    It would be interesting to see a list/collection of his broken parts for a season of racing. I know I break a lot of pparts and am nowhere near as hard on my buggy as he is

    • @MadRam11
      @MadRam11  7 років тому +1

      Honestly I don't think he broke anything all year. He cut a few tires and had to replace a starter but thats about it. The buggy is built extremely tough with the best parts available

    • @ZeekDuff
      @ZeekDuff 7 років тому

      At some point, he broke off all the bolts on the top of the left front steering arm. I forget when in the season, fairly early on, I think. Assuming those were ARP bolts, he really put some torque on it, and it didn't look like he'd hit it that hard, but obviously, he did.

    He knows how to get with it thats for sure
    Does he swap axles for different races or events or did he have different setups throughout the year only reason I asked is I see some he's got rear steer and some he's got U-joints in the front and some he's got rcv no matter what he's the top of the line

    • @cheese-je9xs
      @cheese-je9xs 7 років тому +1

      He has 2 buggies, one for racing and one for casual trail riding. The one for racing does not have rear steer, the one for trail riding does. If you go back ad watch, you will see that when he is in the buggy with no rear steer, it is always in a racing event and the opposite for the trail buggy.
      He is building a new race rig right now, he sold the one in this video which was called unfinished business. I don't know if it will have it yet but I hope the new race rig will have rear steering as Tim is very good with it. Im pretty sure he still has the trail rig.

    • @cheese-je9xs
      @cheese-je9xs 7 років тому

      Don't worry, all the hype and praise will start to die down about outlaw. Not saying its not an amazing buggy because it is, but Clayton is such a good driver that he can make anything look extremely capable. Clayton in a solid axle rig would look just as wild as in outlaw, but hes still a little behind tc :). Outlaw is just a new and different design, that's why everyone is going nuts over it. Once the newness starts to fade, you will see that it doesn't have this massive advantage that everyone seems to think it does.

    Re; the friendly competition between Clayton Hollingsworth's "Outlaw" (there's actually 2 of them) & the TC Built "whateverisnext." Tim made a buggy with IFS in 2016 called "Money Maker" but with a solid rear axle. (From his description; "front axle: Custom IFS with Pro-Performance Dana 80 Ultra narrow differential with custom 47 spline RCV axles - rear axle: Dynatrac Pro Rock 80 with RCV 47 spline axles")
    I'd be very interested to see Tim build a dual Independent suspension with rear steer buggy, simply because the math makes so much sense from the standpoint of keeping the tires more fully in constant contact with the ground/rocks when they travel straight up and straight down, instead of angling onto an edge during a long wheel-travel in any direction (up/down-right/left). AND, the Outlaw does NOT have rear steer. (Correction, it does. See below.) Also, Tim has said more than once he misses having the rear steering, and he IS very good with it. Also, his tire choices and mods would work well/better, and while Clayton's choice of farm tractor tires on the rear work very well in loose dirt & muck, they just aren't good at all on rocks, and wouldn't do well on a rear-steer setup, because of both the tread design and the wide width.
    I'd almost be willing to bet Tim's got something like that in mind for the future, maybe even sooner than later... 😉 Because importantly, I didn't know he'd sold BOTH "Unfinished Business" AND "Plumb Buck," so yeah - he's gotta have something really insane in mind, perhaps a way more powerful combination of the last 2 builds, yep. Be ready, folks... 😎

    • @MadRam11
      @MadRam11  7 років тому +1

      Outlaw does have Rear Steering, it you watch the walk around videos of it you will see that it does.

    • @ZeekDuff
      @ZeekDuff 7 років тому

      Wow, well shut my mouth! So, Clayton never uses it? I've not seen him use it, is why I presumed it didn't have it. I will pay closer attention! Thanks! Yep, just watched the walk-around again, he used it briefly when he pulled up to park in front of the building, but that's the only time I've seen him use it. I'll watch the races more closely, but I sure don't recall him using it then, maybe got his hands too full. Hahaha... Not ashamed to admit I was wrong, anyway. Thanks for not shouting me down! 😎
