I’ve since decided to do a chain through the back rims with something like a inter tube to protect the rim. And two straps through the front tires on at each wheel. I can still do the sides if I want to then.
@@Jtwes Yep I’m going to run a 2” strap through the rear wheels. Probably same in the front. Hook a safety chain on front and rear somewhere. I have a 6 hour drive back with it. Took a long time to find the right one lol. Thanks for the videos, I’m trying to learn how to set this thing up for my place.
Awesome. I have purchased a rotary tiller for my Massey Ferguson MF35. I will use the 140 for listing the rolls, cultivating and platinum corn and beans
@@Jtwes I brought it 3 years ago before my dad passed away. It's a great tractor. I also brought a disk turning plow for it and love the way it plows. Also have a 5 foot bush hog for it.
Like your channel, I'm in Georgia and have a 140 that I have owned for 40 years, I use a 3 point hitch accessory on it. no ideal what year it is, has a grill similar to yours but also has both international and Farmall decals on it. It is a 6 volt and goes through a lot of batteries because it is rarely used. keep the videos coming! Thanks!
Looks good Joey. Yeah that's where a drawbar on a A or Super A would work better for chaining it down on the rear end. Trailer looks good behind the new truck. Good looking tires also. One thing for certain is your 140 has better brakes on it than mine does. Guess I need to put a set in it so it is safer loading and unloading. Lord willing I plan on coming to your plow day if you have it. Thanks for sharing the video. God Bless you and your family.
@@Jtwes Sounds good. Hope to get to see you if it works out. I'm looking forward to the plow day. Sorry I couldn't make it last time. Take care and I will talk to you soon.
awesome. I have purchase a rotary tiller for my Massey Ferguson MF35 . I going to use the 140 for cultivating and listings the rolls. Planting the corn and beans.
Something my dad taught me when guiding someone who was backing is to, once you get them lined up, hold your hands as far apart as they need to go and move your hands together as the trailer gets closer to the hitch. If you clap your hands shut just a bit before they get the truck there, they will stop it at the right spot every time. Has always worked well for us and is a lot easier to see in a mirror than fingers wiggling and is quicker to signal stop by clapping than having to turn your hand around. You aren't changing motions so you react more quickly. Your chain rig looks pretty good.
@@Jtwes If I can scrounge up a trailer between now and then, I'm thinking about trying to make it up to your plow day in the fall. Might just come up without a tractor.
Hey Joe, It's all about being safe in the end but you already know that! I'm pretty sure you could haul the rest of that ''4020'' on that trailer with no problem if you wanted to......that is if it was red, lol. Another great video!
When I strap the back of my tractor to pull backwards I go through the rims. I use two inch straps those 10,000 pound ones. They still rub the paint off over time from the movement. When I trailer my tractor I go 3 hours each way if I bring it back and don't leave it so it has a good bit of travel time
get you an old fire hose and slide you chain through it and run through the rims brother...works like a charm and saves your paint! doesn't have to be long pieces of hose...bout 2 foot. let me know if you need some, Ive got plenty
I hauled my 140 a lot. I’ve got a lower trailer for mine. Where you can, park the trailer downhill so it won’t be as steep to load. It cuts down on the pucker.... Ran my chains through the wheels. Never over the bell housing or any where on the cultivator frame. Just my two cents worth...
If you run the chains of the plates in a more forward angle then chain the rear ones to the rim, you won't need the strap to the winch and she will sit on there rock solid
Hi Joey. I wrote one heck of a comment. Some negative even, sorry. It seems to have been eaten by my phone?? I will have to Email you my thoughts. Grade 70 chain and 4 points of contact best. No tickets from the DOT officers. Nice rig. That hat reminds me of my years in Texas in the 60’s. Wind and hats are a bother at times.
Could go a lot tighter on those chains in my opinion… I’d hate to see it come off, unless it was in my yard 😉 If you’d want a hand/a few pointers I’d be more than happy to.
Came over from This Farm Wife saw you and your wife on her video.
Love the last name. Thank you for subscribing.
Looking good. The old fire hose over the chains sounds like a great idea.
I thought so too
Nice Ram👍👍
can always love a new farmer to farmer...place to visit.....you come highly recommended (the Banards).......eh....dj. new sub here from CANADA.....
Thank You and Welcome
Get some wheel chocks for added security too. Nice rig!
Hey Billy. Thanks for watching. Probably not a bad ideal. 👍
I recommend backing the tractor on rather driving forward with that particular ramp...for safety reasons. Nice trailer!
I was wondering about that. It is pretty light feeling going up the ramp.
Congratulations , idea , very good , enjoy , stay safe !
Great vide, enjoyed watching. I am happy I subscribed.
Hey Andy, Thank you for subscribing I hope to get you some more videos to watch here pretty soon.
Like the set up for the trailer. I only have 400 miles on my truck. I know how you feel. But it's only money. Thanks for sharing.
I know what you mean.
Going to pick mine up Friday. I was wondering how I need to strap it down. Thanks for this

That tractor is perfect for that trailer I ran across a model a a older gentleman had and it was in good shape haven’t seen many in that condition!
I’m looking forward to getting it in tip top shape.

Hey Bill, Thanks for Subscribing. Sounds like a late 60s model or early 70s.
@@Jtwes I'm thinking early 60's, it has been a good one, no complaints. I knew a guy that had a late model that was diesel, only one I have ever seen!
I think it’s a great idea 💡👍❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼I like building stuff like that it relaxes me 👍
Thank You Charlie.
I finally found some attachments for my 140! Got a disc, 2 row bottom, and a cool transplanter yesterday.
Disc and a plow you can do about most anything you need.
@@Jtwes I was just excited to find attachments so close to home most everything I see is in North Carolina and Tennessee

Hey Bobby, I think the plates did good I’m going to do something else in the rear I think. Maybe go through the rims.

I’m planning on switching to the rims with fire hose around the chains
@@Jtwes fire hose is probably as abrasive as those 10,000 pound straps. Not nearly as rough as chains though

Hadn’t thought of that. I might try that.
It was more than half way scary coming down the ramps backwards and no brakes with my white truck a few weeks ago
I think it should work just fine brother Waylon ( Joey ) ! Idk where they ( 4020 pieces) came from . But should hold just fine .
Hey Scott , I think it was from some side rail along the engine. It was a long piece and I cut those two I had off it.

That back chain was the loosest. I think I’m going to go through the rims.
If you have a 4th binder you can get that back side a lot tighter
I do but I think I’ll go with the rims . I noticed the more I ratchet down it was pull the lift down with it.
whooo!! I'm the first view! once again great video. Great hat and belt buckle. RED POWER!! (Farmalls not communism)
Maybe a mud flap👍
Put an old inner tube piece on the rims to chain it down instead of cloth.
That’s a good ideal.👍
Less likely to slide off of rim and won't or less likely to scratch the rim.
Go forward and backward off the side plates you made
Sounds like a good ideal.
Backing it off the trailer would be scared to me
Hey Thomas , I been thinking I might start backing it on the trailer. Your right it’s a little tedious.
I here u it's like having 6 in one hand and a half dozen in the other.lol
Let the drawbar all the way down. That way it can’t bleed down and get slack
You know what I didn’t even think about that. I should have lol . Thanks for the good ideal.
That ramp is a bit steep looking, especially with no front wheel weights
Hey Lamont, good to hear from you. Your right it is steep. Somebody else suggested I load backwards. I think I might do that.
share n and care n.....cause I can and I want to......eh......dj.
I bet that big hemi loves gas 🤨
I’ve been getting 15 mpg driving and on a trip I got 10.1 driving through mountains pulling that gooseneck empty.
