That charizard is edited but it is possible for the pokemon that the professor shows to the player to be shiny.

This was my first game to find a shiny in. It was a full odds shiny pidgey...on route 1. I didn't even know it WAS a shiny but I saw it looked different and that it sparkled so it went on my team...and then proceeded to never take it out of my party for the rest of my game. Might as well have been my starter if Blastoise wasn't as good stat wise as my other mons.
Dang my first shiny was Caterpie in viridian forest and it took me 20 encounters 😂😂😂

Can’t say I blame you for using the speed up mechanic. Although I would like to actually find somebody that actually does it legitly on a regular Gameboy that would be insane.

@jacobcollinsworth6515 I know this is an old comment but the odds are the same, however SRing is the faster method. Hatching eggs isn't really worth it in generation 3 games imho since there is no way to boost the odds.
Plenty of people do! They're super legit. Just look for full odds hunters
I'm currently playing a Professor Oak's Challenge in Fire Red.. I got 2 shinies from it so far. Caterpie & Venonat!! 😄😄

Lol!He literally spent so much time and was awarded. I literally got shiny metapod after 27mins of game when playing 1st time. I literally just ran from their because I was catching a pikachu. I didnt even know now too how to identify shiny

I'm not the only one that noticed that his reset count went from 2294 to 8010 while trying to get shiny magikarp. Right?
I've been resetting for charmander and im at 20,000 encounters. just curious, I dont think it'll make any difference but what emulator do you use?
I use VBA and 12 multi-window hunt.
I'm sure he probably used VBA too.

@@GrystalBeastTV Just open up 2 windows of vba and load the same game in each. Test buttons and see if they are synced. If not, then you can just go into the settings on the above tabs and there should be options for background input or sync input, something like that. Then just load up a bunch more windows and you can hunt way faster but still legitimately this way. It works great. It's how I got 2/3rds of my Hoenn starters and Kanto starters as shinies actually.

@@tvllerrdid you figure out how to control them at tbe same time
@@tps_young ya i did it’s pretty simple but it only works for windows. You just hold the shift key while opening your emulator and it should allow your pc to open up multiple versions. then you just put the save file and configure all the settings to be the same. and when you get the shiny you want you close out of the other ones and save on that emulator.

its not really 1 in 8192 when you are using 9 emulators with speed up
I got a full-odds shiny Gloom in Pokemon Sword once. That was pretty nice. (Full-odds because I never encoutnered Gloom before so the game had no reason to boost my chances.)
can someone tell me how to run more then an emulator? trying an only shiny pokemon fr :)
if you are on windows just right click the emulator on the taskbar and click it on the menu that pops up. It should launch another window. Also make sure you have background input on in the emulator settings

I have a shiny Raticate on my old Firered game. One of two I encountered in gen 3, the other was a shiny Poochyena in Emerald, though unfortunately I've lost it since. 😄
On my Pokemon Let's Go Eevee rom hacks, on my previous PC I hunted for a gold fish, and caught it eventually after a ridiculously long chain. On my current PC after downloading the game and playing again, I had a shiny Metapod after 40 minutes of playing lol.
I have attempted hunting shinies, but I do not have the patience for it. The gold fish was the only hunt that ended succesfully.

gen one has shinies too only its more advanced and you need to do research he says gen 2 so is wrong
gen1 does not have shinys.

It’s not luck you can get shiny starters with rng
I mean true, it's not as fun as the legitimate full odds hunt.
manipulating the starter rng is more complicated than actually trying to hunt the shinies, like it's not even worth it
