The KISII tribe famous for performing brain surgeries for a thousand years before the colonizers banned it in the 1940.Also the Banyoro kingdom of Uganda taught European Missionary doctors how to successfully perform c- sections births in 1879

However, people always gifted them and that made grandfather very rich. He died a poor man after donating everything including his land. To date, my father treats many ailments including fertility issues among women. When the patients give birth, kids are brought for blessings with gifts.
In my father's ancestral village of Sichei in Bungoma County they had a communal water mill situated on River Kuywa. I never saw it in operation but am glad through this video I now have. Thank you for sharing this.
Its interesting to understand the effect of colonization in our culture. Lawrence has kept saying that they hardly eat Ugali in Uganda but now I understand, The ability to grind grains is what made Ugali a staple in Kenya. The mill was introduced by the colonizers and Nabongo Mumia was the first Kenyan to own such a mill over 100 years ago

Senior Chief Musa Nyandusi was a colonial family. Today, they own Sansora Bakers and Kabansora Millers, some of the largest wheat farmers in Kenya.
