I got into the Atelier Ryza series thanks to Kris, so the minute he mentioned that survey regarding the dub I paused the video and got that done immediately.
Remembering which Tomb Raider is the second one is easy. Rise is the obvious title for the end of a trilogy, which means that yeah, it's the second game, Shadow is the third one.
It didn't come up but if you need to know how broken Uncharted 1 was, here's a trick: you can shoot through walls as long as your camera can see around them. Stand Drake against a wall next to a door or gap, hold down aim and even with the wall being physically between his gun and the enemy, as long as you can move the camera to get your reticule over them, you can shoot them. And enemy vision can't see through walls, so you can pick your first target at your leisure, and hit most enemies trying to run up to you before they can even hit you. You can cover a lot of the early-to-mid game with that before the environment design goes against you. Just a fun tip from someone who played the PS4 collection in full on Crushing several times on other people's accounts, earning them the platinum trophies in exchange for money. Incidentally I never want to touch an Uncharted game ever again.
It's not as physics based as Umihara Kawase but Environmental Station Alpha is a great metroidvania with a fantastic grappling hook. You get a lot of momentum from it so it's super fun to use. It was made by the Baba Is You dev.
@@percivaldotburgers it's technically a Kickstarter obligation since Silksong started out as a "playable Hornet DLC" so you could argue it's been over five years
2:36:00 Actually Strive's dojo missions do give you combos and tips on how to play every character. The problem is that it gets wedged between lessons on Strive's mechanics and fighting game fundamentals It was helpful in breaking me into the genre but it's badly organized enough that I eventually found it more useful to look to videos or the custom combos thing when learning a new character.
i quit Battle Network 1 (played pre-Legacy Collection) because it was just too dull and i couldn't be fucked to know where to go bc wherever I went it'd just be another random encounter corridor festival with a slightly unique theme to the tiles i'm walking on for way too long thank you, Dan Videogames, for spoiling this 20~ year old game and sparing me ever having to play it
Battle Network 1 was a slog but I fondly think back on the music and the battle system. I'm kinda glad Dan went into spoilers cuz now I feel less inclined to fall into that hole.
I'm having all these memories from playing megaman battle network 1 all those years ago on my 3ds that videogame is cursed. if something so bad came around today, it would be axed in 3 seconds and never spawn my favorite version of a character
rashid was one of the best parts of 5, i'm just mad that i have to pay extra for him this time hopefully him being DLC this early means he wont be left out of that whole SP hub thingy
To clarify the battle network collection status, 1 and 4 ARE both the worst of their 3, with the second game of each collection being good, and then the third game in each collection being great. Dont play 1 or 4. and ESPECIALLY dont play them without buster max mode. but 2, 3, 5, and 6 are great without it. also each game is for sick freaks like myself and have extensive post-games which you should play until you're sick of them.
I didn't know the Goemon rebrand thing hit the gba. Only knew of the PSX game which precedes it. Just tried it briefly and it's just an inferior port basically. Uses 64 era Goemon music for whatever reason, lacks some enemies and check points. I don't know a reason to choose this over the PSX version, which has a translation now. It was a cute novelty so I guess thanks to Kris for letting me know though.
Dubs are terrible, im glad atelier got rid of them. They should never come back, that entire industry is full of predators and disrespect to the source material
