Funny. My grandfather Dr. J. Dan Schuhmann was the country doctor who built that little town. He donated the land and got to name the streets. I am the Philip of Philip Circle. great people. Thx
You missed a couple of staples in this small town. After passing the bridge off of 90, there's a beautiful cemetery behind it, is an equally beautiful park and baseball fields. That big red building is called "Share" as of 2019 it was opened and used as a Charity. People could go there and get help with groceries and clothes. Also the smoke house where they make delicious bbq and homemade desserts. My favorite is the chop brisket sandwich and white trash cookies. I'm not joking that's what they're called. 🥴 Lupitas Mexican restaurant is another favorite food spot. Riverside is the first thing you see when entering East Bernard. It is a dance hall and sometimes is used for parties and or reunions. I'm from Wharton Texas not that far from East Bernard. Actually East Bernard is in Wharton County. It's quiet and cozy but extremely family friendly ❤
Thanks Kim. This was definitely one of the slowest/ sleepiest towns I've ever been in making it super hard to try to make the video somewhat entertaining. 😩
Just checked it out on the map and it definitely looks like the type of place I would film. However, it is 6 hours away from me, so I have a lot more towns to cover before I make it out that far. Thank you for the suggestion! 😎
We would only spend short amounts of time there...we did new years eve there 2 years ago and popped fireworks on her dads land....been fishing to a couple spots on the san bernard river (with zero luck), and have driven downtown and ate at DQ@ThisSmallTown
I assume the main building has admin offices and standard classrooms. Across the street looks like more specialized education, like shop classes, band and orchestra, gymnastics, etc.
@@sylviaguerrero9794 since when? The Naiser building has the Ag shop. There wasn’t enough class rooms for a while high school in there when I went to school there
Any guesses to where the next small town I'm going to showcase is going to be? 🤔

Great kolaches out there, good spot to stop on the way to Matagorda
Was the kolache shop next to the hookah shop that I miss? 🤔
Vincek's Smokehouse right past the shell. Try out the san Bernard river between wallis and east Bernard for crappie
@@ifs_fishing 👀Crappie? I SHALL...Thank You.

Thanks for the tour!
Thanks for watching.😎
Congratulations on the new channel
Thank you!
As a kid we used to call East Bernard, “East barnyard”
That outside area at the church may be where they do "Baptisms" at
Hmmm maybe.
why did you put baptisms in " "?
Good job for a 'not a lot' town with an abandoned building as a highlight LOL
Maybe that building would be a prospective antiques destination.

I’m from east Bernard and no offense but it’s not creepy it just has character
When you leave the Houston area, make your way to Sweetwater. In addition to their daily life, hey have a yearly event that's pretty big.

Brookshire doesn't have a fire department so you'll have to grab a water hose and save yourselves 😂😂
😭😂😭
Besides UA-cam any other social media to follow?
What's up Jess. Currently, I'm only active on UA-cam. My other social medias haven't had any love for years.
@@ThisSmallTownThis is interesting content, you should start getting your other channels active as well!
Kristalnoel I don't need that type of stress in my life. 😂😭😂
Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok is all toxic. I like my UA-cam community over here. 😎
You got a IG?
Haven't posted on that in years
I spent time there...ex girlfriend's dad lives there...and her mom went to thst high school in the 70s...
What was your experience here?

@ryanraddin9568 yeah, that's about to experience I would expect.
Why is it two High Schools separated from each other reasoning ???
No clue and I want to know too!

That building across the street is part of the high school
The old high school is used for Administration.

Not sure what the period after each word is about😐😐😐
@@ThisSmallTownyes I live there
I just saw someone with a burlap sack on their head and a chainsaw in their hand.
I saw him as well and stopped and asked for directions. 🤔😂
