Out of the world, still enjoying in 2024. I would have given them a Grammy for their outstanding contribution
For a long time I thought this video is shot in bombay... And STRINGS is 'our' band... As a kid I didn't know the concept of country and ours theirs... I just enjoyed the music. As an 31 year old I still try to cling on to that innocence... STRINGS is still our band... Nusrat saab is still our singer...
arjyajyoti goswami bro i am 33 now same feeling
Where did you guys use to watch it,I mean youtube was not there at the time
this is shot in Karachi by Jami
They are ours as much as we are theirs. Never, ever let go of that innocence!
Tathagata Mandal no we are not!
For our Indian friends: This is written by the Legend Anwar Maqsood (Loose talk host - Abbey Saale).
P.S. He is Bilal's father aswell :)
Ohh that's cool, was not aware of that fact, also loose take is such an awesome show.
Kya baat kar rahe ho Bhai.. Matlab ekdum se gaana sun ne ka najariya hi badal diya... Kamal hey... BTW thans for information.
Good to know. Thanks for info.

90's + MTV + US = GOLDEN GENERATION 💛💛🧡💛💛
Strings told us years back what we need to do to mobile phones!!
Edit: Thank you guys never thought this comment will get so many likes... Besides the news of strings are not attached anymore is heartwrenching.
Lol soooo true
101% true
True friend 😅👍😍😍
Stealing this quote of yours Bro to share this song.
Its so ironic that most of us are watching this on our mobile phone 😢
The era of 'PTV', when everything had particular time to broad cast a show/song/cartoon. I still remmber when all friends in neighbours used to rush back home to watch 'Qari Syed Saddaqat Ali's tilawat' program followed by 'Thunder cats' then 'Aeynak wala jin' then String band's song or any patriotic song. Huhh...those were the days of peace and harmony 😔
Sometimes everyone used to gather at one of the friend's home watch tv all programs. And nowadays huhh, people don't even ask for a glass of water.
Bilal Ahmed V True and don't forget Sesemi Street one hour show
Yeah.though USA and Taliban were fighting in afghanistan but there was peace in Pakistan
Kasam se yar!
Kash wo wakt wapis asakta
Absolute Great days my childhood memories, koi wo din wo waqt wapis la dy 😭😔
Talent was at its peak in 90's.. The bands drums guitars piano these were the instruments for pakistani rocking pop .. Only 90's kids will understand you know what i mean
this is a 2000s song
I remember i was in 9th standard and i paid 5 rupee per time for this song to be recorded in one side of cassette and sar kiye ye pahar on other side..
Hahahaha me v
Both tracks are just
What a great composition!! When this album came out, I didn't even had a clue that these guys are from Pakistan. What a great band. And I want to specially congratulate the video director of the album and the cinematographer. Great great direction and camera work. The shots are incredible like the family on the bike, the boy on the cycle, the chamiya truck, the jump in the puddle, slow leaps, the locked tap, the stare at the dusk, dhobi ghat, camera rolling around the band. Almost to the likes of a the great Martin Scorsese's movie. A timeless piece!!
jay So true!
VERY WELL SAID

I am an Indian Hindu, but my family migrated here from Karachi pre-partition. I truly believe that progressive liberal values, art, literature, and music can bring the people of the subcontinent together. Borders and religions are man-made, but sentient life, compassion, and empathy are god-made. Love & peace.
I agree. Let's connect the people & peace will ensue

And we migrated from Indore to Karachi ;)

Yess. ... beautiful Karachi shown in the video ❤❤
Look how decent these songs were...without vurgularity....singers of today cannot compete them
Strings were/are such a rage in India. I remember going bonkers seeing them perform live at my college fest and sing Sarki Hai Ye Pahar.
I had the same feeling when I first saw them performing at old fort in Delhi.
its sar kiye ye pahar..
2:27... the bass kicks in at the precise moment when his foot lands in the puddle of water... That's a god level attention to detail... awesome song, awesome video,... awesome days of childhood
@Arjyajyoti Goswami...I just replayed that part....guess such detailing won't come anytime soon, nor such music..

Arguably one of the greatest Indi/Pak rock songs ever sung on planet earth..

Love from 90s kid few 100 kms across the border..

my favorite Asian rock song ! what composition and balanced riff .. Take a bow Strings and the team behind Duur Album ! 👍🎸🎤🎤🙏
Was in love with this song when I was in school. Here I am 40 and still in love with it.
I feel Anjaane is one of the best or perhaps the best composition of this band
Nope. Durr and Dhani are far more best.
Anjaane is my top favourite from Strings.
All time best is zinda title track…ye hai meri kahani.
kahani mohabbat ki is best and faisal kapadia himself said in an interview
Sar Kiye Yeh Pahar is also a great track...
This video truly captures the essence of the largest (unofficial) metropolis of human existence on the face of earth which is Karachi. Chaotic yet high spirited with a unique sense of belonging and hope.

This song surges through veins without boundaries, cultures or languages, rushing like a bullet train going at the speed of light towards beauty, a blood-pumping pulse that refuses to listen to anything other than its own freedom.

It's really sad that Music these days aren't as good as what it used to be those STRINGS days 20 years ago when Life was so simple and no Mobile phones to spoil us with too much information and complexity
Excellent message in this video. Our lives are so involved with our jobs and responsibilities that we completely forget things/people around us. There is only one life, enjoy it while you can.

Perhaps the best of Strings ever . Came to strings to listen to Dhaani , found this . Now who cares bout Dhaani.

Was 5 years old when this song was released, First time watching the video of this song. My heart shatters seeing the beautiful roads of saddar karachi where kid was riding bycle, these roads and sorroundings are in a worst physical condition. My heart cries for our beloved city and country.

The truth is Strings band is hidden Gem in International Rock music industry.
Time when we didn't care what band is from Pakistan or India n just loved the music. You guys made our childhood amazing. Thanks for beloved memories.
what a melodious guitar pieces, priceless, missing this symphony nowadays!
ONE OF ITS KIND NEVER HEARD THIS SOUND . MAGNUM OPUS
Love from Northeast India.. U made my childhood worth it.. Had it not been for u, it would have remained incomplete. Gems like u n Lucky Ali gave an enlightened path to soothe my tougher days in life.. Heartfelt gratitude Sir❤
How did they take those slow shots at that time? Cameras and post-processing must have been super expensive. Very high quality for Pakistani production in 2000 !!
This is a Masterpiece! I'm in awe every time I hear it. A shame that Pakistani self-expression through music has been rare.
One of best rock song composition..I havent heard this kind of magic in Indian band rock composition..Hats off to Strings.
Amazing song!
yeah he looks like wasim..
This guy reminds me of two people: Wasim Akram and Chris Evan (the guy who plays captain America), imagine him with long hair
Fun fact: Bollywood actor Chunky Pandey got famous because people thought he looked like Wasim Akram
8th standard, evening time MTV Select, Nikhil Chinappa would play this. Life used to be awesome.
yeah true, feeling nostalgic, damn its so good to read the comments, so many good people on either side
These kind of songs ruled MTV, V channel, B4U Music channels in late 90's and early 2000's...
So much of class and compassion packed in this song
My favourite track of Strings..M a big fan from India!!!
A band who would have brought some fresh music even today. Missing those days.
Extra ordinary album. Listening to this for the past 20 years. Still fresh..Love from Andhra Pradesh
I was in 9th standard when I heard it first time.one of my lifetime favorites. It used to give me goosebumps and felt like It brought even my past life memories back haha..

Just saw the news that u have disbanded... Really sad... :(
But i want to say thank you so much for being a part of me, a part of my memories...
From a 90s kid
All these Music Band guys take you back to a much more serene Pakistan. I am thinking, if these guys were from any other country, like let say, Britain, or USA, the whole world would be celebrating them like Beatles or Def Leopards, GunsNRoses, Metalica, etc. But their Music is just as good, if not better, with a message of peace and of Love between Humanity. I wish same types of songs were made. Good on you guys. Strings, Vital Signs, Pearl Jam, Aaroh, they were Band of Brothers. Now a days just individual singers like Atif, etc. Wish they made bands like this, everyone contributing in synchrony.
Zain Abidin I just came here right after a def leppard song
pearl jam and strings....kinda like 2 sides of same coin....profound musicians, meaningful songs, quality in every aspect...:) best in the world in my books...
But now young classy bands are sprouting up in Pakistan. Bands like Xarb and Bayaan are too good. Give them time and they can do wonders
Zain Abidin brother who cares about US or UK or the whole world for that Matter. These guys are celebrated by a billion plus people from the subcon. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh srilanks Nepal Bhutan Burma etc. Forget the world buddy. They should be worried about us not celebrating them. Peace.
And dont forget they were requested for the music of spiderman movie
I love this song, childhood memories :))
I still feel you were way ahead of times.......your videos are awesome....the songs whenever I hear can't help singing.....God bless you guys.

Maaan... This has got such a late 90's vibe to it. The music, the guitar strum, the colour temperature of the video (namely hot signified by a yellowish hue while cool by a bluish one), the theme about stifling corporate work.
