Just hooked one last weekend on this fly on the OP, it straight up glows in the water!
Why bother with the dubbing loop portion? Seems the rest of all you added completely covers it -- not critical of the plan -- really curious-- beautiful when done.
The loop adds bulk that props up the marabou. That helps the fly keep a full profile in the water, rather than slicking down and getting pencil thin.
