Given the injury rate in this sport, I'm surprised that the rosters aren't larger. Here we are grabbing guys off other PS, and they only have a week to learn the team's schemes. Since you know that you will go through 75+ players in a season anyway, why not keep these guys on hand so they at least know the playbook, the coaches, and their teammates? Make the rosters at least 60 players.

Betts was not NFL caliber. He seemed like he was a cool dude and a great story, but NOBODY in the NFL wanted to mess with him. Even after the Lions gave him a long shot.

You see why you don't trade all your picks for a star. You need depth and 6th 7th 5th 4th round picks can be that.

Injuries ..i know other teams have them but we've lost starters and depth for the starters we are down to practice squads now its rough but we still got it

better to poach players off other practice squads than free agents not with anyone. practice squad players are in game shape. Guys off the street may be in good shape but maybe not in game shape from being away from it for some time.

Is there a problem with the Lions' conditioning program?
People don't want to admit that blowing that lead to san fran last year and having the best record this year but with the whole starting d being out for the season are just a continuation of the curse from a different,even more heartbreaking angle. The conditioning is pretty much the same for every team. These guys are elite athletes and train hard
The lions just played with 3 days rest. EVERY player in the NFL after 12 weeks has aches and pains. This is not tennis.
