I miss this Anna.
She was great in lyric roles but marketing imposed her to sing heavier roles, demaging her voice. Pity.
Un de ses meilleurs roles! La voix est belle, l'interpretation convainquante, musicalité acceptable! Pourquoi n'a t elle pas continué soprano lyrique!! On n'est pas aussi soprano dramatique quand on le decide par caprice ou marketing!

Vocally magnificent, The two voices combine wonderfully even though I think a little overblown for the original period of the opera. I question the staging and the assimilated emotions which must convey the momentary intentions that the scene requires. We must see and feel the uncertainty of the convictions of each. It takes some very good acting as well as singing to bring this off. I have to say OK since the date and customs of the original period of the opera and that which has been adapted for the scene and performance presented.
Wow, this is hot.
Well, I can't give full approval of this scene from Manon. The emotions between the two, Manon and Des Grieux, are muchj more deeply felt. Manon is what she is...and her intent is seduction. Des Grieux is trying to disconnect his feelings for her, the reason he has down deeply turned to God and the church. But Manon is so attractive and convincing Des Grieux can't resist. I don't get this dramatically. The two are vocally wonderful and very suited for the roles.

Not marketing. Her own ambition. She said she got bored of singing girl roles. And she ruined her voice doing bigger roles
