Strange, i couldn't skip the micromachines ad and after it finished there wasn't a video to watch.
Cool that they're back, but look like a cheap knock off version of the originals. None of these are real car models, unlike the originals.

Anyway, so disappointed, the ones I had as kid were so much more detailed and good quality, and it’s not a memory trick because I found some recently at my parent’s house and they do look great

@@Eurobunneh I don't remember Micro Machines being metal. I do remember them being painted though, and not just colored plastic. My favorite one that I had was the Lamborghini Countach.

The city looks cheap compared to the originals, the old toolbox city was so detailed and I loved the fold out box expansions you could get.....not to mention the game on the mega drive!

I had the toolbox city and a bunch of the expansion sets. Absolutely awesome! What a pity they felt the need to make these cheap looking pieces of garbage to sully the name.

With this video I relived my childhood. Have great memories of the collection I had of over 300 cars.
They don't look like the originals from my childhood but it's a nice effort to bring these back and to be fair, I loved their compact size as indeed it made easy for a play area to look big. I sadly gave all of mine away over the years but I still found a tiny bus in some of my old stuff and still have it in a drawer so I can confirm what some people remember, they were really a mix of plastic and metal which gave them a great appearance in comparison to the ones seen in the video.

I paid $50 for the 1996 indy 500 starting grid micro machine set. Worth every penny and happy to share micro machines with my son!
I have 2 Full city's from the 90's including the hummer city. Not to mention the OG Super detailed micro machines, there are tiny people in some of mine! Cant wait to get back home i know what im doing!
I started buying Micro Machines when I first found them at the local grocery store back in the late 80's. I have a nice collection.

Yes!! I was part of the team that did the paint schemes and design of these new MicroMachines. A bunch of the pieces in this vid were designed by me (the entire fire/rescue team for example). As a graphic designer and Die-Cast collector this was a dream gig for me. So cool you guys did a piece on them. I love your channel so this is extra cool.
Man. I'm kicking myself now. I passed up on an opportunity to get this set free. I didn't realize I wanted it until now. I just thought, "Cool. They're bringing Micro Machines back again." I still have mine from when I was a kid.
I loved creating my own custom inclined race tracks with Lego for my Micro Machines as a kid.

What I loved about the original ones was they were fully licensed.
Microvan City was the best Christmas gift I received as a child. I was in love with MicroMachines, its crazy nostalgic to see its return.

As a kid, I had Toolbox City. Micro Machines were great, but I actually had no idea they'd disappeared! Good to know they've been given a new lease of life. Hopefully, today's kids see value in them!
I'm totally diggin it Bro! I only bought a few back then. I just recently dug out my Richard Petty STOCK CAR SUPERSTARS race team set. The pictures on the back of the package show Richard Petty Speedway and Pit Kit, wish l would've bought those now. Awesome! 😁👍👍

Thought the same thing - Micro machines used to look cool and super detailed, with a somewhat realistic look. These kinda look like the where designed by Fischer price or something, almost cartoonish finish to them
I mean, it’s made by an entirely different company now. What did you expect? They don’t have any of the old molds, etc. Sure they’re hoping to increase quality but would need to make some form of profit before making them steps. Plus gives you more reason paint them yourselves.

"Micro Machines come in collections of 5" - I too moved from Matchbox/Hot Wheels to Micro Machines. We used to race them down a slope at school, a far cry from race mountain! Great they are back.
Like 5 years ago when I was like 10 I bought some used ones At my schools rummage sale which was when people brought their junk for the school to sell. Me and my two friends messed around with the ones I got and did just that. It was fun

These new ones look so fake and disappointed, probably because they are not licensed anymore.
I can see why some people really like these. But they are not for me.
Given their size you could set up a mountain track much longer than your usual 2 turns. That would very exciting - but a lot of work, I'm sure. If anyone can do it, you can!

I'm pretty sure there was like a firetruck at a store once, that held a city like this inside it. It was probably micro machines. But I think it was a returned product, so my mom convinced me to not get it. It seemed too good to be true as well when I looked at the box. It was everything I wanted from a toy. This van is so cool, I wish I had something like this as a kid.
I ain't convinced til I see them in a real race, and I'm happy to have my mind changed after that race

I just picked up a red 57 nomad stomper at a flea market about a year ago, guy said it didn't work, I paid him 2 dollars, took it home, and put a battery in it, worked fine
I have so many of these still... from 30 years+ ago. I had the aircraft carrier, the chinook helicopter and a few smaller play sets that interlocked to make a city... GODDAMN SO FUN! I am out today to buy some.

I loved micro machines as a kid, i had a lot of the military stuff, Go on lets see a race series of micro machines on Race Mountain.
Used to have the tank which was unfolding into a battlefield, and many military vehicles and soldiers. That was awesome.

great to see Micro Machines returning as a product range, I was way more interested in them than matchbox etc. The connectable city blocks were a great range, had maybe 4 or 5 of them alongside the VanCity & a couple of the military base sets.
