I agree but each have their own appeal. I love the monsters even though I watched it in the 90s. Late late. Now my kids are watching it with me. It's a show that doesn't get old. They watch this one and the Addams Family. This show is truly standing strong and attracting people even now. I showed it to my kids they loved it and their little friends came to watch it once with them. Their parents called me saying it is funny because now they are watching it too its a fond childhood memory for them too. 😄

Golden age of television, they don't make shows as good as that anymore.
Marilyn is my favourite character, I like the way they over look Marilyn's appearance and treat her with love and kindness. Lily sees Marilyn more as daughter than a niece, and always takes Marilyn into her confidence.
And so legend says Herman Munster was the first Uber Driver and encountered first rude passengers

...remember Herman trying out for the Dodgers?...they wouldn't let him play because it would have cost $75,000 to put Dodger stadium back in order after each game if Herman played with his incredible hitting power, knocking over the outfield walls, destroying the scoreboard and other acts of unintended, playful destruction...he kind of did the same thing when he played golf at the Mockingbird Heights C.C. ...

Neither Al Lewis nor Fred Gwynne thought that Yvonne DeCarlo, who had been a second-leading-lady and major supporting character actress in movies of the '50s, had the chops to do comedy, but her performance in the first few Munsters episodes changed their minds.

I used to watch this show
As a kid along with the Beverly hillbillies and green acres. Much better then the rubbish they make today.
Home Improvement was the last good show they made on TV. Anything after that has been trash.

This show is so wholesome, someone needs to do something with this IP. I can totally see this working as a cartoon in the style of Fairly Odd Parents where its like two 11 minute shorts per episode.

This show is an oxymoron. The premise is incredibally absurd and stupid, but the comedy is absolutely hilarious. The characters of Herman and Grandpa were brilliantly created and the character acting of Fred Gwynne and Al Lewis is also brilliant. The script writing is hilarious comedy by the best in the business. I love this show, always have since I was a child in the 1960's.
THE WRITERS FOR THE MUNSTERS WERE SUPERB.. WAY AHEAD OF THEIR TIME

Fred Gwynne lived and died in Taneytown Maryland. He died not long after his star turn in My Cousin Vinny. He stole the whole movie.He was perfection.

Yvonne DeCarlo had a ridiculously hot body. The Lilly Munster costume didn't show much, unfortunately. Carolyn Jones had one of the cutest TV mom-faces ever. Tough choice.

of "Three Stooges" after Moe, Larry and Shemp went out on their own. He was one of the last actors from vaudeville

I really like the cars.
I'm a car guy and a Cadillac buff since I was 8. Here is some trivia for you. The car Herman is driving is a 1937 Cadillac V-12 Formal Sedan. There were only 11 of these made, but only ONE, this one, is a fastback making it the only one in existence. The others were humpbacks. The car actually belonged at the time to The Munster's producer Bob Mosher who was a car collector. The car still exists today. Another little known fact is that the car was maroon, not black with a black leather top.
I like the episode where Herman gets struck by lightning and gets turned into a girl.......
