it stick out too much and catch on brush and tree branches so maybe it is best for military/operators, law enforcement, etc but for me HPG kitbag is better the mesh back panel is better it is slimer and more confortable when pairing with a backpack HPG are pre pocketed so no need to buy add-on they are hook and loop compatible in a lot of model and compartment and you can buys models with molle if you want to add couples of mag for hunting. The one you have look a bit floppy on the top it ride kind of funny. For each their own so if you like it and it work for you use it well! Keep it up!
Hey there. Just wanted to reach out with some info. The total weight of our kit bag, with shoulder harness and everything is right around 13 oz. It's very light and negligible when you consider the modularity. We designed this so it sits flat when there is no pocket pouch in the rear for a low profile, allowing expandability. It's definitely not floppy, I believe he just didn't have it tightened all the way. It's adjustable at 4 points so it rides very tight to the body with the H harness. Our kit eliminates the need to buy two different kits, one for Bushcraft and another for Tactical. This kit bag serves both purposes, saving the end user money and the headache of swapping essential items between kits all the time. We aim to change the game and the mindset of preppers. I've been a lifelong prepper myself and ran survive drills in some of the harshest environments in the U.S. If your gear fails, you're toast. You can't carry food, water filter, fire starting equipment, etc. Without reliable kit, it's a no go. Plus, having the ability to swap to tactical advancement on the fly if SHTF while in the backwoods is priceless. Imagine having to carry two different kit setups for both purposes. Talk about getting heavy, and expensive.
HPG packs aren't very modular? They are completely modular. The kit bags are very modular. They may not be designed to fully take off the harness but that's it. All of their packs are designed around modularity. To say you're not a fan of any of their packs because the kit bag harnesses aren't removable feels like an unfair statement.
In regards to the kit bags, he’s not wrong. The only modularity is internal with the exception of the Recon series. But they designed it for a specific purpose (carrying a pistol), and being able to carry magazines like this one can was not its purpose. A better design on the HPG bags is the pistol compartment being against the body so it doesn’t pull away from you like the FT bag is.
Great and informative video !!! Waaay out of my price range, though. I have used a Condor E&E pouch, on a 5.11 chest rig harness a few times, but maybe not enough to get completely comfortable with it...and switched back to a fanny pack...then, back to a small backpack. Thank you for the review !!! Keep up the great work !!! P.S. if they could set it up for fanny pack, and sling pack/backpack carry (maybe like a molle/srb mating system), etc., for that price, it wouldn't be such a pain in the wallet...🤷♂️...just an idea.
All I see on UA-cam is insanely priced stuff with someone telling you you really need this. My chest rig was $20 it works great. In fact I like mine much better then this overpriced bag.
***EDIT: I emailed Full-tang Tactical using their contact us section of their website and received a nearly immediate response. (ALREADY IMPRESSED.) The owner responded and thoroughly answered all of my questions. I have already ordered my kitbag and have others picked out for future purchases. The cost for this kitbag is quite reasonable considering the versatility of this product. Plus, it’s 100% made in America and not cheap Chinese garbage. If you’re serious about being prepared, you’ll buy quality gear. Your life depends upon it so why would you buy gear that will fall apart in the field… while supporting a Communist Regime bringing harm to America? Save your money for the good stuff and give the Chinese garbage to the kids for play. I’m liking what I’ve seen thus far… without getting hands on their products, it’s really hard to tell though. Plus, the jury’s still out as to what the materials are used, if it’s Cordura Nylon and whether they’re a true American-made product. If they’re truly 100% American Made, I’ll give them a shot, even at that price. It’s disappointing to see Americans squawking over the price of products when they’re comparing them to slave labor products made of cheap polyester Chinese garbage. There really is no comparison. IMO. Buy once, cry once. Thank you for sharing. I messaged them and hope to learn more soon. ❤️ 🇺🇸

Wynex has a cool chest rig option too. 5.11 2-banger can be carried chest rig style too & has the side MOLLE that comes in handy.
Looks like a nice setup, that cord they used for the zipper pulls is called bump cord if i remeber correctly.

@thepreparedwanderer where can I find a holster for Glock 48 to fit the main pouch?
You just need an adjustable velcro holster

About $300 for rig and accessories panels? No thanks.

American made and you get what you pay for.
helikon tex numbat chest pack is better and its half the price
There is a Chinese version that might be better. Outdoor gear review has good info
Seems nice, but at the price point it is completely useless for me to have considered it without knowing the price
I’m going with their payment plan. Makes it affordable to have good reliable gear!
