Great Video and great Camera. I have my EOS-1n now over 5 years and i'm still super happy with it. Batteries last forever and the handling is super easy if you familiar to Canon Cameras. I did shoot everything with it, and this Camera never let me down. So happy to call one my own.
Regarding the need for extra step to adjust the shutter speed, I believe it was because you have an unconventional back. If your next 1n comes with a regular back, you will find a dial on it to adjust shutter speed with your thumb.
Amazing pictures, Josh! There is something about these old canon bodies that is just perfect. A couple months ago I bought a 5D mark III just as a camera to have with me without thinking too much about breaking it and since then I love it and use it so much more than I initially thought 😃
Hey there! I have the same camera and it’s absolutely amazing! I really enjoy using it! As for the shutter speed, if I'm not mistaken, that camera has customizable buttons and I believe you can change them. Personally, and since I have the other back, I have the aperture set on the back dial and the shutter on the top dial!
A note on using rechargeable batteries. I came into an issue that rechargeable batteries don't work with the grip. They actually produce slight less power that is needed compared to regular batteries, so the camera wouldn't function using those rechargeable ones.

Hi! This could be an exposure problem. Are you making sure to perfectly expose every single shot? Even a half stop up or down can make the image much grainer and less sharp. The sharpness could also be the lens itself! Feel free to send me photos via DM to my instagram @joshkoby
I've got one for a bit now with the bigger grip that holds 8 AA batteries lol; it's a tank. You mentioned the extra step setting the shutter speed. I thought on mine, I could just use the back scroll wheel instead?
If you're using the same lens there shouldn't be any image quality difference between the 2. I believe the Elan 7 has better autofocus but the 1n has a better build quality with weather sealing as well as a faster max shutter speed. Edit: I'm sure there's other differences I'm missing but one I just remembered is the 1n viewfinder is 100% coverage while the elan 7 is 90%

1n is super reliable and pleasure to use. I got mine in late 90’s and it still shoots like brand new.
