Happy to see more alcest! The reactions you did years ago for alcest is when I found your channel. Alcest is one of my favorite bands. Nobody is quite like them. You should check out their latest album from this year! Their album shelter is also an album I’d recommend as it’s purely shoeglaze
For context, iron is what gives rust and blood their red colours. I think of the title meaning something more like "on the blood-coloured ocean". The rest of the lyrics seem to describe the journey to or encroachment of death from a very spiritual direction. Great lyrics as always with Alcest
This is truly one of Alcest's best songs, the first time I heard it I was driving through the Austrian mountains during a beautiful sunset and I was moved
I just bought tickets to see Alcest here in Toronto in March. It's insane how much Neige and his projects have shaped my taste in music, so I can't wait
I have not checked out all your Alcest videos, but it seems like you mostly have been exposed to the ones that are "most metal". What you enjoyed about this song is present across the entire body of work. Sometimes within longer compositions and sometimes, like with this, as a stand-alone track. This becomes more apparent once you listen to an entire album in one go, and the repetitive moments feel less unwarranted once you place them in a larger window of time (as in the context of an album). I would recommend listening to this one as a whole, or possibly Les Voyages de l'âme. For a one-off song recommendation, check out the song Shelter from the album of the same name. If i recall correctly, that album is pretty much devoid of "blackgaze"..
I would highly recommend you to react and analyze "Souvenirs d'un autre monde" from the same named album (2007) by Alcest next time. For me, its the best song of Alcest by far.

The most beautiful song ever recorded.

I see them 2 week ago for the first time. My first gig after 13 years. It was just awesome experience.
the song is building up but it is not becoming more tense. it just feels like channeling real energy into me like goku

IT IS
If you liked the two Alcest tracks you should also check out Astronoid and Numenorean
Initial thoughts... this sounds like Buckethead
I heard it as the emphasis being on beat 4
in the beginning
creating this almost stumbling effect
You should check out the Shelter album if you have not, purely a shoegaze record.
HUGGEGEEEEEEE
