It usually takes longer to perform background check (your current state). One can only guess when there will be a next update. But hopefully you should get something in next 1-2 months.

did my medical I am not sure what to do with the paper they gave me at the medical center. Is it to be scanned and uploaded? How to name it, like the naming conventions in the application?
- If it's an online application you should be to link with PR tracker using the UCI number available in your BIL. - eCAS is only relevant if you submitted a paper application. - Linking with GCKEY - you need to count the sponsor for number on app. Use 2...unless there are dependents, then add 1 for each.
You should give it some more time as there is no set progression of updates but it will be worth giving IRCC customer service folks a call to be sure. In parallel you can also raise a web-form, though I would not keep my hopes high as I have seen web-forms getting responded after 2 months :(
Hello everyone I'm from el Salvador central América my husband start the process on July, 2022, in September they asked me for my biometric fingerprint and the payment for the permanent resident right, since my husband live in Quebec on December,2022 my CSQ was approved after that on January 4 2023 I was request to take my medical exams I took them on January 11 2023, so far I'm waiting for the next step all we have right now is silence personally I feel I was asked pero each step super fast compare with other cases but I don't know what to expect, if someone can give ideas how long more will take my process 🙏
My first outland spousal application rejected on 13th Dec due to missing document then Resubmitted on 20th December again they rejected the application on 3rd feb no idea becoz the documents they asked was already been provided probably they didn't dig in to it now have reapplied 3rd time on 23th March really so stressful it's like application is stuck in the loop . Even we have contacted the local Mp if she can help us in this becoz both times the reason the application was rejected the documents they asked was provided they didn't dig in to it and straight away rejected the application .
Every application is processed differently but maybe someone from the community who has submitted their application on date closer to yours can help. 🤞🏻
Biometric updated on 15 dec ,2022 and everything updated , sponser eligibility approved .., when is ppr expected ? Any guess. No pre arrival service etc

But honestly there are many factors (you might already know this) that take affect a sponsorship application, in fact any Canadian immigration programs. To share an anecdote, when we applied there was an applicant who we were in constant touch received her AOR2 way ahead than us (say, March 2021), when we had just received our Biometric request. Interesting thing is that both our profiles were 99% same (Indian couple, first marriage, no child, new immigrant etc). However, She received her husbands PPR 2 months after we had received our stamped passport. 😕 The intention of making this video is to share what we experienced. :)

She was a student there in Canada and is currently living with me in Pakistan but not working any job I am in a govt service If she has to provide proof of funds can she use my salary slips or bank statements? What should we do in this case?
hey sorry for not responding sooner. There is no 'proof of funds' required for sponsorship process however there is a need to provide 'employment or income proof' earned 'within Canada', if she is a PR. Even if she is a Canadian citizen she still will need to provide 'her own' income and bank statements.
Sorry to hear that. As per the guides a resubmitted file goes back to the queue of similar applications but often is processed quicker than the rest - again nothing definite about that as well.
If the applicant is travelling to Canada after getting their CoPR (right after passport request), the PR Card will be sent to the address they will provide at the port-of-entry. If they are already in Canada the process will be different.

It is not mandatory to fill representative form but personally I found it to be of great help. This way both the sponsor and the PA can call/email IRCC to inquire on any aspect of the application. In our case as well we did entire process ourselves and I, as sponsor, was the 'unpaid representative' of my wife. We are super glad you find our videos helpful. All the best with your application.
Hi, today i received an email from IRCC stating “This email confirms that the process has been initiated for a permanent resident travel document application linked to your IRCC permanent residence portal account.” Please guide about this email message. Thank you
From my experience, the medicals are updated in the profile in 1-2 days but it might go beyond that for some. Best would be to reach out to IRCC customer service if it is not updated in a week.

You mean you want to leave 'for' India after submitting file? No, as a PR you have to be in Canada to be eligible as a Sponsor. Reasonable period (few weeks) of travel should still be fine.
That is correct and the video description states the same. When the video was published there were still applicants who applied using paper-forms. Now that it is mostly online ECAS may not work.

I feel you. It can be disappointing but we have to trust that no news is good news. Things are moving in the background. You can still give it a try by calling IRCC to seek for any update. In our case by calling them we got to know which VO our file moved to. Worth a try!
Is their anyone who's spousal application rejected twice. @@gurmeet2115 you can call the ircc help desk to know the visa office. if the status has just changed they might not know the answer but you can give it a try though. On the second question, no one can tell when you will get ppr. one can only guess. :)

You will get results in ECAS only if you have received an AOR (Family Sponsorship Program). Also, ECAS only works if you submitted a paper application - which was acceptable format until Sep 2022. If you have submitted an application online then it won't work. In that case you can only check updates on GC Key or the PR tracker tool.

It’s a paper doc you will receive along with the stamped passport. In nutshell, you send your passport to VFS for stamping after PPR > stamped passport comes back with CoPR doc.

We are glad that you find them helpful. One can only guess when you would receive PPR which again may not be the way how the immigration office processes an application. Nevertheless, once the background checks are complete and a decision is made on your application you should receive PPR soon. Received biometric mail but it's been 3 days no mail for medical. Looks like I have to do separate travel for both . Many PPL get biometric and medical mail in together . What should I do ? In your case it was 90 days, in my case 30 Days.
Hey, you are not alone in the boat. I am also waiting for updates on my husband's sponsorship file. We submitted it on Jan 31st, 2024. Biometrics request came on April 25, 2024. After that, nothing till now. It's different and random for all the cases.

It still is within the normal processing time. You can give it a try by calling the IRCC service desk and ask if they see any additional update. Most likely your app is sent to local visa office for background verification.
It is the port through which you will enter Canada. For example, your port of entry will be Toronto Pearson Airport if you are flying to Toronto. It can be Niagara if you are travelling by road from US, and so on.

when you go to your pr tracker, or GC key, or receive an email that something was updated but you do not see any ACTUAL update in system is casually referred to as 'Ghost Update'.

Guessing date is a futile exercise. It will only come if the immigration office releases a PPR.

There’s no set sequence but typically it is received after background verification is complete.
I got my pre arrival letter before the background check started. So, I don't think there is a proper sequence to the process.

From my experience, the medicals are updated in the profile in 1-2 days but it might go beyond that for some. Best would be to reach out to IRCC customer service if it is not updated in a week.

You mean you want to leave 'for' India after submitting file? No, as a PR you have to be in Canada to be eligible as a Sponsor. Reasonable period (few weeks) of travel should still be fine.
I cannot get any tracking details from ecas why?
ECAS only works for paper applications (submitted before Sep 2022), and if an application number is assigned to your file (i.e. AOR is received).
I think ecas is only for paper applications and not for online applications !
That is correct and the video description states the same. When the video was published there were still applicants who applied using paper-forms. Now that it is mostly online ECAS may not work.

I feel you. It can be disappointing but we have to trust that no news is good news. Things are moving in the background. You can still give it a try by calling IRCC to seek for any update. In our case by calling them we got to know which VO our file moved to. Worth a try!

There’s no set time to get it, and also it can come in any order. Like it can come before DM or in some cases after.

Ecas is not giving any update
You will get results in ECAS only if you have received an AOR (Family Sponsorship Program). Also, ECAS only works if you submitted a paper application - which was acceptable format until Sep 2022. If you have submitted an application online then it won't work. In that case you can only check updates on GC Key or the PR tracker tool.

It’s a paper doc you will receive along with the stamped passport. In nutshell, you send your passport to VFS for stamping after PPR > stamped passport comes back with CoPR doc.

Hey, you are not alone in the boat. I am also waiting for updates on my husband's sponsorship file. We submitted it on Jan 31st, 2024. Biometrics request came on April 25, 2024. After that, nothing till now. It's different and random for all the cases.

It still is within the normal processing time. You can give it a try by calling the IRCC service desk and ask if they see any additional update. Most likely your app is sent to local visa office for background verification.

After getting passport request for spousal sponsorship, how do we get pr card.
If the applicant is travelling to Canada after getting their CoPR (right after passport request), the PR Card will be sent to the address they will provide at the port-of-entry. If they are already in Canada the process will be different.
