One can fool himself into believing these things. A lot of UA-camrs are covert ambassadors of certain camera brands. You don't see jared shitting on NIKON two years ago. As soon as Nikon gains market share and releases two best camera bodys in the last two years, suddenly "Nikon is bad" runs this channel. Nikon also has some UA-camrs in their pocket;) at the end of the day, he is paid to express negative comments towards a certain brand in every single video he puts out.

Nikon's autofocus has been a joke since they entered the mirrorless age, and it's pretty universally mocked, much like Canon's overheating issues and Sony's old color profile. . Nikon doesn't suck, but they overpromise and underdeliver and have for the last 4 years. The reason the "hate" didn't exist is because the D850 was the best camera at the time, whereas the 5D IV underdelivered. Nikon keeps passing their next camera off as the next big thing and it always falls short. They even said the Z7 was the "D850 of the mirrorless world" and it was garbage.
Also brand ambassadors aren't closet ambassadors. Listen to *any* brand ambassador and they are contractually obligated to use and discuss that system.
@@f.iph7291 The only brand that really pays for youtubers is Panasonic (see Lizzie Pierce's i'm switching to panasonic video as a recent example). Jared has been justifiably harsh on Nikon when they were late getting on the mirrorless train and produced mediocre first gen z5's and z6's with minimal lens selection. Nobody is paying him to trash talk Nikon.
That's shots so true was at my local camera shop and the nikons are needing the updated firmware for cfexpress cards

My RF 28-70 f/2 is my travel lens, taken it overseas on a few trips. It’s not that heavy when you got guns 💪

Not listening ti the podcast, bit a lack of time and not sure to find them, I'm mainly UA-cam (so never miss a FroKnows video though !)
I went the other way. 2x Canon, 1x 5D3, 2x M50. Went from those to 2x Sony A7IV and three A7C. Way better all around. I tried the Canon R6 before the switch. Both bodies I had died immediately of Error 70.

Circana is formerly known as IRI (Information Resources). Circana and Nielsen are considered to be the world leaders in syndicated data. Circana and Nielsen focus primarily on the Consumer Packaged Goods industry and the Grocery, Convenience, Club, Mass, and Drug Channels. NPD focuses on the remaining channels. The smaller the channel (cameras and bicycles for example) the more difficult it is to secure robust syndicated data. That said, various claims can be made by interpreting the same data points. There is a good easy read titled "How to Lie with Statistics" by Darrell Huff if anyone is interested in exploring how various claims can be made from the same data.

Jared, puffery isn't illegal. You can claim to be #1 or the best in the context of advertising as long as you can loosely reference some vague factor that one can objectively point to. If that was the case automakers would be sued at an outrageous rate!

I'm toying between switching to Sony A7RV or going for the Canon R5. Used Canon DSLR for 15 years so a switch feels a bit scary 😬
Don't worry too much - it'll be a totally different experience whichever way you go! But you do get used to it with time.
If you want bang for your buck I would say Sony, but if you shoot full time the Canon r5 is just a more enjoyable experience. I sold my A7RV and I'm in love with my R5, but do miss the affordability of Sony. RF glass is always a painful on the bank account.
Nikon's busy dropping firmware updates that would be new camera models for Canon or Sony.
I have used Nikon DSLR at the beginning, then I have a Canon APSC mirrorless and I absolutely hate Sony, so I am getting a Fujifilm arriving in 2 days.

weight i have not guns or muscles. but will hand hold Z9 Gen 2 FTZ and Sigma Sport 120-300mm F/2.8 monopod make to front heavy. and tripod where i shot at can not use in grandstand. yes i hand held Z9 gen 2 FTZ and Sigma Sport 120-300mm for 50 min straight. and sometimes held in left hand on leg while open bottle 16 to 20oz mountain dew. can not afford it or want pay for it.

You are absolutely right. You are a shill 🤗👻. What is the real data that includes bodies and lenses? While I shoot and own both I can still not buy a single Canon RF L prime lens wider than 50mm. No 14, 20, 24, or 35mm L primes are available 5 years after introducing EF.
How about these makers release their own manufacturing numbers for each model.

shot professionally with both platforms, both mirrorless and DSLR. started out sony, moved to canon, back to sony and im back on canon now, just find as an overall package (for me and my circumstances) build quality and versatility has always been the canons best asset in simple terms as a workhorse they "just work" where as ive spent many hours underwhelmed and frustrated by certain usability aspects and results from the Sony kit. out of all the latest mirrorless kit ive tried from multiple vendors, for me i can still pick up my 5DMKIV and just work, and deliver, something to be said for this whole mirrorless movement, said it before and ill say it again, you cant beat an OVF and DSLR, they just are the best imo.
While i love canon products with all my heart, as i recently bought the R6 II, you cannot deny that sony has more cheaper awesome lenses than canon. Both companies are good in what they do.
Sony can claim most sold sensors... or specific numbers like most sold mirrorless anything...because they make all the sensors for basically the whole optical industry... except canon. Lmao

Nikon might be selling as much units or dollars, however its only claim is that it has the best top cameras in 2023 with the NikonZ9 and Z8!!!!!!!!! So there.
I've heard it from 2 separate Nikon photographers that they'd rather stick with the DSLRs because the Z9 will either glitch, miss focus, back focus, or just straight up not get the shot more times than not. Both of them own the Z9 and it's updated.
There's a reason Nikon isn't in this discussion.
@@AustinRossAs a Sony (A7iv+70-200 f2.8 ii) and a Nikon (Z8+400 f4.5) user (brand loyalty is not for me) -
The Z8 is unmatched for its price and even punches much above its weight, same level as the A1.
I have used the Sony A7Riv & A7Rv with the 200-600mm and its not even close enough.
The Sony A7iv/A7c ii is unmatched for its price and the Nikon Z6ii is not even close enough atleast for wildlife.
And trust me I think those 2 photographers you talked to have serious issues or they are using adapters.
At this current generation, if you know how to take photos Nikon, Sony & Canon doesn't matter anymore.
@@stripes_in_raw I tried a Z8 for a while and loved it but the constant changing of focusing methods to make it work was so frustrating. It would also miss focus occasionally for no reason at all. I shoot weddings and events and just could not trust it like my Sony's. A shame because I LOVED the Z8 in so many ways.

Using Nikon after using Sony takes a good amount of time getting used to and setting up the Nikon in the first place is totally different from Sony.
In Sony, just using the Real Time Tracking and recomposing is super easy.
The problem with the Sony for me is the Yellow colour cast which is very difficult to correct than the magenta or green cast. Takes a lot of post processing especially for Bigcats in golden light.
After the 2.0 update, the auto-area AF works brilliantly for birds & mammals, even better than 3d tracking. And you have to set focus tracked sensitivity to 5 (locked on)
I had previously used Nikon D850 so it was easy for me.
But still, here in India people still use the Z6 ii for professional wedding photography and get good results. They also use Sony for videos.
Whatever you feel comfortable with, is the best camera period. No matter which brand.
@@nickwilliams7867 the only thing you can trust with SONy is you’ll never get a firmware update unless they jacked up the firmware in the first place. Firmware 2.0 on the Z8 make a better camera than Sony that cost thousands of dollars more.
Canon is using garbage cameras like the r100 to try to make sales but then they don't want to make good lenses for RFS. I like my R5 and I love my old 5D3 and such but canon is full of it.

Can't make them smaller without some draw backs. Besides that little E-mount is limited in what is possible compared with larger diameter Nikon Z-mount. Still waiting for that 35/1.2?@@nickwilliams7867

Personally I could careless who is number 1 as I am perfectly happy in the Sony Ecosystem, but I would had been perfectly happy with Canon or Nikon if I had gone the route. Though with Nikon it would had to started off with the Nikon Z9 body.

I believe Sony. I can honestly say that I don’t know too many photographers that actually use Canon 🤷🏽. I shoot with everything so I always try to converse with others on why they choose to shoot a single brand whenever possible.
Canon is so busy with new lenses, but when it comes to cameras they are a lame duck. R5 II in late 2024 for consumers or maybe 2025. Sony has more capacity to focus on the camera updates since they have opened their mount to others. For consumers, this is of course the better concept.
I used to love watching camera relatedness news and reviews to the very last detail but eventually realised it is too expensive for me to buy :(

500 5.6 need teleconverters in order to be competative period. Hopefully sigma designs it to fit with sony teleconverters otherwise i dont see it.
