This is the final track of my EP "The Red Room".
I wanted to end that EP on a darker note, having a song that truly tells a story. I hope you'll still manage to connect to this more obscure song.

I love this darker tone in this EP. It's such a change from the other stuff I discovered you by. But I'm honestly so glad you expanded into the darker themes. This song is probably my favorite from the EP. Eerie, dark, beautiful.
I feel like this song is about someone who hasn't probably grieved the loss of another person. They're trying to reassure themselves that they're fine but I think the song takes a darker turn. I honestly feel like this person had a breakdown and killed someone. "It's fine, it's now. There's no escaping time. Everyone must say goodbye. It's fine. It's time."
Or quite possibly (metaphorically), they "killed" a part of themselves that wasn't able to grieve the loss of someone.
Or maybe the song is about a killer who has a part of him that feels the slightest amount of guilt over the people he killed. [All the people who are dead

I'm just so in love with this EP! It is the only thing I've been playing this past week in lockdown!! Just so beautiful and enchanting, not to mention mesmerising... This particular song completes it with its eerieness and echoing sounds. I really enjoy seeing what Rosenfeld will bring out next time! They are just so amazing!

Cant believe it’s been over a year since this came out. Honestly, this is one of my favorite songs. The way you preform and sing the lyrics makes it sound dreadful and sad, almost like this is the last song you will be singing. Almost like you dont want it to end. In my opinion, this song is pretty simple on the surface. I say this because I think the song is focused around death, trying to run from death, and being afraid of death. It seems the song can be seen from two different perspectives. There is the perspective of Sir Rosenfeld(the main character), and John Doe, the man who dies. At the beginning of the song, Rosenfeld seems to be talking about dead people. Maybe people he murdered? Near the end, it sounds like you are finally catching up to your victim. You knew his end was coming. He would soon be on his one way trip to the abyss. While the John Doe was running, he was desperately calling for someone to help him, until it was too late, and Rosenfeld caught up to the man and killed him in cold blood. Of course this is a super basic breakdown. It’s currently 11:40pm where I am when I am typing this. Just thought i’d share it. Rosenfeld, I hope you see this man. I love your work and I will always be a supporter. Hopefully I can buy some merch soon as well. Love you man 🥀.

This song for me, I see myself, on my knees, with a gun in my hand, an M1911. I'm shaking and my breaths shuddering, I look down and there are spent shells, I start hearing faint screams, as I come to grips and the darkness around me clears, looking for signs that it isn't real...I see the woman I loved on the ground, lifeless, yet beautiful.
I like this song, this is better than before. Wish there's a climax but none.

John Doe (or Jane Doe) is a name given to an unidentified body or individual that prefers to remain anonymous for their safety during an investigation.
I think John Doe could be speaking about a victim of a murder. He tried to run, tried to hide, but in the end he was still killed. And perhaps the reason he's called John Doe is because the person killing him didn't even know who he was. And that opens the door to so many possibilities. I personally think John got mixed up in the wrong crowd. Made some deals that he couldn't keep. So he was taken out. Perhaps by a hit man?
And the story is being told by the killer. Who, perhaps has been caught and is recounting the story to police.
Just a theory.
