I remember watching the Statler Bros. 1985 Christmas special. They sang this song and it was our first Christmas together as a married couple. My brother in law recorded it on VHS for me and we would play it every year at Christmas for our 2 children while they were growing up.Despite being a 35 yr old tape, it has become a family tradition to watch it every Christmas.
I bought two cassettes and 1 cd of this for me and my mom, she passed a few months ago and this brought some bittersweet memories for me. It takes me way back and I miss her so much thanks
Similar story here. My mom loved Christmas and we shared so much through Christmas traditions. When she died shortly before Christmas 2010, it tore me up. But these songs allow me to reconnect to those old memories. The Statler Brothers were foremost on our Christmas playlist. Now, their song "For Momma" has taken on new meaning for me. It tears me to shreds, but I have to hear it (and all these other great songs) every year or it isn't Christmas.
Ah! Thank you for this. Have it on cassette tape. Back in Christmas of '91 drove across country and back with this playing in the car continuously over & over to pick up & take home the puppy shown grown up in my profile pic. Happy memory!
Excellent as The Statlers songs usually are......
Still one of my favorite Christmas Albums even after all these years. No one does it like the Statler Brothers.

I kept feeling like it isn't Christmas...then realized I haven't played this album yet. NOW it is starting to feel like tomorrow is Christmas.
Same!
It is time we stop and lay our differences aside. Christ our Lord is born. Believe and he will guide all of us home. Merry Christmas

My own personal Christmas tradition is listening to this album. Brings back so many memories of when Christmas was the happiest time of the year.
Wish they would put new CDs of this out - CLASSIC and beautiful album!!

I feel the same way too. My mom passed 2 years ago from Alzheimer’s and Christmas is both a happy and sad time for me.
